kline youre not allowed over until you learn how to use your shield and actually take my advice, otherwise im not gonna waste my hand energy and time.

also change your avatar and signature, theyre both really sloppy and make me want to attack every post you make. im tempted to go find better m2 pics for you because those, aside from the small mewtwo in the middle of your sig, are awful.

edit: your smashboards persona is obnoxious enough, those just make it worse.

Dam son, I was definitely taking your advice from the past.

+Started cg more with fox
+Stopped uptilting at such low percents
+You said I was doing the right thing at the right time, and that I was getting better. That was at tophs house.
+Stopped upthrow shine bairing all the time, and my hit percent with the shine bair has gone up tremendously.
+Stopped reverse lasering to ledge grab on account of it not being tight, other methods are better, and apparently eggz said in his podcast it was the fastest way to grab the ledge and he does it.*shrug*

+Been a bit better at comboing into uptilt
+Practice tech skill and have increased my consistency as well as being able to do more technical things.
+Im more patient
+Laser more, except I still like to shdl instead of single
+figured out that I need to dash more with marth, instead of WD as my initial step.
+When getting cg my marth as fox, Di slightly behind and try to shine out

These are the things I have and have been working on^^^^^
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-I need to stop upthrow nairing with marth bcuz it ends the cg.
-go for the bair from the ledge more often instead of ledgehop dair.
-stop moonwalking with fox, marth, falco(Im not gonna lie. I prob wont stop)
-Need to upthrow upair better with fox, you said I was a bit too slow.
-I didnt have this prob at tophs, but at your house I didnt chase with my shine very well at all.
-Marth I can upthrow and fsmash if you Di away.
-You said dont fthrow a spacie very much at all. Its best to just upthrow.

-Use your shield better???? I can think of some things, but if you are point out flaws some specifics would be nice.
-You have also been telling me to CC shield grab fox's nair which Im doing more, but still not consistent.

Just know that I definitely hear you when you tell me things. I usually just go home and work on them. Sometimes, me doing dumb **** is the result of me not being able to handle your consistent pressure. Also the last time I came over I didnt really want to play, but I figured Id be able to work on some things. My hands were a little sore and I wasnt in the smash mood. It was kinda like when you told me I should take opportunities to play ppl when I can, so I came over anyway.

It doesnt take very long for me to learn something, but I need to be able to practice it, and usually I am not very good at doing that in game. If I focus on 1 or a couple things during a match I cant focus on playing the match itself.

Dashing, and doing **** oos are what Im working on most right now, and then multi moonwalking with fox. Doing things oos are harder for me because I cant practice that alone. I can only shine oos consistently and waveshine a bit now. I have a hard time with marth fairing oos or shield DIing. I seem to do it too early or too late.

As far as my avatar and sig, I was planning on making a new one when I got around 2 it. But if you can find some better pictures go ahead. If I like them Id gladly use them.

If you feel like you are wasting your time smashing with me then I wont come over anymore ***. But you cant expect ppl to be able to do anything you tell them instantly. Just sayin.

i didnt mean you dont listen to anything i say, i mean you blatantly ignore or dont bother to work on things i tell you to at times that keep getting you punished. moonwalks mainly. also you always go for shines as fox and dont do anything out of them, the most useless thing you can do. you may as well laser and do the same damage from a distance. you even go for uthrow shine instead of just usmashing and dont do anything after it.

when i say work on using your shield, i mean at least try shielding in the first place and get used to how it works. it seems like you have no idea what to do with it. ive told you to use shield and wd away when you can to avoid pressure and you still dont even try to. why bother specifying if youre not gonna do it anyways, even after its the reason your getting 4 stocked multiple times in a row.

imo you should just play people around your skill level for a while before you come over, i dont enjoy playing lv 8 computers. if you dont actually want to play, dont bother coming over wasting my time sandbagging me, do you know how ridiculous that sounds? it seemed like you wanted to play after i told you id post it if i triple 4 stocked you, but whatever.

EDIT: i prolly didnt respond to all of your post, i only read it once. **** was too long.

EDIT 2: you also need to focus on what you do after these things i tech you. it seems like you do things right for the msot part with mewtwo and have no idea what youre doing at all with any other character. my advice would be to stick with 1 other character besides mewtwo. having a bunch of horrible characters amounts to nothing.

I wasnt sandbagging at all and never said or tried to insinuate that I was so please dont take it that way. Most of the time you text me, I am actually practicing melee and just wishing I had somebody to play with. I was just a bit tired from smashing all week and then tophs. I tried the whole time I was there(Wolf's Den), I just got wrecked. I was only trying to take the opportunity to get better so I came over. I wasnt against smashing I just wasnt fiendin and I was a bit tired.

-I already said I needed to work on chasing your out of shine. I was ok at tophs, but did a terrible job at your house.
-As far as shielding, I usually WD when trying to move. I realized that and have been dashing(remember I asked if it made sense that maybe I was trying to WD too much). Second I said I try to WD oos too early or too late. I then roll or are WDing back and cant shield immediately. I do try to Wd back oos, I get it sometimes, but Im just not good at it.

Thats not me blatantly ignoring you, except the moonwalk I will admit, thats me not being able to do it. Ive told you multiple times, im bad oos. I practice at home alot, but I dont know the timing and I cant practice that alone.

I dropped all of my non m2 characters except fox and marth. I play fox ALOT more, but that particular day I wanted to work on fox marth. Id play m2 only, but you guys get bored. So I switch.

Yea to be honest, I think (recently) Kline has been making some serious attempts to "play smart" and improve, I also noticed he was giving Austin some decent advice.

But Kline, you really should focus on Mewtwo and 1 other character. Don't drop Mewtwo cuz you should play who you love, but I think you gotta stick with either Fox or Marth. Just til you get ****. Then you can play everyone.

Re: Wavedash OOS under pressure, guess what, I suck at it too, but that's just the kind of thing you have to go for in friendlies for practice's sake, just suck it up and go for it. Try timing the wavedash OOS after the shine, as opposed to after the aerial, I think that's how everyone from Socal seems to do it (Zhu, Julian... well both Julians I guess lol) and they were getting me hard for trying to do simple Falco shield pressure at first.

aight. just seemed like you werent trying to get better because you kept trying to do moonwalk bairs and useless shines even after i told you to stop. it annoys me when you continue to do those things, theyre a waste of time.

-I already said I needed to work on chasing your out of shine. I was ok at tophs, but did a terrible job at your house.

i dont see what "I usually WD when trying to move. I realized that and have been dashing(remember I asked if it made sense that maybe I was trying to WD too much)." has to do with shielding, unless its related to the second part of what you said, which would make saying "second" misleading. When i say use wd out of shield, i mainly mean once something comes in contact with your shield, so just wait for something to come in contact with your shield and then wd, then you wont do it too early or too late. as for when you can get away with it, experiment, im not going to tell you everything you can and cant avoid. this doesnt mean sit there with your shield up though, use it as sparingly as you can, get used to knowing when its safe to use it. hope that helps a little bit. practicing with me isnt a very good way to get batter at this. even if you show signs of improvement, it will still be just as easy for me because i already know what to do. if vista can go to a concert im sure you could convince him to smash every once in a while. if not, try to play with syler and those guys or something.

Thats not me blatantly ignoring you, except the moonwalk I will admit, thats me not being able to do it. Ive told you multiple times, im bad oos. I practice at home alot, but I dont know the timing and I cant practice that alone.
i mainly meant you may as well blatantly ignore me when i tell you what not to do with fox, according to the way you were playing me, even after me telling you not to play like that. if you play vs computers, try practicing practical combos, and master those before you get anywhere near uthrow shine combos. but yeah, you were even trying to work on your shield game. its not like you would get ***** much worse if you were to try practicing it a little vs me, so as far as i could tell you were just ignoring my advice. but i guess you werent so good thats good.

I dropped all of my non m2 characters except fox and marth. I play fox ALOT more, but that particular day I wanted to work on fox marth. Id play m2 only, but you guys get bored. So I switch.
imo you should get better with 1. 2 characters means bothering to learn the match ups with both of them, as well as all the character specific things that go along with that. as you actually progress with 1, which takes much less time if its just 1 char, you begin to acquire universal skill and learning other characters later is a synch. only playing vs people as much as you do makes it take even longer too, because its a lot harder to stay used to multiple characters, making learning them take longer.

i think you can get away with that vs falco, but not fox. if falco does and aerial you can wd away for sure, assuming its not right when hes landing. not sure about fox. shine oos after aerial if youre fox or falco works for sure though

@otto-I meant that I WD as my initial step too often. Dashing is much more effective. You still have options during the beginning and every frame matters. You will see me WD back to call your approach, and Ill hold shield, but it just doesnt come up fast enough from a WD.

I need to work on oos stuff-wd, fair, shield DI into grab- but You ***** me the most out of me WDing back and not being able to shield. You could then literally take me across the stage and Its hard to get out of those combos. Lol and all that rolling was me trying to WD too early oos. I tend to think things need to be done alot faster than they do cuz they look fast.

and The shine stuff, sometimes I was getting punished for being really aggressive after the shine so I tried backing off a little. I ran into get up attack a few times and sometimes you shined me from the stand and started a combo of your own.

I think I should work on jump cancel shining oos/or waveshining instead of jumping back with the shine and double jumping out of it. It takes too much time and thats prob why I couldnt follow up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel it toph.

Most of the time I think I know what to do, Im just not use to doing it. So Im not as fluid and transition poorly.

I play marth because it helps with my spacing, and fox cuz it helps with my tech skill. Falco is my actual main jk. But maybe I do need to pick one. Ive just noticed that some of the things I need to work on they come from both characters. My spacing use to be atrocious. Marth has helped me with that. and Fox is just allowing me to do what I actually want to do.

Im positive that I get hit trying to WD back(not oos just in general to counter fox nair) because you cant shield right away. I need to dash away. When vman and taj was lookin at a couple of my m2 matches they both just said I need to run more.

The only thing I can do oos consistently is nair with m2 and shine with fox. I suck at fairing and wding oos. I try, I just wont be able to do it until I get it. cant really do anything except try harder.

Im sure Id get it alot faster if we could like practice it for like 10-30 minutes(like you just shield pressure me and I wd oos). Then Im pretty sure Id just be able to do it. Thats the easiest way for me to get timing down, is doing them correctly. Otherwise I have to find the timing and it takes longer.

I started jump canceling my upsmashes again instead of dash canceling lol.

playing marth only helps you with your marth spacing, and playing fox only helps you with your fox tech skill. sure playing either can help your hands get used to moving a bit faster, but thats not the hard part about learning a character, its adapting to that characters specific requirements. while youre spending time practicing marth, theres the opportunity cost of being that much worse than fox. im not saying playing marth makes you worse with fox, im saying that time could have been dedicated to making that character better rather than holding you as a player back in general. trust me, getting **** with a character with a lot of options makes it much easier to learn them later. its much more worth it to work on one character and just further yourself in general first.

OK. So Ill play m2 fox then. I pretty much considered myself a m2 fox main aka big homie/lil homie.

I spent more time with marth overall but I guess thinking about that I got better with fox in alot less time because I was pretty much only playing fox.

Fox would be the better choice, seeing as how your more tech skill oriented. imo it would take a lot longer for you to be able to be decent with marth than fox.

I'm looking for a smash community in WA or just some people to play melee with. I'm definitely not pro or anything 1337 but I really enjoy the game. I'm in the Tacoma area and I guess I'm just an average player since I have no one better to play with in my neighborhood so I'm interested in playing with most anyone.

Guh, that just sounded like some bootleg dating preference. Anyways, catch me on skype if possible.

Some of the South Seattle players should get at this guy.

Btw do you have a car? There's gonna be a smashfest this Friday afternoon near UW Seattle, and there's also a tournament on Saturday in Bellingham (WWU) if you can make it.

I can drive. I was up at UW about 2 weeks ago for another video game tourney. I heard gimpyfish was gonna be there but I couldn't find him and all that was there was brawl...bad brawl except a good yoshi player and no melee. It was a big disappointment but I still made some friends and watched some pretty da.mn good mvc2 and ssf4 players.

If you can get me some more specific info on those tourneys, I might be able to make it. I'm really interested but my summer is hella busy so I need to plan ahead lol.

And in Lynwood- This place called GC.

Pretty much every 2nd saturday of the month there is a tournament. Those are the standard WA smash events, and there is usually a smashfest very close to UW once every two weeks. There is one this friday.

Everyone is really nice except for Kline. and Vish isnt much better. So keep your distance, they have been known to flash on ppl or flake and leave you hangin.

Welcome to WA smash ^__^

Just checked out the link but I don't think I can commit to a 3 hour drive on short notice. Thanks for the link though. How about the "smashfest" in Seattle? That's a more reasonable 45 minute drive. Lynnwood "GC" sounds interesting too--though it's a bit more distanced, I can probably stop by once in awhile.

I should maybe mention that I'm going to be absent during the summer since I'm going to do some schooling over on the east coast but after that, I can chill and play some melee. I'm probably leaving mid June and coming back early August.

Yea Kline is always flashing ppl, showing them his big a$s black ******* and they're all like. @_@
Flashing on ppl is more like what Kris does. when he instantly gets angry and starts name calling-it happens very quickly, like a flash of light.

That dude, I dont know what the **** ppl were thinking having fun playing Street Fighter. There is no way you can play a "competitive fighting game" casually and still have fun.

Big blocks of text... i can't believe i just spent time reading all that ****, felt like i've been trolled for 2-3 pages of smash boards x_X. With that said lol, yeah my chances of going to dan3 aren't looking too good. =/ but maybe i'll be in Wa in a week or two idk we'll see.

@gboyredgun: well i use to live in tacoma and had a group to play but i currently live in oregon x_X but i may be moving back there real soon i'll try to hit you sometime and arrange something for you to play them.

@bigblack: yeah i'd have to agree with otto on u focusing on 1-2 peeps so you can be more ****, think armada even said that in an interview.

@toph: i don't think i'll get to play you before you leave for japan :( but i hope ur enjoy ur time there buddy.

MVC2 was absolutely scary to watch though (I never really got into fighting games beyond smash). I saw cable/blackheart/sentinel/storm/magneto almost exclusively and i remember seeing a x3 cable team. All those infinite combos and that game just gets discustingly fast at high play uggh.

Street fighter was pretty tit--at least from the sidelines. Esp. watching this balrog player take the champion spot. There were some hardcore ragers like this one akuma player who was spiffy but got nailed by a couple random ultras. Still, gg.

oh, and I got a free copy of some Hello Kitty game, I thought it was for the wii since it was a white case so I grabbed it cause my wii library hasn't expanded since mariokart came out but it was for pc so I'll prolly never install it.
