Nah, they won't get rid of Marth. He's the original Fire Emblem lead... It would be like replacing Mario with Wario or something. Marth and his Falchion ain't going nowhere(sadly)... Besides, Marth's Falchion is the FE Icon in the Smash Universe...

Ike does look totally boss, though. I can see I'm going to have a hard time deciding who to play as besides my precious Luigi...

Lol, not necessarily. I think they're aiming for more overall characters. Like, if they put in Daisy, they'd still keep Peach. And johnz.

Brandon brings up a good point. Marth is the original FE lead, is the only FE character to have been featured in more than one FE game (though apparently the FE game for Wii features characters that were in the GC FE), his sword is the FE logo in Smash, had an anime adaptation made of the games he was in, was only kept in the American version of the game because the testers thought he was cool, was used by Ken, and was included in the Japanese game due to popular demand, a demand which I expect will remain consistent. If they removed any of the previous FE characters, it would be Roy, because Roy was actually in SSBM before his FE game was released in order to promote the game itself, and Ike seems more similar to Roy (Sakurai hints that his special move "Aether" can finish an enemy in a single attack; sounds like Roy's Flare Blade) . However, I think it would be cool if they didn't remove any FE characters and just increased the overall FE roster. Personally, though, I think that they'll only make the lead FE characters playable and make the others into assist trophies.

Also, you all seem to be assuming that if Marth is going to be in Brawl he would be as good as he was in Melee, and also that Ike won't be as good as Marth was in Melee.

Anyway, Ike is pretty cool, and I like that they announced another newcomer, though I still like Marth more.

Oh, when Roy appears as a baby? I suppose on a strictly technical level you're right (though then again, can Roy only appearing at the end of the game as a baby be considered as being "featured"? Doesn't seem important enough to say the game "featured" him, when looking at the dictionary's respective definition for this use of "feature", but I suppose that's a bit subjective), but the people on Wikipedia apparently don't count that.

I suppose I should have said stars in more than one FE game.

Anyway, I will say that I like how Ike's blade glows like that. I wonder if he'll set his opponents on 'light' (as opposed to fire or darkness) when he hits them with it.

Anyway, out of the characters they've revealed, my top three characters would probably be Ike, Meta Knight, and Pit.
