Noraa's GW Cross Overs/Move Strings/Gimics&Baiting
I dont know how this will be seen but, I feel GW is viewed as bland because people fail to expand their thinking and approaches. I believe GW has lots of cross overs and gimics to make him a great main. Il just go into what I'm talking about. If you have things you also do with your GW that would be helpful please share.
THIS IS NOT A GUIDE lol >.< just had to get that out the way.
Cross Overs- Doing an attack on the front of the character and landing behind them, but for what i do with gw its a little differnt. When i attack the front of the character i also do another attack while going behind them.
Full hop fair -> (keep momentum forward to go behind them) Nair on the way down
^^that right there can lead to many options, for one if the fair hits well...then **** its just a free fair =] but if it is shielded then the falling nair also has the chance to get in damage.
Which leads to other options if the nair hits or not. If the nair doesnt hit then when we land we can either upb away or if the opponent has a bad bair/slow bair, we can just grab them.
now if the nair hits then we have the chance to continue with another nair, a smash, jab, grab, dtilt...any reasonable option really.
Of course it wont work all the time but i do use it as a kill setup if the options are there. Im sure there are other ones people do so i would like to hear that.
Move Strings- This is something else that i always keep in mind.
Full Hop Fair -> falling nair -> upb? any reasonable move after since nair is amazing
(same cross over as above but also falls under this catagory, i mainly am able to get this on floaty characters like peach and kirby...also...usually low percents and it has to hit with the late weak hit of fair to work)
Bair -> grab *usually low percents*
Bair -> jab -> grab
^^now i know thats not even close to 100% but i see to many GW players finish their bair and the opponet is slightly off the ground RIGHT in front of them and they could just turn around to jab then grab but fail to do so. It really depends on how the bair is hitting and where on the opponet, but it is surely possible since i do it all the time
As far as the bair -> grab, its all about following their DI and simply making sure you are close enough to get the grab. If you feel like they are to far away in the bair (like at the head of the turtle) then simply just stop moving forward with it so you can get away with out getting punished.
If you have anything to add to this then please share
Gimics- Everything i have said have been gimics but this is just for random ish that can help.
All the true gimic stuff i do is like, run off the ledge and bair back on and if i think im going to get punished i just di back to the ledge where im comfortable =].
Also of course the horribly spaced dair on purpose to catch them with a dtilt after.
I know this is probably really bad to read but i just kept typing while stuff popped into my head. If you cant read it then im sorry. Also if you have anything to add then just tell me and i will edit it in.
Thanks yaaaa
