all former sonic supporters= move on to megaman

The fact that Megaman has to EARN those abillities kind of kills the whole idea for the character. Arent characters supposed to have their OWN moves? (That might be why Ness is out or is being nerfed.) Megaman seems alot like Samus honestly. Both chargable blasters, in suits, yeah. Also, I dont think moves from spinoffs count. Well, the only thing unique from Megaman would be the charge BLAST from the blaster and the sword. Everything else would be boring.

megaman is NOTHING LIKE SAMUS and if im right megaman came out before metroid so its other way around... plus if im not mistaken megaman s a robot and samus has implants

I guess you're right, but technically I'm pretty sure Square owns the rights to Geno. Still, if they get the permission then maybe Sakurai considers him a first party character anyway because the game was published by Nintendo. It would be weird to see him with the Mushroom Kingdom logo though, standing next to Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser...

Honestly though, I have no idea how Geno became so popular. Did he really have that large a fanbase before the question of the Brawl roster came up?

Metroid came out a year before Mega Man.

Anyways, Geno wasn't even that good in his own game. Why there's such a following, I'll never know. I mean, I like the character and everything, but not to that extreme.

When you think of the NES, Mega Man is one of the games that pops into your head. I'm pretty sure that most people wouldn't think of Super Mario RPG thinking of the SNES. Even then, more people have probably played Mega Man rather than Super Mario RPG. I swear, no one I ever talk to has played that game but me. This is all just baseless speculation, but still...

The event started a couple hours ago, and I think it ends at 2AM EST Sunday(3 and a half hours from now). It doesn't seem like there's live coverage anywhere, but if we don't hear anything by tomorrow we can assume there was no mention of Brawl. Keep in mind that Dec. 17th is the actual anniversary of MM1's release in Japan, and there's a countdown to that date on Capcom's 20th anniversary site.

Well, you could explain the lame info as accounting for the five people that don't go to this site, surf youtube, and didn't go to E for All. We can only hope though.

And indeed, they didn't show anything new in 1/2 of the updates! Nor anything useful in 3/4 of them.

Miyamoto's birthday has no relevance to Smash. It's not even his series. On the other hand, if Mega Man is in it's quite possible that Capcom would want to announce it first, and if so this event is a likely time for that to happen.
