This is one of the reason why I never want Smash to be rated for E10+, they could have go with T rating like Brawl, but unfortunately that isn't the case. Moreover and yes, this is a really bad speculation... and you can even call this me just joking but, can't believe they spend some of the time on altering these when they can save these time to work on more playable characters...

Do you really think censoring those images took so much time that it potentially cost a character? Or that the graphic designers making these edits are the same people responsible for modeling/programming/animating/balancing characters?

Those censorships likely had no noticeable effect on game development at all.

**** man this guy was responsible for one of the most iconic TV Shows in our childhoods. The guy was a genius, writing a childern's cartoon that appealed to all age's that spoke well to adults. Not to mention how well the first 3 seasons of Spongebob have aged to this day where I can still get a good laugh from those old episodes.

Going out at 57 regardless though is really sad. R.I.P. to the man that had a huge influence on most of us as children.

Good Lord, how many more people like this do we have to lose this year? It was previously Stan Lee and now Stephen Hillenburg. Death is one thing I am always stressed out about.

Anyways, I am here to offer my condolences. At the ripe old age of 37 I started watching SpongeBob for quite some time when it premiered. Of course, I am just as old as he is but passing away at such a young age breaks my heart.

By the way, as much as I now dislike him and even hesitate to mention his name for spurning and "dumping" me, does @ShinyLegendary know about the passing away of Stephen Hillenburg? With his affinity for SpongeBob he must be pretty distraught about this.
