Was 2018 a BAD year for Nintendo Switch? I have explain this before... but I have to say it in breif, it really depends on what you expect...
From this video though, what bugs me isn't that Zack and Gabe aren't happy with Switch 2018 lineup, is that I have no idea what did they expect besides of not much huge single player games this year (Which I think it's not the case though).
Moreover, calling ports being more of a bummer is a fair point, I personally am bugged on ports (But not all of them). However, them consider Wolfenstein II and Crash N Sane trilogy "OLD" is just mind boggling to me... since 2017 games being rereleased on other platforms in 2018 is "Old"...
I also not sure why do they have to even concern on the future games not having a solid release, remember we have zero awareness of Smash Ultimate coming in 2018, next their concerns of delays is also somewhat nonsense in my opinion.
And I disagree with the notion that a 3 hour wasted period is nothing in comparison. That's the thing, everyone's use of time is subjective, so whether you disagree it's not relevant. 3 hours using an exploit being the fastest available method might be nothing to some people, but extremely tedious to many others, especially if they're not aware of said method considering it requires outside knowledge, which would result in them a ten minute (likely more) period between every character unlock (including echoes) not including the fight itself which a beginner or less may very well lose. In which case, another timer is put in place until they can be rechallenged.
It's a lot, and I can see why people aren't fans of it.
A lot of info require outside knowledge, and the fast unlock method isn't hard to find when you have hundred of Youtube videos talking about this.
And speaking of online, Smash's online is ****ing abysmal, and I'd honestly dock a point off it for that alone considering it's the most basic feature that every other fighting game has gotten right, especially considering it's now a paid service.
I haven't play much online, but I wouldn't call it abysmal, just mediocre, same with Switch online service as a whole.
That being said, complain is a fair complaint but a serivce that s 20$ a year (Even cheaper with family plan), whether the online play should be better is not something I am familiar of...
