well its only a ranbat, so decided to keep it nice a low. besides, this is a pilot ranbat. If all goes well, we're gonna do lots more.

Anyway, as mentioned, i'm going to gamerbase tomorrow to test out the tv's and book the ranbat.

Here is my confirmed list of players so far, so I will be booking for this many people. I'll try and get Gamerbase to be as flexible as possible though if we get more people deciding to come in the run up to Feb 15th.

Players

Confirmed:
Aiko
Yeniths
Oniboy
Smudge
NilliX
CPT Wu
Zero
PlatinumSamusUK
Mako Mako

Unconfirmed but likely:
Blinky
Coey

I will book for 10 tomorrow, but tell them its likely that there will possibly be more.

wow, didnt think you were actually gonna make this, but im impressed!

Coey is good and might team with you if he decides to come.

You could book singles journeys in advance to make it cheaper?

only going to do doubles if we get at least 4 teams.

If there are no teams then singles will be best of 5 (bo7 in finals)

If teams is on then only best of 3 in singles (bo5 in finals)

Mako: Yeniths is going to, another good player.

mak0 - if your travellign from london get cheap coach tickets from megabus or nationalexpress funfares. thats unless your wanting to get there timely. Otherwise, your paying alot more money :/

Ant - like Z said if these are timed to the melee ranbats ill start turning upto every other one. Going to rotate ranbats between NW and Scotland.

I went to Gamerbase yesterday, tested out some of the TV's which worked perfectly but theyre not in the most ideal parts of the store. I'm now looking with the manager to get some TV cards for the monitors so we can play smash on them rather than having unfavourably positioned TV's.

Prices haven't been finalised either.

What do you mean by "Not in the most idea parts"

And is it just gonna be people for the tournament here, or random passers-by aswell?
well 2 screens are high up :/ another one is the corner above a couple of pc setups. But in the middle of the arena are 10 xbox setups on monitors. We're currently looking at ways to get the wii to play on these monitors so we dont have to constantly look up >.>

There will be a counter strike tournament going on at the same time, which is why i dont want to use the 3 tv's because they are all over PC setups, but the xbox setups have their own section in the middle.

there will be random passerby's too.

It's been a long time since I've really looked forward to playing brawl, maybe I'll play both, see how it goes.
Aiko we are teaming for this right? I dont want to have to try in the doubles by having to play against you...lol jk, but seriously it should be fun. Good to see Koop going, wanna MM? I've heard good things about you. I'll be up for MMing anyone really if they are up for it. For anyone who doesn't know I use Metaknight.

I'm really looking forward to this now.

I always enjoy the tournament feel, but this seems like it's going to be so much better, and t's be nice to get back into competitive play.

ok, I had a great discussion with Chris (the guy in gamerbase who's helping me run this thing).

As a test we're gonna use 2 tv's, possibly 3 if we REALLY need it, and he has offered me a great price for the venue (which is subject to change of course). Hoping to get this 110% confirmed but its looking good at the mo.

Just gonna edit a little bit on the first post so that its not an "official" gamerbase tournament, but just the venue. nothing drastic fantastic.

The only important thing is that only gc controllers are allowed. This won't affect most of you but it is important. We don't want any wiimotes flying into monitors.

Also, Kosmoco may be bringing 5-6 more players :o

if we get 16 people, we'll have pools, but this means time will be short. I'm planning to start pools at 12 pm. which means we have 5 hours.

might be worth just doing 16 man bracket....

If i get more than 16 people, pools is a must with a top 8 bracket, but that might mean no teams :(

Crews would def be off with 16+ people.

Worst case scenario:

pools of 4 players = 1 hour.
with 4 pools and 2 tv's we would be done with pools in 2 hours. If we were to get the 3rd tv, it will be much quicker :)

1 hour for brackets.

leaves 2 hours for teams, which would be an 8 team bracket.

We should be ok finished by then, but crews would be unlikely.
