OC3 DVD Discussion Thread!

So, seeing as how the DVD is practically done, time to discuss the DVD.

As you may or may not know, OC3 was a tournament held in Southern California with representation from all the best regions in the country, as well as special guests from other countries. The matches contained in this DVD are as many as we could get and record from the Crews tournament, Doubles tournament, and Singles tournament, and contains exciting moments in Smash history, such as:

- Mew2King single-handedly defeating the West Coast Crew (minus Bombsoldier)
- The meanest, greenest Yoshi player (Gabe) fighting valiantly against the Central Ohio Krew.
- Isai and The King dominating in teams
- The resurrection of Tupac during a singles match
- The highly demanded xXxNoobkingxXx vs Bombsoldier match
- and more!

Q: How many DVDs will be created?
A: 100 only. It is highly doubtful we will make more after the first 100 go out, so place your order now!

Q: How much will it cost?
A: Depends. If you went to OC3, $30 and if not, $35. These include shipping, and as such these are final prices.

Q: Is it true that there will be two DVDs?
A: We decided to combine the two into 1 DVD. This DVD will have a menu, and contains all the matches we recorded at the tournament.

Q: What will I have to send you guys to get one?
A: Send a check or money order to:

Also, send with payment a smashboards alias, as well as whether or not you attended OC3.

Q: When can I expect it to arrive in the mail?
A: We will send out the DVDs in batches. As in, after the first 35 or so orders, we will send out all 35, and so on until 100.

Q: I want to discuss the creation and content of the DVD.
A: Then this is the thread for you.

to post all ur thoughts on the dvd etc. Please feel free to add what should be and shouldnt be on the dvd. Or ask what are you expecting from the dvd.

as for the dvds.....
they are exactly 75 percent done. I have managed to work lots on this dvd including menus etc. I have also edited out every miscellaneous thing such as breaks between matches, loading time, and added names and colors to match up with teams. Including score and sets for crew battles. Lots of long tedious task by editing. So pre order now and when the dvds are done they will be mailed off and i will also announce it =).

OK. I'm just confused at why you even mention the limit. Do the labels cost a lot to make or something? I would think that the first sale you have would cover all DVD costs. They are not that expensive. >_<

you can wait till it goes online, for u to download it. Theres no possible way to prevent anyone or stopping them from sharing. Its a reality. However those who do buy the dvd will get first priority in seeing the matches. Once people see the dvd they will realize these took a lot of effort to make and maybe more would like to help out the creators by buying one.

But you'd be surprised at how many would end up wanting the DVD through seeing the videos on the Internet. The free publicity is worth it.

itll be online for everyone if we cannot fit them on the dvd. Thats a for sure thing.

actually all matches could fit the dvd it is the extra footage at the event that might not.

the thing is we havent have a list to give people. Like names of matches etc.

right now you can expect :

crowd footage and some interviews whatever we can fit!
the top singles matches
all the crew battles there worthy of recording
singles and doubles
as for specifics please wait till were done with the dvd and we will post it such as Mew2king vs pc etc.

as a note my compression skills are pretty good i managed to get a 4 gig file down to 208 so you can expect good stuff from this dvd.

there has been a lot of smashers asking me to pay via pay pal. Please pm me if u want to do this. Otherwise i suggest it isnt a good idea because it makes it more difficult for us.

you can expect it after scc. were working hard to make a good dvd for people and editing / compression takes a while to do plus menus. You can preorder the dvd right now though to save yourself a spot on the list.

well, scc is a pretty hectic weekend for us the dvd makers so we arent sure when the deadline is going to be done. I have mentioned we want this to be an awesome dvd plus we are going to send off the dvds in batches of orders meaning the first 35 to buy it the sooner we send them off. So right now we have about 10 sales and its going no where becuase people are waiting to rip it offline and dont appreciate our efforts. we will have to wait and see.
