i said 1 ban, and the stage that gets striked to initially is set as the matchup "true neutral" and therefore not banable, and not DSR-able. that's an awesome compromise between all of the stated issues as far as i can tell, and it minimizes BS.

anyway, "proof of playability" is kind of a silly idea if you ask me, it's either a good match or a bad match, there's demonstrably no 100-0 matchup in the game. but since we're all human and have weaknesses (some greater than others) it makes sense to add a ban, which otto said he's going to do... so everything should be fine for everyone, especially if the "true neutral" idea is implemented (would love to see that)

I personally support the idea of True Neutral, a stage you can always come back to and can never get rid of.

I've tried Toph =( I have. I mean there's only so much i can do/say. He can be VERY stubborn. I will not give up hope. But at the same time, I don't wanna be stuck w/o a partner. No ride to/from seattle. No ride to/from venue. this is gunna suck ***. Mike and I thinking about finding a hotel as close as possible to venue. Do you guys know of anything in the area?

I'm not boasting at all, lol. And I kinda stopped playing smash competitively for a while. I was busy getting drunk and high out of my skull every day for a couple years. Destroying millions of brain cells, there by significantly preventing me from improving for that time. The years i really dedicated myself to this game were 2004-2007/2008. The unfortunate part for me is that I still care too much about the game and about winning. That's about it. Let's just leave it at that.

Canada's travel situation is bleak now. Roby Coyle has a full car of himself, John (Hitsugaya), Sion, Manuel, and The Beef AKA david AKA roby's older brother.

Eric WAS going to have a car full of himself, me, yakal, violence, and probably mike. He was going to be our ride to and from the venue/your place as well as our ride to and from seattle/vancouver.

I've read some of this thread and it seems that nobody in seattle is able to give rides to tournament because everyone has a full car or is already doing multiple trips to get people to the venue. This leaves Me/Yakal/Mike/Violence in a tough spot because now we have to get housing in a hotel near the venue and/or get housed with you or w/e and have to find our own way to/from the venue. The transit system in that area seems mediocre at best but i don't really know how bad/good it would be. Our expenses just went way up because of this, either way. :/

Recommendations? thoughts?

What money are you spending? SW, can you set up a housing thread, or a Google Doc? Norcal is coming about 12-strong, and we all need housing. Eric shouldn't be getting a hotel unless there's no housing at all (or he randomly wants to spend more money).

I'd like to get housed, I just don't know what I'm going to do for transportation now that Eric(Blunted) is apparently flaking and wouldn't tell us that he was directly(I mean, I had to hear it from Adam? Really?). There aren't any other cars coming from Vancouver, and Nathan has generously offered me a train ticket, I just don't know how to get from the train station to anywhere once I arrive.

And Bobby, I think Toph offered housing to Norcal(forgive me if I'm wrong, Toph, don't wanna volunteer you for something you didn't offer), and I spent the weekend at his place, it's pretty spacious. I think he'd just have to clear it with his roomies.

edit: my bad Scar, didn't see your post. I'm probably gonna handle all of Norcal for housing. With 12 heads I might split Norcal up between myself and Vish who lives 3 minutes (by foot) away if Vish is down, or else with Rio (a lesser known smasher, he was at Genesis 2 tho) who lives about 10 minutes away on foot. So between me Vish and Rio we can definitely cover all of Norcal.

I believe Otto is primarily housing the fly-ins from Socal, EC and so forth.

@ scar, as for the housing thread; i remember where everyone is housing and am going to make sure i get everyones info before they come. i myself am housing all the fly ins aside from norcal. one bc carpool is housing with gimpyfish. EWA is getting a hotel. i am surprised no one from oregonj has even asked for housing so i am planning on checking with them about a hotel or something.

i wonder how many people care about the extra vids, or whatever the hype is surrounding pp and axe coming (i'm excited about it but not any more than i was considering that washington is legit on its own)

I talked about bringing other players up here. Zhu said he couldn't make it, Javi didn't work out, Socal already planned on coming.

Stream equipment is all well and good, but without the know how and willingness to run a good, dedicated stream, I didn't want to spend money on what might have just ended up a flop. Now that BobbySiege wants to come up, I think he's really enthusiastic to run a good stream, and if I had known that, I would definitely have supported that.

What I'm doing isn't really anything new, I'm just funding a good player fund by myself.

And Axe definitely has a bird.

oregon is trying to figure out how many are coming. they are trying to bring like 3-4 cars.

kyle and some others were talking about cramming into a hotel.

they are banking on a large group 15-2o is the goal, so they can cheaply cram into a couple hotels/motel rooms.
