Long story short, I accidentally made this; anyone want a weird new Ganon avatar?:

20XX TE isn't an ISO, it's data in a save file, so no, that wouldn't work. There's also other code and lots of character files for the L/R alt skins, which wouldn't be able to fit into the limited space of the save file.
Lol ok dude cmon you get what I mean, I feel like you're answering small parts of my question in isolation and avoiding seeing what I mean and/or giving a meaningful answer / useful ideas or suggestions :p not sure why

IDC HOW IT HAPPENS I just want to have replay functionality on an ISO that also has the L/R alt skins and the improved 20xx 4.5 fox AI. AGAIN, IDC HOW IT HAPPENS.

The next plausible idea I have (feels like i'm the only one giving useful suggestions here lol? no offense, really) is to find a way to get the TE codes to work on a 4.05 ISO? TE codes (and therefore replay functionality) seem to only work on vanilla melee 1.02, so if there's any way to get them to work with other ISOs them BAM problem solved thx! Anyone know how to start with this?

I'm answering the small parts of your question so you know more on what you're asking questions about. The "big" view of your question ('can we have replays, advanced AI, and L/R alt costumes all in one copy of the game') has already been answered in a few different places, which was basically, 'not right now, but hopefully/probably in the future.' The next logical step would be to contact the creator of the replays code, Dan Salvato, and see if the source code for it is available. If it is, pass it on to Achilles and/or post it in the codes subforum. Unless of course @Dan Salvato would like to post it there personally.

20XX 4.05 comes pre-loaded with a few Battlefield textures, and if you want you can go to the debug menu and it will choose one of these at random. Is this possible with all other stages? @Achilles1515 DRGN DRGN :)
Yeah. It should be, but I haven't looked at any stage hacking codes in a while, so I don't know if one already exists. You can look here to start learning the basics of loading alternate stages, and you could look in the codes subforum for other existing codes. Another method of loading alternate stages is to modify the name of the stage that is about to be loaded, right before it happens. So if you have multiple stages, say named "GrSh.dat1", "GrSh.dat2", "GrSh.dat3", etc., then you could make a call to the game's random number generator, append the returned number to the end of your usual file name, and if that stage exists (hopefully you can specify a range for the number generation?), load it.

How's everyone doing? Has anything cool been made in the past 6 months? Are people still using modulous?

I'll try to get back to texture hacking ASAP!

By the way, everyone, the reason that some images do not display correctly (even previously working ones) is because the site has moved over to using https. So it will attempt to proxy any images, and if they're not from a secure/private connection (i.e. not using https:, or the image is over 20 MB, or the loading fails for any other reason, then you'll see that image loading error icon.

So to fix that, get a copy of of the url that starts with "https://". Not all sites support this, so you may have to re-host old images somewhere else. Sometimes, if the site does support it but you just don't have the newer link, you can just add an s to an address that uses http.

For example, http://i.imgur.com/nr0RSkA.png won't work, but https://i.imgur.com/nr0RSkA.png should.

Some browsers will show you in some way if your connection is private/secure, for example, with Chrome:

upload_2016-11-29_18-49-11.png
- Unsecure
upload_2016-11-29_18-49-25.png
- Secure

So you should be able to just open up a few links to your favorite image hosting site, like their homepage, and know right away if they support https. I think Imgur, Dropbox, MediaFire, and even Modulous all do. There are also many others that you can google. With MediaFire, try adding "?size_id=3" to the end of the url (as well as the s to https in the beginning) if it doesn't initially work. I think that images smaller than a certain size will still work through SWF's proxy even if the image address uses http. As far as I know there are no plans on reverting this, so we'll just have to watch what we're using.

If the above still doesn't work, which it sometimes appears it doesn't for some unknown reason, then another method that works much more reliably is to attach your image to your post. You can do that by drag-and-dropping an image from your computer right onto your post. Make sure you do it over the text area, or you may open the image in your current tab instead, in which case you could lose what you've written! You can't do this while editing a post you've already made unless you click on the "More Options..." button at the bottom of the edit window.

We're good!

Well, mostly development and some pretty nice progress has finally been happening with model hacking...!

I was thinking about you recently actually, because I was looking at costumes and noticing how many of the less popular characters that didn't have as many costumes had new ones thanks to you! Veddy nice. I have a couple more myself that I created a little while back, but I've yet to post them. So busy! Anyway, nice to see you back again.

Hey guys I'm on a work in progress skin for Fox. :foxmelee:

I'm trying to make Wolf from Star Fox series.

It's unfinished and I'm using online editor and Paint to do this skin.

Soon I'll post the oficial skin. Check this out! :joyful:

If it's not working:http://imageshack.com/a/img922/6316/Uiy95k.png

I did just the fur.
If you're looking for Wolf skins, just so you know, there's a pretty good one here, by Steelia. Scroll to the bottom of the first post. It even has a model-modded eye-patch!

I'm looking for the fox phantasm that is used on mangos stream setup, it's basically falco's phantasm animation but red and for fox. If anyone could find it I'd super appreciate it. Also, USA fox skin would be sick.

Would anyone be able to help me out with converting a blue Kirby costume to green? DTW doesn't seem to be able to do this :/

Sure. PM it to me. Next version of DTW will have that mostly fixed (it will do all but his eyes, because they have differently sized palettes).

Also, normally if the CCC tab fails a conversion, you can always do it manually by exporting all textures from the source file, and then manually importing them into a file of the costume color you want (I suggest a vanilla copy).

Interesting, I've got to check model hacking out...

By the way, should I continue uploading the texture hacks from the first post to modulous? I think I stopped at Mario and never finished the rest

Got it! I'll PM it soon. Also how/is it possible to do this with Puff and Peach's yellow?

I think that'd be great. If you want to do them all through the SmashBoardsModding account, maybe I could help out. At least a little at times when I'm away from my usual computers (and therefore unable to work on other things). I could start from the bottom of the list of characters and make my way up (I can post when I complete one), while you continue going down. PM me if you'd like some help with it.

Puff has extra model parts; I don't know if anyone knows how they could be copied from one character file to another. Puff itself (body, off-screen textures, etc.) should still copy correctly though.

Peach's yellow costume has similar problems as Kirby's eyes, but to an extreme. There are lots of textures that are different sizes between the two files, and there are lots of extra textures thrown in that aren't in the other files.

I could definitely improve the CCC tab to deal with cases where a texture in one file has a differently sized palette from the corresponding texture in another file, but it would require a big change in how the CCC copies textures, and there are simply multiple other things I'd like to finish in DTW first. All characters/costumes can still be converted fairly easily though, by manually exporting and importing textures as I mentioned (even if it might be a little time consuming in some cases).

Has anyone thought you might like to make a new costume, but aren't sure what character to do? Well I've been spending a lot of time going through costumes, and I found that there are a few characters that have few or no good ones for some colors. Here are the ones that could still use some love!

Kirby - Green
Jiggs - Red
ICies - Green complete
Samus - Green
Sheik - Green
Zelda - All (found a bunch of ideas for her here)
YLink - Red
Roy - Red, Green
Pichu - Green

Also, does anyone have this skin?:

I've been trying to get my hands on this, but the link to it in the OP expired. I messaged the creator too, FrederickCrescent, a while ago, but he hasn't been online here in a couple years.

Does anyone know how the water on fountain of dreams works? Is there a texture for the water's surface? And how do you remove the reflective effect?

Edit: Found it, this is the texture for the water on FoD both in the main fountain and in the small fountain. However, its only visible in the small fountain because the large one just has the reflective effect.

Hey, I just wanted to remind everyone about the off-screen (a.k.a. magnifier or bubble) textures! They seem to be overlooked fairly often. If you're viewing the textures in the order that they appear in the file (which you can do in DTW by clicking on the "Offset" header above the list of textures), then you can almost always find them near the end of the file, before the character's eye textures. They'll usually look like a simplified and/or combined version of other textures. If you're still not sure, you could always fill in a texture with some pure, bright color, and load up the game for to test it.

I'll leave it to someone else to make the Rigby Fox skin. But enjoy!

This is really good! And I noticed that you even did the inside of the jacket. Not everyone gets such little details; nice job! Hope to see you around making more. :)

Can anybody help me out and fix my Battlefield texture?

For whatever reason it crashes after you play on it for a little, all I did was recolor a couple textures to orange and purple

Here's the download: https://www.mediafire.com/?wa144a43p9al6ba

Much appreciated

266ff7b7d8837a23bf8da76478fe25f7.png here's what it looks like, I'm just really confused as to why this would make it crash

For me this link doesn't work. Maybe it is just me. If it isn't, then there are way too many people who don't instantly want a Minerali texture.

It might just be me being ignorant but I don't see it
As of now that's only working on BF in 4.05, you can just replace the other BF skins in DTW

Achillies just said today actually that he hopes to include the feature for all legal stages in the next update
