I have absolutely nothing to back up this claim, but I'm quite certain that Sakurai knew that the clones would be their own characters fairly early on. It was probably that they'd stay as alts if they ran out of time to upgrade them.

It's pretty obvious considering the small amount that he actually chose.

He transforms into Costume Mario, not any of the actual characters. His abilities are still limited to running, jumping, breaking bricks and the only ability he gains is that he can now strike a pose when up or down is pressed.

Also, invisible blocks were confirmed in the NWC

****ing do it.

First 2 are absolutely amazing games. SPM is different but still good. but stop after that.

also rayman stuff
Aw man, sure would've liked to see that Rayman game, especially for those 3D reimaginings of the Rayman 1 stages.

Doesn't Juri have something so she can combo anything and everything? I'll try to main her if I get the game
A lot of characters are playing completely different compared to 4, so don't expect her to transition exactly the same

Bringing the conversation back to Smash Bros, here's something I'm always curious about....... how/why did you choose your main character?

Let me expand upon that: When choosing a main, do you simply pick from the top of the 'tier list'? Do you main a character whose series you're a fan of? Does your main have a playstyle that fits your personal preference? Something else entirely?

I always feel that with any game that has numerous characters, people should use the character they like or have a connection to and never play solely based on tiers or best options (unless, of course, you're a high level tourney player and money is a stake). Sure, winning is great, but fun should always come first. I have no connection with Sheik so I wouldn't have fun playing as her, even if I was winning every match. On the flip-side, I've always been a huge fan of the Dr. Mario series and immediately mained him in Melee. Even when I lose as Doc, I'm having fun and would have it no other way.

My alt is Charizard (another considerably 'low tier' character). When I first played Pokemon Red, I chose Charmander. He eventually evolved into Charizard, thus I have a 'personal connection' with the character. He's not the easiest character to use and is overwhelmed in many match-ups, but I have fun trying to win and find it far more satisfying than using a character for which I have no connection with.

When I see so many Diddy, Sheik, ZSS, Ness, Rosalina, etc, I always wonder if people just enjoyed their games or chose them based on their ease of use in Smash. My guess is that many of the Ness players I've come across have never played an Earthbound game.

Anyway, just something I often ponder, feel free to share your thoughts if you wish.

I main characters whose games i'm a fan of- Olimar, Pit, Shulk. Testing characters are to see if i like their playstyle.

The characters I use are usually based off of two things: if I like them as a character, and if I enjoy using them. For example, King Dedede is an awesome character imo, but I absolutely despise playing as him.

Luckily for me, most of my favorite characters in Sm4sh just happen to be good lol. But I guess I have the balance to thank for that.

Star Hill. Why do you ask?
I love how you use 'was bigger than Shantae' instead of 'is bigger than Shantae'. Dude, what the **** are you typing? Use punctuation for once, not being English isn't an excuse for lack of punctuation. Shantae's fans are on the internet, and these days, she has more support than Geno. Just because Geno was about 8 years earlier doesn't mean that old gamers know him, especially as Europe didn't get Geno till SSS. The only memorable thing about Geno these days is how you constantly praise him and stitch your fingers in your ears. You clearly don't know what recognizable means if you're using one of many videos. Yes, Geno's cameo in which he told you how to play an optional minigame was SOOOOO similar to his role in SMRPG.
i am not talking about how many supporters i am talking about the popularity, yes it does because he was first seen at that time plus they released toys before even the game got released also people does buy the game so the old gamers knows him, MLSSS sold well so it doesnt really matter, there is not only one video that has Geno with million views like Shantae, it doesnt matter what rule he plays in the game as long as he does appear in the game.

I dare you (and everyone else) to give up Geno discussion for ONE FULL WEEK.

Think it's possible?

No punctuation or solid arguments m8. Not going to bother if you're not going to bother yourself

Instead of daring people to give up discussion, just stop engaging in the conversation, as @PushDustIn has said like twice now. A conversation can't exist unless more than one person is contributing to it. If you don't like the conversation, stay out of it. And that goes for everybody. People keep talking about how much they hate Geno discussion, then they take part in it anyway and wonder why it won't go away.

As for why I play my mains, I tend to start off going for characters that I particularly like from their source material, but I always end up experimenting with new characters and sometimes pick up characters from games I've never played just because I like their style.

My main comes from my favorite Nintendo franchise and some of my favorite games, but I main Samus more just because her playstyle has always clicked with me. The fact that she's from a game series I love is just a nice bonus. Playing with characters you have a connection to is great, but in the end, playing a game should be about fun, and if the playstyle doesn't work for you it doesn't work. It's why I main Samus in every Smash but don't play as Zamus; her playstyle just doesn't work for me.

Speaking of the Operation Rainfall trio, should I pick up The Last Story soon? Mind you I don't have a Wii U yet and I don't even know if it's available digitally. I'm ok with getting a Wii copy since my Wii is GC compatible as well.

Fair enough. I've rarely posted lately anyway.

I need some quick feedback, alright so I almost fully convinced my parents to buy me Splatoon, but I was wondering, should I buy a Wii U Pro Controller, or stick with Gamepad? Also is the Wii U Pro Controller Wireless?
I say stick with the Gamepad, and give the motion controls a chance. The Pro Controller is wireless.
