Any of you know how to import CCS textures to Dolphin, I got the Acryte HD Shine Theme 2.0 but there are gale 01 folders and I don't know where they go.
Locate the Dolphin folder and then place them as follows:
(YOUR DOLPHIN FOLDER)\User\Load\Textures\GALE01

Then go into your graphics settings and under the advanced tab enable "Load custom textures"

If some of the textures aren't showing up, you may need to rename that texture file. What you do is this...
In the graphics configuration under the advanced tab, turn on "dump textures". Then load the game and go to the CSS and SSS and whatever part of the game that is supposed to show that texture you're missing... Then quit out of the emulator after it has loaded.

go to:
(YOUR DOLPHIN FOLDER)\User\Dump\GALE01

Inside this folder it will have dumped all the textures. Find the texture that isn't showing up, copy the name of that file and change the other file to have the same name as that one. This should work for all your files that aren't showing up.

How did you import _14 textures over _0 or _1 textures, or ones without palettes?

Select a _1 or _0 texture and head to the properties tab. The area that i circled, or basically the very last digit of the headers, determines the texture type. Since the texture is a _1 texture, this digit is going to be 1. I wanted to make this _1 texture into a type _14, so i had to change the last digit to "e", because "e" is 14 in hex. Hit enter and change all of the final digits to e. When you import a texture, make sure it ends in _14 and you should be good to go. This may or may not work if you wanted to use a different texture type other than _14, but this was my process. Let me know if you have any more questions

Thanks, I posted a link on discord but never made it public. I'll probably upload what I have soon. Changing models are possible, but it's different than whats done here. Could anyone make a Fox skin as the Driver from the movie Drive, with the scorpion jacket? I think I've seen the skin before, but I can't find it so I'm not sure. I would really appreciate if someone could find / make it.

An obvious thing I've always wondered; how can you change a texture meant to replace a specific color to another color?

If I had a Fox texture on Blue and I wanted it over Red how do I change a file from PlFxGr to PlFxOr?

Edit: Figured it out. In case anyone else is dumb like me, open the texture you wanted in DTW and there's actually Conversion tool in DTW and you just need to convert into a the file you want from there. Really easy im just dumb

So technically this is a model important, but since it's visually centric, I figured I'd post it here for you guys.
I've been going through Brawl Vault to see what models I can easily import easily with my current understanding of model imports. Unfortunately that's not a lot, but this one of Sans from Undertale came out pretty damn good actually.

The Fighting Wire Frames (CSPs)!

Download Link; includes what you see here plus the _9 TPL versions of each (complete with palettes).

Notice that they're actually partially transparent, which is great, BUT, the _9 image type doesn't support a full alpha channel like this, so they won't look as good as the ones above. However, it is possible to use _5 type textures with full transparency support for CSPs instead (proof with link below), which should make these look even better in-game. So that's why I'm offering _5 types and _9 types in the download.


Thanks to zankyou for helping to prove the concept.

Right now the only to do this is to put the image(s) at the end of the file, change the pointers in the image header to point to the image data's new offsets, change their image types in the image header, zero out the pointer to the palette header, change the file size listed in the file header, and then rebuild the iso with the new file. A lot, I know. Hopefully I can make all of this a lot easier with DTW3 once I get back to it.

I'm not sure if you still wanted more icons or what you're planning to do, but I felt like these needed to happen eventually anyway, haha. I think that someday we'll see these in the game, and be able to play as [balanced/viable] wireframes!

If nothing else, maybe seeing these will inspire someone else to make some nice codes for them. :p
Is it possible to fill the random slots with these two player icons? then they wouldnt have to overwrite anyone elses picture!

How to you add black flames or electricity to moves as well, I downloaded the falco gun purple texture off of this threads download page and it made his dair have a purple flame effect. I was wondering if you could change the colour of these flames as well as how one would go about adding the flame effect to something like marth's dair. Thx!

First of all, welcome to the texture modding thread. I love the growing interest in these things.

Second of all, all of your questions have already been answered. For the most part Falco and Fox's effect textures are in a shared file in the Melee ISO. But if you're just starting out, you can check out this introduction thread, and once you've finished that, you can check out the effect changing thread here.

Together, these threads will cover all the questions you have in regards to changing the colors of Falco's side b, lasers etc. and they'll also give you a better idea of where to ask questions, and how to create custom textures of your own!

Unfortunately, no. But it is a relatively easy texture to recreate, plus there are tons of similar ones on modulous, to be honest.
If it's a really big deal, someone can recreate it for you, but the colors probably won't be exactly the same.

If someone else has it already, they can reupload the file, but that might be a longshot.

Okay, so here's a basic version of FD with the Trophy collect background, but it's not exactly right. See the reason the Trophy Collect background is so nice, is because it's actually made up of 3 textures put together. There's a texture for the clouds, a texture for the stars that can faintly be seen in the back, and a texture for the moon. So it's not exactly the same, unfortunately. I could maybe try to figure out a way to make it work on FD, but it would take more work, and honestly, I just don't have the time right now.

I'm thinking that it isn't created via texture at all maybe, but I don't know how I'd go about confirming that in any capacity.

Finally, after an (unannounced) over 1 year of hiatus, I'm back, baby!
Hopefully some of you still remember me :grin:
I don't know if I'll continue working on texture hacks, or adventure into the newly-discovered elements of melee hacking.

Either way, I'm just happy to be back! :seuss:

Does anybody know where I can find the textures for the big red universe emblems on the results screen? It would be a big help if somebody could tell me.
