I tell ya, we only saw the bare surface level for this mode. (Heck, even Sakurai said that the trailer was just a preview to let us make theory about it. He better not dissapoint on that part).

But yeah, everyone got Super Buu’d.

I think Sakurai would've agreed with you. I mean, those were his thoughts after the one Direct with Simon, Richter, Chrom, Dark Samus and King K. Rool, which is the one where everybody practically raised their expectations.

If anything, I would have swapped Incineroar for King K. Rool. It would have made for a much better way to end off the game's base content.

I'm excited to how Ultimate's Online is going to work. Having the ability to set your own options and play with other people with similar rules is great! I couldn't have asked for more. They're also going to make it so that you play with people nearby. And now that Sakurai basically told them to go buy a LAN Adapter, the amount of lag online should reduce significantly. Non-laggy Team Battles, here I come!

I can see why the reveals seemed so front-loaded - that way, they wouldn't get leaked like how Vergeben leaked Ken/Incineroar.

Sure, others, like Ridley, were leaked in advance, but given how early that was in the announcements, people didn't know whether to take that seriously or not. By the time Ken and Incineroar rolled around, Vergeben had been proven to be pretty credible.

In the moveset I made for him, he used a potted Piranha Plant as his up air.

My boy's up air became a playable character before he did and I'm not even mad.

I don't mean to sound condescending, but the reason why Nintendo games tend to be so laggy is because they don't have dedicated servers, and Nintendo players have cheap internet. Granted, that isn't always the fault of the player (comes down to where they live, or how minors won't be paying for their own internet and their parents just go for the cheap one, etc), but it makes sense - why would people who are already going for a cheaper gaming option, from a company that doesn't make a lot of online games, pay for fast but potentially expensive internet?

One cool and heartwarming (or bittersweet you could say) detail is that, Sonic actually slowed down to save Pikachu from the beam (you can see him reaching his hand toward Pikachu before Pika get Super Buu'ed). Which show that Sonic was ready to risk his life - even though he could probably have survive if gone at full speed- just to save a fellow Smasher.

Wow, a Smash game show Sonic caring about his friends in a more meaningful and interesting way than Forces did, despite Forces being filled with countless "my friends are my power" moment all over the place.

That's actually funny, not going to lie.

Disappointed Yoshi's was the only one we saw in the Direct itself.
Lucario is what I expected.
Peach and Daisy having that stupid ass FS still is stupid.
