You said yourself that you know it's not gonna happen, so what's wrong with me telling you that myself?

Overly extreme example:

"I wish my grandmother was here to see me now!"
"Your grandmothers dead and you'll never see her in this world again."

The second statement is completely true and a logical conclusion to draw; however, the person is probably very much aware of reality and was just musing over a pleasant thought. There's not really a reason to be insensitive and rub salt in a wound just because it's true.

Now I believe that when one speaks they should tell the truth, but some things are better left unsaid.

Now if someone is just spreading false information, then rip that ***** a new one. I do enjoy a good ripping every now and then, and you, my dear Burbles, are an artiste of legendary proportions in the field of ripping. I look forward to your next work. No, seriously, I appreciate you and a few others for being realistic and looking at things objectively when others aren't. I just don't think it needs to be applied to every harmless comment you see.

I think that's quite understandable. This fandom can be very demanding and if things aren't just so, there will most likely be backlash from it. The vision Sakurai has for the series and the vision the fandom has doesn't always match very well. Which tends to be quite conflicting for both sides.....

I can also understand getting disappointed if any work you are working on gets leaked as well, especially if you worked so hard on it and want to surprise your fanbase.....
