Real Question: Why the **** is there an option to not buy a star when you can in Mario Party? In what situation would you pass it up?

Bonus Stars, and the possibility of the next Stars appearing next to other people. You could also save your coins to buy an item to instead steal a Star from another player, which is better, since it puts them behind.

Not that anyone thinks that far ahead.
