I used TVii like for a week or two after first getting my Wii U, then it just didn't work anymore.

It was a neat concept, but totally flawed.

I recently read Adam Sandler's movies have a pretty high budget. It's just that about 60% is paycheck or something
His movies doesn t require the most expensive special effects or editing work most of them are about stuff that could ocurr to normal people. Maybe that is why many watch them.

Also I thought the one with danky kong like intelligence was Sandler. Seriously who would pay for someone who is almost sure to make your movie bad no matter the script, I mean im sure the man could have screwed up something like inception. Then I remember whatever film his face is on makes eazzy money.

I didn't vote for them, though, cause my vote would have been the only vote. lol
No shame in voting. I voted for a couple characters where I'm sure I was the only one that voted.

However unlikely, it only takes one vote to get noticed. :113:

It's at least a better chance than those characters that receive no votes.

This is sad news for those who actually cared about Nintendo TVii.

I didn't care about it cause it was laggy, barely worked right, and honestly confusing. Now if I could've watched my cable providers TV through the Wii U's Game Pad some how, that would've been cool.

Not all is lost, though. Using the Wii U Game Pad as a TV remote is still pretty baws and I'd recommend it to anyone as it saves you the time of getting the remote when you can just turn on your TV and game system with just the Game Pad. Even edit the volume on the TV easily.

I loved the concept of being able to see what was on at all times without having to fuss through my cable guide but like people said it barely ever worked.

Regarding the movie that shall not be named, I'm honestly curious how many people that are bashing it have actually seen it. I know it's cool to join in and hate on something because everyone else is doing it. I personally have not seen it, thus I haven't commented on it. I'm always fascinated by the mob mentality when it comes to loving or hating something.

Carry on.....

I haven't seen it, but being that the plot seems like a another generic rip-off of that one Futurama episode that tends to keep happening in media, the whole Space Invaders and Donkey Kong pals invading the earth etc is rather dull imo.

I keep reading about how the Japanese treat their disabled people.

Then I read this manga about a deaf girl.

http://www.mangahere.co/manga/koe_no_kitachi/ (read the first chapter prologue thing)

Fiction doesn't make me cry very often.

But this had me bawling like a baby.

Why are they treated this way?

Japan is essentially 'Workoholic the country' so it seems like if there's anything that stops you from fitting in, you'll be treated like crap for it

Bit random, but on the flip side, it's actually considered "rude" to pay a tip in Japan as the Japanese feel they are being payed already for their work. Pretty crazy.

I think I'll have a hard time reading this, usually I'm an emotionless brick but my mother needs a hearing aid, so it'll hit closer to home. The fact there's a TearJerker on Tv Tropes and no Funny page makes me prepare myself
It's an amazing story, just so... painful to read...

@Venus of the Desert Bloom

I know you have experience teaching in Japan.

If I may ask, what happens to the disabled children?

Here's some overall happy Japanese dramas to make up for my very depressing recommendation:

Ikebukuro West Gate Park -about girls who get murdered. The actual mood of very lighthearted even though the contents are dark. Obviously not the happiest one on this list.

Great Teacher Onizuka (older version) - about a teacher trying to turn the school around. Very funny.

haven't seen the newer version even though they used me to promote it in Fukushima. Got asked randomly if I wanted to be in an ad, was extremely hungover. Haven't seen the ad but some of my former students told me they saw me

Densha Otoko - based on a "True" story of a 2ch otaku who saves a girl from a drunkard on the train. They fall in love as he tries to hide his otaku-Ness. The story might have been fabricated a little. The movie version sucks.
It kind of reminds me of this thread in a way

Dragon Zakura about a teacher trying to get his class (the worst class, ever) into Tokyo University.

I can go into some Japanese films if you guys want.

This was removed from the UK Wii U Systems months ago. It felt super weird realising there was an icon less on the home menu and the main menu but we didn't even get to see the thing work. Was it Any good?
Ah well at least we got BBC IPlayer which only got released this year. After 2 years of waiting.
I generally curious to know how this Tvii actually was.
