Game Trailers' response to Sonic's tweet.

"In order to unlock our response to this burn, you must first get the high score in a bunch of pointless challenge rooms."

Is this suppose to be a jab at Sonic Generations? ...I'm kind of certain they don't remember the game very well.
This tweet says it all.
There was a problem fetching the tweet

I wonder if I should try Star Tropics (and perhaps a couple other NES games) is it out on Virtual Console?
If you're a Zelda fan I'd say it's worth trying. The puzzles are pretty good and there is more action thanks to the jump feature.

The only thing I'd advise is that the control is stiff, don't die during a dungeon (start with half health and lose any items you collected), don't get a game over or you'll be stuck with half health starting a dungeon (because save feature), and difficulty spikes.

I have really mixed feelings about the series, I want to like them but they're so **** punishing.

The portable Sonic games arguably have a worse track record than the console ones now that I think about it lol
IDK When console Sonic sucks, handheld succeeds. When handheld sucks, console succeeds.

Completely agree! Maybe if there had been Act 3 and Act 4, not to mention a classic and modern boss fight for every era, they could have skipped the challenges. (Some were fun, though).

Wonder if I'm the only one who expected the 3DS version to have Game Gear, Advance, and Rush levels instead of the ones we got... ñ_ñU
wait, i thought it at least had a level from rush?
although yeah that probably would've better

although... the game gear and advance games are of kind of questionable quality...

Wasn't there a leak that predicated sonic runners and said that a wii u port of sonic generations was coming with more stages as will. What happened to it?

I see, thanks for letting me know. I'll try to be careful with that if I decide to purchase the game.

Worth pointing our: Golden Sun series minus the VC re-release has sold 662,459 units.

Dark Dawn only sold 74,678 of that.

Aye, we had one from Rush. Shame we didn't get one fron Rush Adventure, as that game has a great variety in level tropes.

I'd day they only questionable handheld titles (from 1 to Colors DS) was Sonic 2 for being ridiculously hard, Blast for its wonky gameplay and graphics, and Advance 2 for it's "hold right-yness" and cheap deaths.
Other than these, I find the rest to be quality titles.

Golden Sun always did best in the West for what ever reason. Same with Xenoblade, actually.... something like 3/4 of the Wii game's total were from North America.

I don't know whether to find it sad or hilarious that SEGA sits on all these franchises because of the financial risk but is willing to dig them up because Sonic.

If there's extra levels for Generations and HD for Colors, consider me sold on both new games.

...It took me a minute, but you mean the Sonic 2 for the Game Gear, right?
**** that game. I love the Under Ground Zone theme. It'd love to comment on the rest of it's ost, but I never got past the very first boss X_X

Hmm if that Generations 2 thing happens I hope it plays more like Colors/Generations rather than Lost World

10,000 bucks that they overlook Vectorman again.
Vectorman is basically my Startropics from SEGA. 2 games, criminally overlooked due to no Japan/Europe release, etc.

BUT! I'm such a a huge fan of Genesis era SEGA, that I wouldn't mind too much, as long as I get to run through the Streets of Rage, pummel ninjas, defest Death Adder, run through the surreal Fantasy Zone, visit planets in Ristar's solar system, etc, etc

wait, vectorman had two games?
admittedly i could see it maybe getting something. i mean, knuckles' ****ing chaotix got an arrangement in generations.
also i didn't know there was a second post from this person
The story is pretty flimsy.

>Eggman kidnaps Tails
>Sonic goes through a Green Hill Zone level to get to Eggman
>Gets kidnapped himself
>Gets thrown in to a Digital world created by Eggman with the rule that he's "trapped forever" unless he can break the program
>Has to go through (so far) 11 worlds from the likes of Shinobi, Phantasy Star, all the token Master System/Genesis games finding a way to break the program
>Eventually gets free with the power of some kind of digital chaos emeralds and breaks the program
>Fights Eggman in Eggman Land, which he's rebuilt in Sonics absence

It's Segas 25th anniversary game, not Sonics

I'm willing to believe it on this alone, only SEGA would do this.

I had work on a Sonic fangame that is basically what we both exactly expected out of Sonic Generations 3DS but with more levels.

It'll be back some day. I even did a prototype design of Bridge Zone

Sonic Colors was amazing. The music, zones... it just felt like, something new. Like a gentle breeze. I listen to songs from that game from time to time.
Generations was cool.

Sonic games are ups and downs, basically.

Heh, well Knuckles Chaotix has a really memorable soundtrack. It's a shame not many people got to experience it.
The game itself might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the music is really good!

I really hope you go back to work on it someday! I have a feeling I'd replay it to death. Simply the idea of turning the 8 bit stages into 16 bit (or more?) already fuels my interest. :)

P.S. The idea of playing "de-made" 3D looking stages into 2D is also enticing.

@ Das Koopa Das Koopa had found a post on GFaqs that pointed out that Rool got trademarked, and then @ vaanrose vaanrose replied with this.
Just so everyone is aware, I feel pretty foolish about it, but I made a rather dumb jump in logic in that post. Consider this an official retraction.

The trademark database only records registered trademarks, the ones marked with '®', not the ones marked with '™'.

This should have been obvious, since only registered trademarks would appear in a registered database, but there you go. I'd have corrected this earlier, but I don't come round here that often anymore.

You should do Under Ground for two reasons.
The music is good. And like Crisis City in Generations, you can redeem a widely hated game through a remade level. :)

The Genesis/ Master System era was incredible. Aside from having every Sonic Game, the awesome Aladdin and Lion King games Altered Beast and EARTHWORM JIM WHY DO YOU NOT EXIST ANYMORE, my three other favourites were:

This game was so much fun, and super hard! Stupid janken pon...

Poor Aero. He has all the right attributes to be a star.

When this game came to the Wii VC I almost cried. I still play it all the time.

Sega should approach these teams and take some risks. I know they dont own Aero or Wonder Boy, but still.

EDIT: Wait, Sega do own Wonder Boy. The dev wanted to make a new Wonder Boy but apparently Sega weren't interested.

Meh story it sounds like, but it's good to see Phantasy Star get some love for once.

IF that game is true, I hope it's not just Genesis stuff, Saturn and Dreamcast are part of SEGA's history too y'know.
