I think Ridley is gonna playable, but mainly because we are at "that" point with Smash. There isn't a large pool of notable first party characters left. Ridley is one of the last big popular requests left who hasn't been made playable yet. I think they'll try to get him in there.

This is coming from someone who absolutely doesn't really care either way. I think it's pretty simple to see why he would get in this time.

I’m doing pretty well, I’d say. I’m back home for the summer and am looking forward to E3. :)
Nice, nice. Always good to see positivity as you know gamers feel the need to meltdown over very little detail. I'm looking forward to e3 myself with games like Smash, Fire Emblem, potentially more Let's Go footage (game looks hype), and whatever else Nintendo might have lurking in the dark.

Didn't they say Let's Go would be outright playable at E3?

I could see Ridley being playable because Nintendo told Sakurai to do so and then they'd finally release him from the dungeon they keep him on at their HQ's basement

I really just want to see Smash and FE16 from Nintendo.
FE hasn't seen a console release since RD, just imagine what they can do with this game.
Like having a good story, a decent main character and not make us pay for the game three times.

So the literal opposite of Fates.

I mean from first party characters.

I really want Layton, he's one of the few characters that would legitimately excite me. Though he's probably not happening.
BOMBERMAN! BOMBERMAN! BOMBERMAN! BOMBERMAN! BOMBERMAN! BOMBERMAN!

What coukd he do that Villager doesn’t already do?
BF is not even remotely close to Villager moveset-wise and his Up Special can be changed. Balloon Fighter doesn't use fireworks, garden tools, umbrella, and all that other nonsense.

One thing I've always saw as a mechanic is his balloons. The way/amount he jumps depends if he has two, one or no balloons and could use a air pump to get more balloons (only up to two).

As someone who is less excited for a Smash game than he has ever been, this GameXplain discussion pleasantly surprised me. I actually stayed for the whole thing, I was expecting to last ten minutes. They actually discussed some interesting topics. Both cool ideas that I'd love to see, and stuff that had me going "NONONONONO".

It's also...

What? Why’d you mention all that. I was literally only talking about the up special

They said some cool/agreeable predictions but there were a number of facepalms too. I wonder if they were talking about the Vergeben rumor because they covered everything about it but without bringing the rumor by name or even implying it.

Oh

I thought you were implying Balloon Fighter and Villager couldn't coincide because of the Up Special.

So looks I'll be missing out on Microsoft's presentation this Sunday.

Got a family BBQ to go to. Dang.

The E3 week schedule at the Nintendo New York store mentions a lot of Mario Tennis Aces demo play along with Smash Bros. I assume this means Nintendo has one more surprise for Mario Tennis at E3 but after the months of information boatloads I can't imagine what they could show to wow us one last time before the release.

They could confirm Rafael Nadal as playable.

>Rafael Nadal is playable in Mario Tennis Aces
>New Mario & Sonic Olympics game announced at E3
>Rafael Nadal is in that game too, representing Team Mario. Danica Patrick is also in the game, representing Team Sonic

Smash will be on life support after the true crossover event of the century is shown at the same E3.
