Iwata tweeted that he realized people are disappointed with the direct. Will work on improving people's expectations this year.
Please Understand.

We weren't happy with this.

Keep Star Fox though.

We liked that.

Slippy would be a brilliant DLC choice IMO. I want Wolf back too though. Star Fox content is lacking so both would be completely fine. There's no longer such a thing as "too many reps per franchise".

I don't think he needs to apologize to anyone! We knew this was going to be a more relaxed year.

The Last Guardian was boring to me too. It's was more so about "hey it's finally coming!!! rejoice!!" than "check this out!".
I'll go as far as to say that I enjoyed Sony's conference last year much more than this years.

I never cared about Shenmue, but even if I did, a multiplat Kick Starter shouldn't be a conference high light.

I wanted to like Last Gaurdian, but as I said before, the demonstration was putting me to sleep.

Final Fantasy 7 is a classic game, probably my 4th favorite game in the series, but it is very played out. On top of that, all they did was show 30 seconds worth of CGI and call it a day. It was a tease for a game that I don't believe will be playable for a LONG time. I wouldn't be surprised if the first trailer we see for the game is at next years E3.

Uncharted looked great, but it's like Sony's Mario at this point. I see so much of it that I never truly get hyped anymore. It does look great though, and it will certainly be one of my first purchases if I end up picking up a PS4.

Horizon Dawn actually looked really cool. It reminded me a bit of both Far Cry and Xenoblade in different ways, and those are two series that I love to death. One thing I will say is that I hope the main character doesn't speak as much in the final game, lol.

Slippy would be a perfect DLC character for star fox.He is arguably one of the more recongizable star fox characters and can be alot of things.A person who uses mechs,a joke character something like pichu or a mixture of both

I do hope that if Star Fox doesn't launch with online multiplayer that they add it in later, I had so much fun on Star Fox Assault's multiplayer back in the day, but it needed to be bigger and online.

Is this legit? It seems odd that they would acknowledge that.

I wonder what the reception to Federation Force would be if Nintendo had ALSO released a teaser trailer for a new Wii U Metroid?

I imagine Slippy to use a similar B moveset to Fox, but with completely over the top animations. Like because he has a reputation for being useless his moves would function in a joke fashion.

His up B could shoot him up really high but have poor control, his reflector could malfunction with overuse, his side b could see him tripping.

He should be the Dan Hibiki of Smash. He should purposely be the weakest character.

Probably really really good. Unfortunately there was no main metroid and all the hate had to go somewhere. :p

Artstlye looks a little weird.

I hope there is SOME singleplayer. . .
This game looks...fine?

I just don't understand why it needs to have Metroid's label.
to sell more copies.
and maybe some story hopefully

Did we get any announcements that weren't spinoffs? Besides the new Zelda 3DS game?

Animal Crossing spinoff
Metroid spinoff
Mario spinoff #1
Mario spinoff #2
Zelda spinoff that's a port, yet going to take over half a year to complete

I'm going to stick to talking about the good from this point on, but there's one thing I want to address.
I'm not even a Metroid fan, and Federation Force makes me mad. You don't...you don't ignore your sci-fi adventure game series for 5 years (8 if talking about Prime), then announce a random spin-off at E3 that doesn't even have the main character, and has a generic chibi-artstyle that completely betrays the appearance of every game in the series and just looks painfully plain overall.

It deserves more dislikes than likes. Past the horde of rapid angry fanboys there are some truly upset real Metroid fans.
And I'm sorry for them. Game doesn't even look that fun.

On the flip side, Fire Emblem and Mario RPG crossover hype! Super excited for those games. Starfox looks great too.
And let's not forget the epic Smash DLC update that was JUST dropped.

Dude, Other M came out 5 years ago. Unless you're trying to ignore that then maybe that argument is useful but no way man. They didn't ignore them for that long. Because that's reaching F-Zero territory.

that one guy is a real jerk. needs to realize he is on stream. playing for fun.

looks okay but the deign of those cages is absolutely terrible. that is not a fun mission calling it now.

The game itself looks okay. I just dont care for local co-op games like this

Technically Other M came out 2010, 5 years ago, but the spin-off is "in the Prime universe" and the last Metroid Prime game came out in 2007, unless you want to count the Trilogy which came out in 2009.

Watching the stream...

The trailer didn't do it justice.

It's actually fun looking.

Just not what Metroid needed right now.

which is a part of the problem. they gave it a very short trailer and nothing until a side event an hour later.

maybe they should have game this game some time over wooly world :/

Also metroid being about being alone just lost a bit more of its meaning :awesome:
