Am I allowed to add questions? If so, I want some Ike info:

Is he as fast as Marth or is he slower now?

Are his jumps still as high as Marth's?

Is his Up+B as good as Marth's for recovery?

Does he have a Marth alternate costume?

Is he overall better or worse than Marth?

And any other Marth to Ike info.

EDIT: OH! And ya know people have been saying airdodging is based on momentum now?
Does that mean if your running to the right and you jump and airdodge, you'll go right no matter what direction you press?

His runspeed's like Roy's but a lot of his attacks have Bowser fsmash-esque lag. I haven't figured out which attacks have flinchproof properties, though(aside from the confirmed up+b)

Are his jumps still as high as Marth's?
Kinda. I want to say his jump's actually a little shorter than Marth's, though.

Is his Up+B as good as Marth's for recovery?
It goes a little shorter than Kirby's up+B - and Ike's up+B is just like Kirby's in trajectory and motion.

Ike does get to use forward+B(a charge forward) to help with recovery though.

Does he have a Marth alternate costume?
He has several colors that almost had me confuse him for Marth, if that counts.

Is he overall better or worse than Marth?
If you liked using Marth for his comboability/speed/flow, then I'd say definitely worse.

If you liked using Marth for the power of the tippers, then I'd say better.

Ike is a powerhouse character, but you have to utilize those no-flinch frames I think. Well, that and play hella mindgames

EDIT: OH! And ya know people have been saying airdodging is based on momentum now?
Does that mean if your running to the right and you jump and airdodge, you'll go right no matter what direction you press?
Yes, this is true. There's some lagtime after you airdodge where you can't do anything, but unlike in Melee, you can act right after airdodging. So if you have extra jumps or an up+B, you can use those as well if you're still falling.

Wow, thanks man you answered every single one!

I'm kinda annoyed that Ike ain't as fast anymore...I mean, he has a two handed sword now so it was kinda inevitable..

Could you answer one more question?

If I liked playing Marth for his speed and overall awesomeness, who should I main out of the available characters you've seen in the brawl demo?

EDIT: Oh crap, um, also, Is Fox truly badly nerfed or should I still semi-main him? I used to main Falco, because I went off Marth for a bit.

Also about Fox's shine, is it more falco-esque now or just the same? Or something worse!?

Eh, that's a great question, actually. I DON'T KNOW.

I'm sticking with Yoshi through all the good and bad changes, but as for the other characters...

I would say try out Metaknight or Pit. Both have quite a bit of comboability and speed. Plus they look freaking awesome in some of their alternate outfits.

Well, he's been slowed down a bit - which I agree with. Fox's fallspeed has also been decreased substantially as well, too.

That's not to say he's completely useless, he's still a solid character to play as, just not as WHOOSH IM IN YOUR FACE NOW YOU'RE SHINED kinda (overpowered) character.

Also about Fox's shine, is it more falco-esque now or just the same? Or something worse!?
Yeah, about that.

Though it still sends them at a similar trajectory as in Melee, it's a mix of the lack of wavedashing, the new changes to jumping out of the shine AND increased distance? to the shine's knockback(I'm guessing to prevent shine combos from being TOO easy)

Thanks very, very much.

I guess I'll try out Pit, I like his character and if he's a speed based character and a good one at that, I'll main him no question.

It's good to hear that Fox isn't hella nerfed, I'll secondary main him.

Pit/Fox. Fitpox. Poxfit. Xoifpt. Angel Fur. Ok, no good nicknames come with it.

I'm sorry to keep bursting out questions, but in your opinion:

Is this game more enjoyable or at least close to the same amount of enjoyment as melee? Has any changes decreased or increased the fun significantly in your opinion from what you've played.

How about DO AN ANGEL ROLL

Hmm...

some pros and cons

+The system's gotten back to its 64 roots with character intros and slower system
+It's a revamped smash brothers~
-The slower system makes it feel more clunky, or I'm too used to melee
-The Wiimote controls suck.
-I think some final smashes aren't as balanced as others. Could be me, though

despite all that, I still had fun playing the demo. Keep in mind everything here might not be final, so we can expect some other stuff to be possibly get tweaked or revamped as well.

I changed my mind about maining fox now ¬.¬.

I'm gonna main Pit and Sonic.

Thanks again.

EDIT: Nah, I'm gonna main Pit and Meta Knight.

I dunno why but I just lost intrest in Sonic. **** I'm fussy.

But dosen't this sound cool?

Meta-Angel.

OR

AngelKnight.

I don't care if anyone answered these already as there's waaaay too much to read, but I'm going to give my input anyway.

- Does gliding with MetaKnight allow you "WaveLand" when well angled against a surface? If so, can you glide out of his second jump? And if so, can you DJC into glide? And if so, again, can you WaveDash via DJC into Glide WaveLand?
He has lag after landing with his Glide, so there doesn't appear to be any way to "Waveland" as of yet. You can glide out of aerial jumps as well as out of Up+B. To glide out of a jump, I just hold the jump button, so I don't see how you can DJC into a glide... especially since not even Yoshi DJC's anymore. You have to angle his glide up and down with the control stick to keep him flying, otherwise he goes down nose first and hits the ground.

I'm going to have to try out more tricks with Gliding and jumps in general today since there's little time to test everything even when I'm at the convention all day playing Brawl. One note of interest: you can Jump into an Air Dodge, then jump into another Air Dodge for as many jumps as you have.

My friend wants some answers.

How strong and fast is Sonic?

Is his Final Smash smexy? (Easy to do.)

What alternate costumes has he got?

Is Meta Knight better than Pit?

Are any characters broken?

Is the game balanced?

(Don't blame me for this question, this is my friend.) Is Sonic the best character in brawl.

Does the fact that all the stages have things that'll kill or disorientate you ruin the battles?

Can Fox's Down B reflect any Final Smashes, AT attacks or Pokemon attacks?

Can you (air)dodge out of tripping ? If dodging now relies on momentum, I'm curious to see what happens if you actually can.

Please add these questions!

Pikachu

Does the lag on Pikachu's b-attacks change any?

Are Pikachu's smash attacks still the same? Do they seem similar in their execution?

Are Pikachu's aerials still the same? Do they seem similar to melee in execution?

Does pikachus down b have a cloud? Is it higher than before?

Does pikachu's forward be have more range and/or power?

Does Pikachu have more range in general?

Were any characteristics of pichu integrated into pikachu?

- Does Ike do bonus knockback from the tip of his sword like Marth?
No.

- Does the day/night cycle in Battlefield change the stage layout in any way?
No.

- Does the season cycle in Yoshi's Island effect the stage in any way?
No. The only effect I might have overlooked was the winter one, but I'm sure that my traction was normal on that.

- Can you grab the edges of the flying platform in Delfino Plaza?
The main platform, yes.

- The edges of Eldin Bridge - are they easy to just toss someone off like in stages such as Flatworld, or is there a barrier? Is there a grabbable ledge for ledge guarding techniques on the edges of the stage?
You can run/roll into the blast edges, so it's like Mushroom Kingdom/Flatzone in that regard. It's still a big level, though.

Thanks Eltrotraw! I'll add those answers in. I hope some of the other E4A players can answer most of the rest of the questions.

I've been reading through Gimpy's thread, and the answers to a couple of these questions have come up.

- Can Bowser move forward and back and/or jump during his Nuetral-B (flame breath), like you can with items like the super scope and fire flower?
He can't move, but he can AIM it. I've heard about Gimpyfish aiming the firebreath up, hitting someone in the air, and then dragging them to the ground, as well as aiming down and bathing the edge in fire as an edgeguard. I'm not sure if you can jump...it might come up when he officially updates his impressions late tonight or tomorrow. It makes me wonder if other projectile-type specials can be aimed...

- Is Diddy's banana peels (down+B) the same as the item? How often can you drop them? Do the disappear after a while? Can other people pick them up and use them? Is it really a useful move in some inobvious way (because it seems useless...)?
I hear there's a limit to two bananas being onscreen at a time. Other people CAN pick them up and throw them. Because of that, it didn't seem like they had any immediately apparent application, but that may change when people understand the move better.

Oh, and by the way, the "Does Link's Hylian Shield still block projectiles while standing/crouching" question isn't highlighted.

I just had a random thought that I don't think warrants an entire new thread, wonder if someone could answer for me:

Would it not be possible for Nintendo to update Brawl through Wii-fi connections?

Say they discover too late that some character is garbage-teir in almost all situations [for some reason or another: unexpected consequence of the physics or something, remember, its just a random example] after the game ships? What's to stop them from updating/adjusting/fixing this greivous error for playability's sake?

Games get updated/have glitches removed/have content added through Xbox-live [pardon my language] all the time, so I don't see why it wouldn't be viable in this situation. If I am ignorant of something, set me straight, please! **The more you know :D**

Also, in the same vein, could additional costumes/game modes/characters be added the same way if the developers chose to do so? [This is a hypothetical, so don't tell me how that would be a terrible idea or unfair to those who dont have an internet connection on their Wii.]

I feel like a broken record but are we absolutely sure that you can grab the ledge even with your back to it during Up-B? i saw a video with peach where she missed the ledge because her back was to it.

Maybe its just a Link thing, since he's spinning around...?

No not sure on that, what we are sure is that if you FALL past the ledge while facing away from it in the blinking disabled state AFTER your up+B you CAN grab the ledge from behind you. However, during the upwards movement or, in peach's case, when she is still floating and not free-falling, we aren't sure that necessarily means you can grab the ledge behind you.

Although, we are pretty sure you can grab ledges on the way UP with your Up+B if you are facing it (perhaps not if you aren't facing it, unless you are spinning like Link).

If you throw a pitfall at someone who is in midair, what happens? Do they automatically get teleported into the ground? Or do they just take damage? Sorry if this has already been asked.

They take some damaeg and get spiked - I'm assuming the distance they're spiked depends on their damage. I remember I tossed one at a Samus above me at 120% and she went flying down below Pokemon stadium(she was like 3 Samuses above me at least)

hmm more questions

I want more info on the lag on aerials, like how much each character has on each of their aerials.
Can Fox still drill-shine? Or is there too much lag on drill and too much starting lag on shine?

It'd also be nice to lay out all of each characters' moves.

And I want to know if anyone used Kirby in the adventure mode, and what their impressions on him are.

hmm

And I really hope tumbles can be cancelled. My thought was that the "Dash Break" was probably a cancelled tumble. Hope I'm right.

Hey, I got question - what where the T-shirts like at E For All? Were any of them Brawl-themed at all, or were they all just regular Wii t-shirts?
