SS is almost universally paned for multiple things, with latge pockets that don't like WW, TP, or SS, and plenty of people that don't like BotW (It's still in honymoon phase i'll give you that)

I would say there's a weird irony in a Metroid fan being hung up on not being allowed to criticize another game

But TBH all a large chunk of vocal Metroid fans do is pick random other Nintendo games to be offended at and complain about them.

I say criticise games all you like, just make sure your criticism is actually valid. One easy example, this is picking on you Final Smash Gamer its just an easy example I can use, is when someone criticises Skyward Sword, and they don't like motion controls, I ignore the review because I'm not going to get a review that is going to properly review the game, I just find that the reviewer ends up whining how there are motion controls in a game they should never have been playing in the first place, cause its not to their tastes.

This just reminded me.

Donkey Kong 64 would greatly benefit from a remake. It's just wild to me how Rare managed to butcher what made Banjo great while doubling down on the worst parts of it.

Funnily enough, the biggest thing that would fix most of Donkey Kong 64's problems, was if you could swap on the fly, and well I do believe that D-pad on the right hand of the N64 controller went unused in Donkey Kong 63, so some food for thought.

No-one tell me you aren't allowed to **** on the Metal Gear series when people ******* about Sons of Liberty just for making Raiden the player character for 90% of the game (in addition to valid issues like the escort mission). Not when people seem to have turned on Guns of the Patriots (which does have it's share of issues). Not when MGS V and Survive exist.

But yeah loads of games are like "Violence is bad! Now go shoot these people." which really hinders the message they want to convey. It's rarely ever shown to be used as a last resort and I think a game like that would actually be interesting.

I did read your summary there yesterday, but even still, nothing I read within it honestly justifies harboring what comes off as a legitimate grudge against a video game franchise. It just seems irrational.

Metal Gear does that most of the time. Except against bosses, those you have to murder no matter what. It's the inverse of action movies protagonists killing mooks but sparing the bad guy!

Though I'd love a game that makes it actively harder to do a Pacifist run but actually reward you for doing so. Like, a shooter where you can very much not kill anyone but good luck also avoiding getting shot at the same time.

Yeaaaah, I don't generally play games like that but anything that does that is kind of jerking you around.

IMO either go all in on it like Undertale if you're serious or just let it be. This is one cake where you have to eat the whole thing or it starts rotting.

I don't think you need to play the original XB to like Shulk as he is portrayed in Smash. Just don't spam "I'm really feelin' it" memes everywhere and you should be cool.
