I was really hoping we could do it on campus just to attract attention from outside the actual smash-scene-proper. If we don't have that option, that would be pretty chill, though.

There was this dude at the OKGamers tourney yesterday who lives in OKC and plays fighting games. He said he couldn't really find the Smash community (he plays Melee and Brawl, but prefers Melee I think). Melee people should hit him up at donthebloody at gmail dot com.

I told myself I would learn how to texture hack and model hack, just so I can put Pokemon anime characters in the game and show off my stuff on Bulbagarden.

Same thing goes for hacking Sonic Generations stages and putting a Kanto, Orange Island, Johto, Hoenn, Battle Frontier, Unova, and two Sinnoh-inspired areas over them.

Route 1, Shamouti Island, Whirl Island/Tin Tower, Petalburg City, Sea Palace, Nimbasa City, Veilstone City and Mt. Coronet yeeeeeeeeah

I'm a student at OU. Honestly, though, I don't know if holding an on-campus RR is, at this point, an effective way to attract new people, at least if it was just us organizing it. For one, how would anyone else know about it? I don't think that anyone in our Melee scene is about to go post up fliers. An organization with advertising power like the animation society is really more suited for such an end. Moreover, I don't feel that, given our situation, a competitive event is the best way to get newbies to stick around; I think that something more casual would be better for that. Really though, attracting new Melee players here seems like an inherently difficult thing to do. So, I don't think that Outlaw's place is necessarily any worse of a place than campus to hold a RR. The location might even make it easier for more of us to show up, which right now I think is more important (and more practical) than trying to get new people to stick around.

The thing about having a tourney on campus is that it's generally closer to people and would be more attractive for non-competitive players who are nevertheless familiar with the scene. also, Brawl players. If I were a Brawl player in Norman, I would not drive to OKC for a melee tourney; I would stay home, get stoned and watch Whose Line. But if there's some **** going on locally, it's like a five minute drive or fifteen minute walk.

In other news, people should come play melee with me and Bryan today. Also, Andy and I both have wednesday off.

We grew up together in Kingfisher. We've been friends since we were like, three or four years old lol. I moved here to OKC just last year though.
