I REALLY like Zelda. I spent hundreds of dollars on a CD-i for a game I knew was complete garbage.

But it's just not my genre. I'm not even particularly that fond of the better examples you listed.
Ah, understandable.

I feel the same with many turn-based RPGs. Except for Mario and Luigi games, and the little bit of Mega Man Battle Network I've played(even that had real time elements). Mega Man X Command Mission was alright though.

i literaly think Imma die because of this heat.

If you're home, make sure you have a fan or AC on right quick. Hot Heat ain't nothing to **** with.

Comparing Warriors games to the likes of DMC and Bayonetta isn't quite an apt comparison.

Warriors games don't have as much depth to their moment-to-moment combat mechanics because there is an element of strategy to the games in terms of what's happening to forts, and prioritising which forts to capture based on their properties and the flow of battle. They're strategy/hack-and-slash hybrids. Brutal Legend is a game that provides an even stronger example.

DMC and Bayonetta are just pure action games.

Hyrule Warriors was definitely a lot of fun, best part was being able to play as a variety of characters including Midna and (technically) Fierce Deity Link...

but after so many hours I felt I've had my fill of the game entirely...

More power to you.
You know how like the very first thing Thanos does in Infinity War is remove all his armor? Because he's so far above everyone else in power that he just doesn't need it?

I love OoT Ganondorf for the simplicity. He's got some leathers and a cape. He doesn't carry a weapon or wear armor, because he's so far above everyone else in Hyrule that he just doesn't need to. He'll punch a dude that comes at him with a sword.

HW Ganon is decked out head to toe in Samurai armor wielding two impractically large swords like he's compensating for something. >~>

That's most if not all Musou games in general really. Minor enemies are just there for you to cut through like a hot knife through butter so you feel badass knocking people all over the place. Also to build meter if you want the real reason
Makes sense. I get it, it can feel great just kicking the *** of a massive army of mooks and all, but after a while, even I'll admit that it can get kinda repetitive. Without enough challenging captains or bosses, it can at least temporarily loose it's oomph. All the more reason why I enjoy Adventure Mode so much. At least when I don't get ticked off at it's difficulty instead.

My issue was how the Zelda gimmicks just didn't mesh well with the Musou formula for me. Feels like it really killed the pace at times.

I can kinda agree to this as well. I've barely used the items outside of when they were completely necessary, but either way, they can very much mess with the pace.

I personally haven't played any of Musou's Warriors games outside of this one, so I was going in completely blind in regards to the gameplay.

Fair enough, although I haven't played Brutal Legend, so I wasn't sure if I should use it as an example.

But you know who deserved to be in Hyrule Warriors?

Groose. We need to let the Groose loose. LET THE GROOSE LOOSE.

The Warriors games are just silly fun to me. And now that Nintendo has gotten their own versions they're kinda like a fantasy escape from the normal franchise bindings.

Like I can kick ass with Tingle if I so choose, but I also can just be like ''YES I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY ZELDA HERSELF." if I want.

And that's great.

Ugh.

Sleeping progressively worse. Neighbors are smoking so much it's permeating my house. Still need to write ****.

Turning out to be one of those weeks.

I'm actually pretty excited about this.

There was a problem fetching the tweet
That's some phenomenal news.

Really enjoy using the Pro, it's ended up becoming my go-to gamepad. But it's been one shenanigan after the other whenever I've tried to make it play nice on PC. Had to use some workarounds to use it with A Hat In Time, and put Celeste on hold because I couldn't get it to acknowledge the thing.

Official support cures what ails me. Don't fiddle with the betas much, but I'll hop in for this.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. Finally, done with the hardest of the final exams.

Just one more left, and it's the easiest one. Once I'm done with that, I'm free to go, and I can finally catch up on the games I've been playing.

I didn't like the anime swords too much either, despite me being a fan of Nightmare/Siegfried from Soul Calibur. The simpler swords from TP and WW were cool. Though the armor/hair I thought was alright. Kind of liked Volga, it was neat bringing back a boss in a humanoid form.

I've mentioned many times before, I DO think Ganon in Smash should have a few more moves like his Zelda counterpart, but I don't want his entire moveset to revolve around his sword swings. Some of the Punches and Kicks are pretty fitting and are flashy.

Yeah I tried using the Pro before but that was pretty early on and it didn't really work fully.

I have an adapter for my Wii U Pro Controller that can read as XInput or DInput so that's generally been my controller of choice.

That's also probably what I will still use for emulating Wii U games soon because why not. Though if the Switch controller works well after this I'll use it for my Steam games.

I have PC GameCube adapter too (two actually) so that will cover Smash.

At this point, I think Down Air, Up Tilt, Side B, and Neutral B are tied to Smash Ganondorf for the foreseeable future.
I just can't imagine him without them.
Even if they change Ganondorf's moveset, I hope they keep those 4 moves.

Two words: STAY HYDRATED

Seriously, drink plenty of water if you haven't in this heat. Your body needs it.

I'm currently in the middle of studying for my hardest final (Philosophy, RIP me), and then it's my easiest one on Tuesday. (Also the other Philosophy 115 class at my college apparently got a take-home final from their professor, and words can't describe how jealous I am.)

I prefer to say I've a deep disdain to BotW rather that hate. Skyward Sword and that other herpes of a game are the ones I genuinely loathe.
All right. That offense was really inappropriate.
Like, it sounds like you are forcing us to like other games instead of Zelda. I loved BOTW.
Also.... you do not have to whine over other people's opinions.
Do not do something like that again and give up the obsession like what Opossum said.
I guess you were quoting a post by that Schnee117 user I've put in my ignored users list after how he answered me like a ********* the day I told what I thought of BotW weeks before its release, and how he keeps acting as such by liking every posts made to counter my arguments right?
Why are you acting so aggressive? Calm down, please.

Mushroom Kingdom Warriors when though?

One of the original characters can be the next Linkle and be Mario and Luigi's long lost sister.

Don't have any physical adapters myself, although that GC adapter sounds awesome and I'll have to look into it.

I ran some shenanigans with x360ce and a Bluetooth dongle to get my Pro up and running. It was somehow both less and more of a pain than it sounds, and it will not be missed.

He's the one who feels the most Zelda to me. Like you could slap him into a Zelda and he wouldn't feel very out of place.
This much I'll grant, but he only really seems to fit as a boss character.

Normally that'd be a backhanded compliment, since he'd likely be stripped of all characterization in the process.

But with Wizzro you'd hardly notice. So he's got that going for him.

He really wouldn't be out of place, imo.

If he or Volga somehow found their way into an official, mainline Zelda game, I probably wouldn't complain.

Volga is the best HW character and you can't make me change my mind

:061:
Volga's great too. :p

I didn't watch Infinity Wars so no. Lol

But I get what you're saying.

This is the same argument that people use against the Shin Godzilla movie. >>

I'm not gonna go into a fiery debate over who's gear is the most fitting. I mean, Hyrule Warriors isn't even canon to begin with, so I feel they have that additional freedom to try out something new. And for what HW Ganondorf was? He was a really sick, fun character to play. I really don't believe OoT Ganondorf could of brought something just as awesome to the table. While I agree that HW Ganondorf goes above and beyond, I don't think its as bad as you make it sound.

But this is just my opinion on the entire thing.

Never played HW but i did look up some videos regarding character gameplay to see how dynamic the movesets are.

The one character that stood out to me was Volga. Cool design and his charge attacks are just killer. Guy weilds a spear too, and spears are generally my preferred weapons.

I haven't played Linkle's Story so I don't think I can hold a fair opinion of her just yet.

That said, couldn't they have come up with something better for her name?

You know what's a game I feel like nobody will let you criticize? Super Mario Odyssey.

I mean, compared to Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey gets much less criticisms directed it compared to the former, or at least more people seem willing to come forward when admitting BotW's flaws or saying why they don't like it, at least from what I've seen on the Internet.

With my experience with Mario Odyssey, whenever I say Mario Odyssey is a good but not exactly the most amazing game out there, there's almost always someone online that comes forward to reiterate and explain how Mario Odyssey is the best game out there. It almost feels like I can't even give the smallest of criticisms about it.

Maybe that's just me.

Truly the people's hero.

This is the one I have but they seem pretty hard to come by these days.

Mayflash seems to be pushing this one now.

I was criticising it during the pre-release with some concerns I had and everyone acted like I was crazy. They all turned out to be true. Not that it's a bad game but yeah it's a tad overrated.

Though I think people are more vocal about BotW criticism as it's viewed as a more important game. Odyssey is good but it isn't revolutionary in anyway in game design discussion.
