Overly extreme example:
"I wish my grandmother was here to see me now!"
"Your grandmothers dead and you'll never see her in this world again."
The second statement is completely true and a logical conclusion to draw; however, the person is
probably very much aware of reality and was just musing over a pleasant thought. There's not really a reason to be insensitive and rub salt in a wound just because it's true.
Now I believe that when one speaks they should tell the truth, but
some things are better left unsaid.
Now if someone is just spreading false information, then rip that ***** a new one. I do enjoy a good ripping every now and then, and you, my dear Burbles, are an artiste of legendary proportions in the field of ripping. I look forward to your next work. No, seriously, I appreciate you and a few others for being realistic and looking at things objectively when others aren't. I just don't think it needs to be applied to every harmless comment you see.
