I'm sorry about the quality of this videos, but a capture card cost USD $163 and here it's a lot. I have to record it with my smartphone.
They are all played by me against:

Vs Captain Falcon
Vs Charizard
Vs Diddy #1
Vs Diddy #2
Vs Rosalina
Vs Rob #1
Vs Rob #2
Vs Sonic #1
Vs Sonic #2
You really need to be more mobile. Control the flow of the match and don't just stand there and wait to react.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM6sGnG_pIo&t=13 vs Ridgeback ( Duck Hunt / Wario )

Free tournament night before Apex

http://challonge.com/Fauxpex2015real

I've gotten so much better since this, but still not too many videos against DHD/Wario so check it out

By mobile do you mean put some pressure on or be more aggressive?
I know my game is a very passive / reacting style, but it could be turn into an aggressive way without a high painful cost of it? Whenever I do that, I get punished.

Vs Link
Vs Bowser Jr

If you pay attention to my more recent videos you'll notice I play quite aggressive. Especially when I have purples. Whenever some new ones of me get uploaded I'll show you.

Thanks a lot, I'll be waiting for your video then :D.
I think that issue is the reason to keep me away from going to the next level with Olimar.

Maybe you already know it, but against Wario you can Fair/Bair easily his Moto Dash Attack (dunno the real name).

You could have just asked (PM'd) Myran to post the links for you. I've linked them for you - check Soulimar's quoted message below. Nice Olimar, dude.
Hey! I'm Soulimar, first time posting, been playing smash competitively ~4 years. Here are some videos of me from Norcal's regional sized tourney from last weekend.

These Olimar's were incredibly difficult to watch. I'd prefer if these people were posting these videos themselves and asking for advice. Nothing really to be gained by watching them by anyone other than themselves to learn. Very low level play for the most part.

Yeah... Someone at the Yoshi boards said so too. For me, whether or not someone posts their videos isn't that much of a problem since one, we can critique their videos for our own personal use. Sometimes, we can use their tactics or remember to not use that tactic. Or just for simple matchup gameplay and to see how we should interact in the MU like how to escape or how to not fight that MU.

The other issue is that they might not be aware of Smashboards or even care to post, so they're just in the dark doing what they're doing. For one, I'm only aware of @ K Kronos2560 , a Mega Man main whose videos are on showdowngg that's on Smashboards and has asked the Mega Man boards for advice. For one, he mentioned how Zex's Sheik is amazing and that Zex lives with ZeRo and Mew2King if I remember correctly, but I don't remember or know if Zex is on the boards. ZeRo links stuff from the boards, but I don't know if he has an account here. Then you have guys like Rice, Count, and Trevonte who people know are good players, but they aren't here, don't know about Smashboards, or don't care at all. We're talking about arguably the best known, US Dr. Mario, Rice, a good Pikachu, Count, and a good Palutena, Trevonte. There's also a good Falco and Bowser, Kato, but I've never seen him on showdowngg anymore and A Thug's Toon Link is pretty good.

showdowngg isn't like VGBC where people know and talk a lot about them, which is a shame since there are good players using characters we don't see a lot or don't see their results. Everyone knows Sheik's good, but I don't think there's a Sheik player in VGBC that shows up a lot or a Palutena, Pikachu, Mega Man, Dr. Mario - there's Boss, I guess -, etc. Hopefully, in the future, more people from showdowngg post, so for now, we can only look around and pull stuff from their to help awareness.

Anyway, at the same time, I think the players I posted were new just like when I posted Bonz's Yoshi and he seemed fairly new which is probably why GimR went for punishes to sort of help Bonz out. The other issue is that I don't think there are a lot of Olimar and Yoshi gameplay not to mention the lack of Falco, Toon Link, or even Mario gameplay.

You're right, it's just that if I'm going to sit there and watch a video and think about it I'd prefer these people to actually end up seeing how they could improve. It's not like a big deal or anything, but it's just way nicer when the actual player posts looking for advice.

Yeah, the reason why none of them are on Smashboards is because we have a HUGE Norcal Facebook page where all of us talk about tournaments, strategies, fighting online and **** talk.

Not much of them really feel the need to use Smashboards because of that reason, however I came here because nobody understands Megaman at the level that I play him, so I wanted to reach a specified board to get more diverse perspectives.

My opinion on Smashboards is that there's a lot of odd and impractical theorycraft from players I've never heard of, but not a lot of proof to back it up since they don't even compete, so it's hard for a lot of us in our region to take these folks seriously.

It has been very helpful for me in that I've run into quality/well known players who can give me the insight in looking for, which has been great. But it's probably one in about 30 posts where I'll see something that I can take seriously.

I think our region has grown to be very strong as of late, and I think we will get more exposure as time goes along. We aren't a household name like VGBC, but we're mostly focusing on ourselves, and let our play speak for itself.

I'm pretty sure NorCal is consistently bodied by SoCal so you guys should come down more :p

Edit: In Smash 4 at least

Socal is arguably the strongest region in the world in terms of their top players, and we host NME Zex very frequently.

I'd personally love to come down and play with you guys :)

I'm sorry, what? Where is this coming from?
What do you mean? Most of the stuff from Cali is uploaded on showdowngg which is where Soulimar's footage is from along with Rice, the best, known Dr. Mario, and Kronos is a Mega Man player whose footage is also on there.

This is from a month ago at a SFL tournament. Was hoping youtube vids would be posted, but I guess they aren't gonna do it. Instead I'll link the twitch vods with time stamps.

http://www.twitch.tv/vsgc/v/3795118
First match of me vs the Sheik player named Ed at 56:00
Next I play GDX (Diddy) at 2:37:20

http://www.twitch.tv/vsgc/v/3795553 Here is some matches of me vs MVD and 8bitman

Also yeah you're right Ffamran, I'm open to further discuss this region debate in the social thread if anyone desires to do so.

From kousetsukitsune's channel; he's LuminareFox and mostly plays as Ike and these are his matches against Timo's Olimar from his stream. Parts [1], [2], [3], and [4].

Hey guys! If you wouldn't mind helping me out a bit, I played on Oracle's (a R.O.B. player from DFW) stream earlier and my matches are still in his past broadcasts. If you have any advice/insults for me, please don't hold back!

I'm not a pro player, but here are my thoughts.
Against Peach
Was akward in the first half of the match, but after that you played very well. You begun to use more aerials (whichi I consider fine against peach) and did a nice work on recovering.

Against 1st Rob
It is a difficult MU, even though he didn't spam or use ROB as the usual player does. I like when you get the stock with Usmash, pretty awesome. But it left me a bad feeling when the meteor took your stock twice :(.

Against 3rd Rob
I would recommend you to use Dtilt some few times, it helps to condition your enemy to wait for those attacks and lead you a chance for a grab, because he will attempt to block that.
I would like to copy your guts for doing Usmash :p. I never use it and I regret about it.
This is just my opinion but I think you get too close, like a lot in this match.

Olimar Angbad vs TwicH Sonic

I liked how Angbad took off this game against Sonic. Usually I lost against Sonic :p.

Within a week there should be some games of me against Static Manny. I take the first set from losers of Grand Finals, but he takes set 2.

I'm the NitN in that video vs. Diddy. I honestly don't have a lot of match experience against Diddy so I was kind of flying by the seat of my pants haha. I'm always open to criticism of my play though. Tips and suggestions? Any techs that you guys thing I should be taking more advantage of? I don't toss Pikmin as much as some other players so I need to work on that I know.

I believe you did pretty well overall. I mean, besides of some mistakes (we are human after all), I would say it was good.
I didn't see any pivot-smash and when it's comes about Diddy, is a very good resource. Diddy is always trying to grab you, so a pivot smash usually punish that behave.
It's always hard to fight against Diddy, but in our favor Fsmash destroy the banana and hits Diddy when he is approaching. And this is always with any Pikmin.
By saying that... as the commentator said, Battlefield is awful for us against Diddy u.u .. I hate that stage x_x.

Battlefield isn't bad in my opinion. It may be a little small on stage, but the blastzones are a decent size.

That last pick, I banned Delfino and Castle Siege. I wasn't super comfortable on transformation stages so I banned those due to his having more experience on them. When we played our first match I banned Battlefield for that reason. I have a difficult time getting out of his DTilt. I got hit by it a couple of times and then got grabbed immediately. I think after the fact I thought about trying to fly out of it, but I was afraid to get put in a helpless state if I whiffed my attack out of it. Ultimately, I need to really learn better Pikmin management and how to respond to pressure(which is something that comes with experience I guess). I play extremely aggressively, which throws off some people, because they are expecting me to camp and not come in for the attack. I usually finish middle of the pack at the Foundry tournaments(highest placing was 9th of 60 something people), but I have taken some matches off some really good players.I'll work on the pivot smash. I got on stream again last night and won my match against a villager, but I played horribly(I was super nervous and hadn't practiced all week) so I hope it doesn't get posted haha.

I played horribly that day....it was the first match of the night and I was ridiculously nervous. I've been to the Foundry the last 5 times it has been on but getting used to playing in that kind of environment vs playing on For Glory at home is something else entirely.
I was doing pretty well at the beginning, but I got complacent and let Redman back in the game(Along with the mistake of trying to gimp Villager in that second match :-/). I've been practicing Pikmin control and pivoting(which is something I am very weak at for the moment). Hopefully I'll be a bit more presentable next time I get on stream.

It's just a time issue, you will get it :).
What I have to tell you, is how the Pivot Smash/Grab increase a lot our chances to do some serious damage. Especially on those characters like Ness or Diddy or any other player who likes to Grab.

At a general point, it does excelent damage when:
  • Escaping from your enemy to keep your distance.
  • He's hanging on the ledge and want to roll/get up/jump near to you.
  • After a successful read over Dash Attack.
  • Try to approach to you with a Short Hop + Aerial. (Mario does a lot of this to combo with normal attack x 3).
I was terrible doing Pivot Grabbing because I believed it wasn't good enough, now my game improved so much after I started to use it.

After that, you are not a bad player anyway.

@ Myran Myran (Olimar ) vs Static Manny (Sonic)

Man, I found this and it makes me sad. The pressure and movement displayed on this match, hurts my pride but are so awesome!
I'm so, so far away from you guys and I have so, so much to learn yet.

I seriously need to improve my skills.

You know it's funny. Recently I've been losing to Manny in Winner's Finals, then beating him in Grands set one, then losing set 2. It's just hard to keep up the level of play required to fight him.

But dude, you gave a tremendous show of what a skillfully Olimar can be. Even I noticed you DO pikmin management, god that's hard!
I can't find the proper words in english to express myself, but it is just amazing.
I mean, if I can do that, I could have the 70% of the match advantage everytime I play.

The difference at skill levels where you guys plays with the people I play, it's huge D:.
I don't know others good Olimars in my region (Coquimbo) but certainly I'm planning to be the best in my region and then in my country, and a lot of you guys are my inspiration, motivation and my role model.
I have to say that I'm the kind of player who try to always play safe and this **** doesn't help me at all.
Seeing matches of you, angbad, dabuz, etc, has opened up my eyes in a big way.

I would really, really like to play against any of you someday, if that could be possible.

Btw, why the commentators keeps saying things about the blossom Pikmins? Does affect now and I didn't knew? O_O
