LOL, I was getting all worked up today over nothing. I guess things will be normal for me quite some time.... (yes!)

Zinth, just trust your gut feeling if you don't feel like to go. I felt like that too last time, it's not being negative, it's just better to sit it out sometimes. I'm sure glad I did.

Cool Brandon, you got the preview out.

BTW, the job was absolutely the worst one I have ever applied for. Never in my life I would have thought of quitting on the first month of work, but the FIRST DAY!?. I'd rather be unemployed :p I want to curse at them, but I don't want to bring myself down to their level, plus they're not even worth it. Now I got another interview coming up, glad I put down multiple apps.

That's good that things didn't crash and burn. I don't know what we'd do without our anti-elitist (lol).

Yeah, my gut feeling doesn't really tell me that it's right for me to go. Besides, my heart would probably be elsewhere (man, I am so passionate, lol) and I wouldn't be able to focus as well. Besides, at the very least, this way I can perfect my technique more before getting on stage.

What kind of job was it anyway, if I may ask?

I'm also interested in what job you applied for(so I never make the mistake of applying there lmao). I'm so pumped. Haha Shade I won't let you down man and I'm sure we will do fine. I've tried to get some practice in(about 2 hours a day) and I've noticed I have my good and bad days with Fox(and only Fox). So hopefully during the tournament I dont suicide off the edge with the fox illusion 3 times in a row on FD *sigh*.

Hey guys... remember, im home now so i have to rely on my friend Sara for internet (she rocks).

Ok, I'd be willing to take Shade BUT I most likely won't be able to take him back with me as I am more than likely taking the southern route home.

Sometime extremely soon though (before tomorrow) I need one of you guys addresses so i can get up to one of you guys places tomorrow so we can go from there. Please please please respond as soon as you can because I'm typing this message as I leave her place right now so I'll only be able to check it like tonight and MAYBE tomorrow. And I'm going to try to get AIM on my moms computer and just stay on so I can catch somebody on. it seems like you guys communicate alot so hopefully that will work.

I'm going to give you guys my moms phone number cus im staying with her tonight... if i dont talk to any of you guys or repost on here by about noon tomorrow (or whenever you guys get out of school etc.)... whoever's place im going to (if anybodys) call me and we'll go from there 918-799-5235... ask for Coty (pronounced just like cody) i should be there still. If not I'll call you back.

Thanks Rasta, you didn't have to do that but I appreciate it. I've been itching to see that East v West coast since it was posted up.

Yo Kansas, things happen, but whenever we face off, I'll be sure to bring it.

Shade, I found a song suitable for my low-tiers. It's by the Pillows, and the track is called "I think I can". It should be easy to find.

Southpaw, I'll try to get a hold of Po pimpus and see if we can get something started Friday noon. I'll let you know the dealio before the end of the day.

The company was steakhouse, UNquality meats. You get in a small truck and go way out in the country (by the Texas border), and try to sell meat to the shotgun-weilding locals (Yes, they literally stand behind their screendoor holding 12-gauges!!!O.O). It's a small company that is always hiring because people quit everyday, everyone else working there is anti-social, and you only get paid by your sales............... which NOBODY wants to buy because it goes for $180 a box! The worst part is that I was paired up with the company owner's son, who is not only a self-centered, immature prick, but (worst of all) racist. He was my race, but it doesn't matter who you are, I can't stand racist remarks (he REALLY discriminates, not the tasteless jokes you hear everyday). I was stuck with him coup'd up in a little truck in the middle of nowhere for 10 hours. He doesn't even have the dignity to warrant him the attention he's getting in my post. I should have got a hint that this job was a bad idea, especially when the interview just goes like this:

me-*gives application*
manager-*Doesn't even looks at it*, "You got a license?"
me-"yeah"
manager-*Starts walking away* "alright, go with him"
me-*Happy but somewhat confused*

After Work:

me-"Go figure"

^Yes, It was like that! :dizzy: Well I hope that's the last time I talk about it. It looks like they're going out-of-business by the way things are ran over there.

Atleast I still got my old job, like good ol' times.

Haha that is funny. Well, Shade, all I can say is... we need to pray before our 2vs2 matches LOL. We didn't get a single 2vs2 match in. Anyway, I can actually keep up with you now, its a miracle!(now I just have to work on beating you lmao). I think I beat you 4 times but you said 2 >_> <_<.

Alright Rasta I'll make sure to be over there at 4:00pm tomorrow. And also I need to make a note:

Rasta: Is borrowing my Xenosaga I

Shade: Is borrowing my Xenosaga II

Thats so I don't forget lmao. Well I hope I'm ready is all I can say...

Okay thanks Vega (hooray, i got my moms computer to work, lol, but dial-up sucks), hopefully I'll see you tomorrow. And it doesn't really have to be noon, I just threw that time out there, I could honestly be there anytime you want, I wouldn't mind if you said 8am lol.

But I'm glad Shade got a ride, thats awesome. I got your picture Rasta, and if I don't see you tomorrow, then I will at Dallas for sure (what hotel are you guys staying at?) I don't really have any available pictures of me... I am in a couple of the ones that neals dad took at champ combo though, I have the spiky brown hair, the glasses, and the black dickies shirt and I look pissed off in all of the pictures, lol.

You all should practice at the hotel. Bring a cube and an extra tv (incase the hotel's tv doesn't have av inputs). For that count, bring two cubes, cause if the hotel's tv does have av inputs, then you have two TVs to work with. Man I wish that I could have gone to this. It sounds soooooooooooooooo fun :(

Yeah, you guys should practice at the hotel, but make sure you get enough sleep. Oh, and Deck and I need to play both of you in teams before you head out. We are double Falcons in teams, the improved team "no deal".

Southpaw, I guess I'll have to take you up on that "8 in the morning" offer seriously. I actually just found out that Po has to work from 1pm to 9pm tomorrow so that may be the only alternative we can do. I'm going to see what he says in a minute.

By the way everyone, can you guys give me some insight and more feedback about the preview video Po released? It's in the very heart of the planning stage, so if you guys get any ideas on what to do/add/cut/modify then we are all ears. Thanks in advance.

I think that at some point during the summer, we should host a tournament here in Oklahoma inviting other states to join. Hopefully Shade will have a good showing at MLG to attract attention.

Hey, Vegafuse. If you and SouthPaw wanna get some matches in, come by my house around 11AM. (I am not a morning person AT ALL). I really wanna play you guys before you head out. I hate that I can't go... The one time everyone else is going, I can't be there... sheesh.

Also, I want to wish everyone good luck and the best advice I can give is to never give up. No matter how skilled your opponent, there is always an opening, a flaw in their playstyle that can be exploited. Even if you can't see it in that moment. If you happen to lose, don't take it too hard. "One must not fear death, only when one sees their own limits can one begin to surpass them." Don't know where that came from exactly, but basically: Know what you can and, more importantly, CAN'T do. Be the absolute best with your character that you can be right now. If there's a move or a technique you're not too good with, don't try it unless you're certain it will connect.

Be firm in your confidence and loose with your perception. If you see something you've never seen before; be it a new combo or a character you don't face too often, don't panic. They can't do anymore than you can. They are just as restricted in what the game will allow you to do as you are. When faced with a tough situation, just stand your ground, play your game and execute your moves like you know you can. You guys are some of the best players in Oklahoma-- I'm serious. You should know that.
I'm rooting for each and every one of you, so be sure to take a few top Smashers to school for me, okay?

Sorry for going all Mr. Miyagi on you all, but I think that this is OK's chance to shine on the big stage. Do us proud. (Man, I REALLY wish I could be there with you all.)

Lol. Hopefully you'll have a good showing too, that would be great. Shade's just the most likely to have a good showing though, cause he's Shade :p But yes, if two (or more :o) of us have a good showing, that'll be even better :chuckle:

Don't worry, nobody is forgetting you kosmOs.

Well said Po Pimpus, if us Oklahoma smashers were Jedi Knights, you know exactly who you would be, lol. 11am sounds like a plan, well I had more to post but I gotta go somewhere all of a sudden.

Lol, that was awesome. You are amazing, nam sdrawkcab :chuckle:

Good speech Po, now I'll make my contribution.

Here's a mindgame I use on myself sometimes. When you're playing, pretend that something special to you is on the line. Pretend that if you lose, that something special will disappear forever. Would you fail that something? Would you let yourself lose? Learn to play every stock like this. And if you do lose, pretend that you get a second chance. Would you let down that something again? Would you let yourself lose that something? There's always a way to win, you just have to find it and be able to exploit it. Also, when you enter a match, go in with the mindset that even one loss is NOT ok. Like when I was facing Scud at the tourney, I went in with that mindset, and in the first game, he got a two-stock lead on me at the start, but I DID NOT want to lose even ONE game and have things get close to me being knocked out of the bracket and have that risk and tension, so I came back and beat him, and then went on to win the second game and advance to the next round. And even if you do lose, TRY HARDER the next game. DO NOT get discouraged or lose your motivation. NEVER let that happen, because if it does, you WILL lose. That's kind of what happened to me at the tournament. Before it, I promised Shade that I wouldn't lose to anyone else. So I went on to face him in the winner's bracket, after winning a match against KOS-MOS that was ABSOLUTELY down to the wire that I would NOT let myself lose because of my drive, and lost, but after that I felt like I had accomplished something, and then I just didn't have as much drive. Then I faced KOS-MOS again in the loser's bracket and got creamed. NEVER stop to consider your accomplishment until it's all over. Otherwise if you feel like you have accomplished something, you will lose some drive and that WILL hurt you. Just remember, until it's all over, NOTHING is ok, but don't beat yourself up, just TRY HARDER. Get MORE DRIVE. You WILL go FARTHER that way. Lose ALL sense of accomplishment and failure until it's ALL OVER. If you get into the pro bracket, don't stop and think "hey, this is good, I made a great accomplishment, I'm feeling pretty good about myself," think "ALRIGHT YOU PRO-*** MUTHA****AS I'M GONNA KICK YOUR *****!!!!!" Only after it's ALL OVER can you think "you know, I did pretty good" because not only is that when you need that pat-on-the-back the most, but giving it to yourself earlier will make you lose drive, which is BAD BAD BADDDDDDDD!!!!! Have NO mercy. Just WIN and don't leave yourself with ANY risk. Play each game like it's your last, but don't think on failures, just KEEP GOING EVEN FASTER! And DO NOT GET COCKY! If you're kicking someone's ***, make it your mission to ****ING 4-STOCK THEIR ***!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy crap....that is the best thing I have ever read....Zinth for Jedi: Yoda!!!!!

EDIT: Vegafuse, Sorry, I got the dvd, I just couldnt get as much on it as I wanted, which Sucked ***. Ive got: SSBB trailer, Evolution, Frostbite (ChuDat combo vid, probably the best one Ive ever seen), and East coast v West Coast. Normally these wouldnt take up 4 gigs, but when you convert them to .vob the expand alot, this dvd is like 2hours and 15min I think.
I'll add the 1v1 matches when I get back from Dallas, I promised the 1v1 vids and combo vids, youll get them both.

Meh, I went to take my sister and the foreign exchange student to the grocery store. Lol, she criticizes my driving because she thinks I go too fast.

Anyways it was fun, because I got to stay in the car and wait........ yay for me. I forgot what I was going to say because my brain is trying to recover from being inactive for too long. (I demand Brain Age!)

Zinth, that was an awesome contribution from you. Everyone's probably hyped up by now since it's just a day away.

And Rasta, that sound's gravy. I'm going to ninja-pass you a $5 just because you know how to put effort into your products.

Live and Learn..........1v1's lost, but 2v2's....?

Heh, yeah. We're left behind to defend Oklahoma from out-of-state Smashers, lol.

As far as I know, they'll announce the starting brackets for the Am. Singles at 6pm. If only I could watch VoD.

BTW, I was with Southpaw all yesterday morning. We got kicked out of Po's house because he had to work so we went all over the city to find a place to play. He is good with Falco, about Shade's level. But the thing that worries me is that he is just one of the top-ten in Arizona. That means our fellow comrades down there may find this tourny a bit more challanging than expected, as I did when I with Southpaw.

Update: This was posted on MLGpro.com:

"The following teams advanced from the Amateur 2v2 for the Pro bracket, starting tonight at 10pm:

Rest in peace
Blood Edward Island
Shadow Claw.w1n
Wii
Rezo is a DYC
Moogle Paw
Lovey Ladies 13-1
Sword of DK
Gobstoppers 4 Life
Team 35
Team Broken Tier
Deadly Dadsliding
Nasty McNasterson
Team Titans
Team Zero
Impala"

Zinth, do you recognize any of those names? Is the bolded one Shade and Kosmos???

Update#2: Dust yourselves up and prepare for next year guys. We have a lot to look forward to.

"The following players advanced to tomorrow's Professional SSBM Singles Tournament

Taj
Leprachaun
Forward
Tetra
Dope
Z

Regardless of the upset, you guys will be coming back with something new.

Well, as far as the OK scene goes, the OC crew has been confirmed to have a reappearance this upcoming September. We (the O.F.Crew) use to have furious battles with them back in the day so let's see how well they'll fare against you guys (Shade's Crew, and the rest of the OK Smashers).

HOLY ****!!! I THINK THAT'S THEM!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S WHAT SHADE AND I'S DOUBLES TEAM NAME WAS!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! THEY REALLY DID IT!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did you find that on the site? I haven't been able to find it.

Heh, we'll totally kick those out-of-staters' ***** :chuckle:

Hmm, well Southpaw may be as good with Falco as Shade, but there is one important thing to keep in mind: Southpaw mains with Falco; Shade does not.

Sorry for the late response, I was at a wedding that had a really long reception.

Even though "Zero" is fairly popular to tag on to names, something just tells me that that's them.

Yeah, you're right about the Shade and Southpaw comparison. Unfortunately for me I didn't get to stay to watch those two go at it at Rasta's house. Gameface wanted to go somewhere the second we got there, but next time I'll come by myself.

Oh, and that DVD Rasta made ROCKS!!!!!!!

This is for Po Pimpus but I'm too lazy to PM it to him:

Man, it's too bad they weren't able to make it to pro singles. What I want to know is who beat Shade and by how much; all of the people who advanced are pretty well-known. I also want to know how far he got, as well as the others. I hope they've played against pros so we'll know how we compare against them.

However, if we're able to go to MLG Chicago in late July, I bet we'll be good enough by then to go even further, since they were able to make the pro bracket in doubles. I bet we'll be able to get at least one person in pro singles by then.

You know... As soon as I get me a video camera, I'm going ot record some of my computer fights and let ya'll see them. I just want you guys to see me play so you can get a rough idea of how I'd fare against you guys...though I think I already know how that would end up.

.......

MLG: Dallas, I knew we wouldnt get to the pro's, I knew it was just a learning experience, but what I didnt know is how much we would lose by, and why PRO's were in the Amature bracket. Ill get to all of that later, but I will tell you guys how things pretty much went....

4pm, moms not here, shade is pretty bummed and I tell him that we will be leaving at 6pm. 6pm comes around, moms still not here, shade is again, pretty bummed and starting to get agrivated. 7pm we FINALLY start to leave, we go pick Kuni up and he has the best sushi ever waiting for me.

The 3 hour ride down there seemed alot longer since we were all excited and couldnt wait for MLG. We get to the hotel room at about 12 or so, and instead of getting a good nights rest, we were practicing for MLG untill 2. I woke up at 6am, did some pushups to get my blood flowing so Id be awake, took a shower, then started practicing smash. Everybody wakes up around 8, Shade and KOSMOS are practicing for the doubles, we leave for MLG at 9, but we dont directions. For 20 minutes my mom is trying to get directions. After about 22 minutes shade tells me to go get my mom, I try and find her at the front desk, she isnt there, I go back to the car and she is waiting for me, but guess what, Shade and KOSMOS left to try and find me. So, Me and Shanx go in the hotel trying to find Shade and KOSMOS, we eventually find them and then we were off to MLG!!!

It is now 9:30 and we start to leave, registration ends at 10am, and we are getting worried. When we get there we are relieved to find that we can still register, they kept it open for about 30 min after 10am. Now here comes the exciting part, Shade and KOSMOS (Yes, Team Zero is their name) are nervous, they are both marth and just dominate the competition. For a straight hour they dominate their players in their pool (5 teams or so, they played about 7 or 8 different teams) and didnt lose a single match. Now, Husband and Wife are judges and were impressed and wanted to play them against teams, but unfortunately they call all team leaders to the Smash area for their names and didnt play them, but that is still a big compliment.
So now 2v2 is over and here comes the 1V1 RIGHT!!!??? Wrong, we were all in the 90-126 registration number, which meant we had to wait untill 1-60 were done which would be an hour and 30 minutes. Nope, wrong again, it was more like 3 hours untill we got to play, but Ill get back to that later.
Things youll need to know at MLG:
1)ChuDat looks a villian from some crazy *** movie, but hes cool to talk to (Yes I met and had conversations with these people, all of them)
2)Ken is an awesome guy, dont be all scared of him, Im sure the first time you talk to him, all your stereotypical thoughts will be blown away, mine were.
3)If you look at Isai he will come and talk to you guys about smash, he even brought smash 64, sadly I didnt play it. He is also the only person that will tell you how to beat him if you fight and lose against him.
4)KillaOR is just as annoying as he was in East Coast v West Coast, but he knows how to take a joke and is easy to talk to. Pay$ went up to him with $10 in ones and said "Look man, this is $10, this is good money for playing a video game" and he just laughed. Hes cool.
5)It doesnt matter how many pictures of DBR team youve seen, King is the only person that resembles his picture, and Zelgadis is weeeeeeiiiiiiiirrrrrddddd.
6)Be prepared to wait for hours on end. Me, Shanx, and Pay$ waited 8 hours before we even played one match.
7)Get used to them saying on the Mic "Halo FFA will start in 10 minutes" every 10 minutes, get used to the common "OOOOOHHHHHHHHH" from about 20 people looking at guys playing Halo2
8)Dont think about Halo2 and why there are 20x more TV's than smash and wonder why they didnt bring any more for smash, it will just make your head hurt.
9)BRING YOUR OWN FOOD/DRINKS. A can of sprite is $3, a 20ounce 7up is $3, a Salad is $7, a hotdog $5, redbull is $4. It is just insane, there arent any places to eat close to there either.
10)And Finally, expect players that are "Pro" to be in the amature bracket. I will now get to this.

Dope, Dope is obviously a pro,yet they made him play in the amature bracket, same with King and Zegadis, obviously they dominated the compition. I will start with my story first.

Since they 1-60 took so long, they decided to shorted the stock, so it was now 3 instead of 4. Doing pretty good, I see this Ness player has skill, I hate playing ness, but figure I can take him. They were good matches, Im not going to say anybody got owned or anything like that, they usually came down to the last lives. I lost 2 matches against that guy, never played a good ness before, didnt expect it. Then came the Donkey Kong, again, I analyzed the match and figured if I stuck with IC's I could beat her, didnt pretty well, again came down the last life, yet I was an idiot and thought my Roy could hold up against her DK, wrong, 2 stocked. Feeling pretty bad I still kept a cheerfull disposition, I still new I would do bad, but I didnt think Id get beat by a Donkey Kong and Ness. The rest of my matches were easy, a guy chose Sheik, so I chose Ice Climbers, did pretty good since I have no training against a Sheik, it was 1 win for him 1 win for me. Same goes for the fox, I stick with IC's the whole time, 1win for me 1 for him. So I win about 1/2 of the, but unfortunately it isnt good enough. I am eliminated with out ever playing in the winner/losers bracket, I feel like complete ****.
I go and see shade, and realize he doesnt have his glasses or his NY hat one, something is wrong. His first match he had to go against King, yes the King from DBR. Needless to say, he lost both matches, he was like me, the first match in 1v1 he couldnt keep from shaking, or so Pay$ tells me. All together I hear he faced atleast 6 jigglypuffs, which is his worst character he fights. It sucks, so I go and find KOSMOS, he didnt make it either, I wont go into details (because I really dont know them), but he hates Falco and Jigglypuff even more.
Unfortunately Pay$ was in the wrong Pool and missed all his matches, he didnt even get to play once.
Shanx, on the other hand, was the only person to Advance to the Winner's bracket, we were all surprised, but he said only 2 people in his pool knew how to wavedash, so I guess he was a winner as soon as he got in it. Unfortunatley he lost to a good fox, and Shanx, when everybody has their weight on your back, kinda stood still. You can never do what you want to do, is what he told me, and believe me, that is very true.

Ill save Team Zero for KOSMOS and Shade when they get here.

Guys, Ill say this, everybody there had the same amount of tech skill, Im not joking, the same amount....the mindgames, however, we were very far behind, so Im telling you guys right now, if we dont do something to help us develop these faster and more....tricky, there is no way we will stand a chance at any Smash tounry.

EDIT: Vega, Im sorry to say this, but Low Tier Characters have no chance in these kinds of tourny's. Once they find the small flaw in any character, or a big flaw in the low tier characters, they will exploit it to hell and back. You saw Soldier of Fortune, ya, well all those Marth's were Ken, and you saw the way he dominated Ken, the only reason Ken won is because of chain grabbing him to 50% and tipping him. Bombsoldier is by far the best smasher, but people wont agree with me because he cant beat ken, because Ken change grabbed him to hell and back. To stand a chance in these kinds of tourny, High, Upper, and Top characters are about the only ones that have a chance. I am sticking with Roy, but I am also playing:Falco, Sheik, and Marth. I am also playing IC's alot more than Roy, no reason to keep playing with Roy untill my mind games develop more and the only way to do that is to practice with top characters, find there flaws, then have Roy exploit them. It might work for you too, but I gaurantee you it will be so much harder.
