Sorry. Saying "This herpes of a game" isnt a good view for you, you just sound suoer salty
Honestly I have to agree. And as cheeky as I'm being with this, I've seen so many convos on the internet that could all be collectively summed up like this:

99 Nintendo IPs not named Metroid on the wall, 99 Nintendo IPs not named Metroid,

Put one down, pass it around, 98 Nintendo IPs not named Metroid on the wall-

OMG after the longest time.

I've been working on getting this since Gold and Silver was released on the VC

I had to chain breed to get egg moves and shiny. Which took forever

Really, memes are fine, it's just when peoples don't know what make a meme funny and try to beat to the ground that it's start to get annoying. Like with my Shulk exemple.

I don't think you need to play the original XB to like Shulk as he is portrayed in Smash. Just don't spam "I'm really feelin' it" memes everywhere and you should be cool.:4pacman:
I think that's how I felt about the whole "Uganda Knuckles" and the phrase that came with it. I saw it long before in a WIP of the video where it came from and it had that adorable derpy Kuckles singing, it was funny, but when it started to invade every single place, it lost its charm. One of the memes I hated was about a pear with a mouth made by some artist AGES ago, called "The Pear of Salamanca", and one 1st of April of 2016, it was EVERYWHERE on DA, I swear, I didn't wanted to see that fruit ever again after it. I think even the creator got annoyed by it.

What do you guys mean you can like characters for reasons other than being memes?

I love how they're still throwing "Herpes Warriors" around a year later too.
Get some new material bub.

The reason is because not many would play a game involving actual politics.

And in today's society, it probably wouldn't be wise to make one.
I dunno, P5 did pretty well and that had some political themes in it, as do most forms of entertainment that come out.
Entertainment doesn't exist in a bubble people.

Metal Gear does that most of the time. Except against bosses, those you have to murder no matter what. It's the inverse of action movies protagonists killing mooks but sparing the bad guy!
Metal Gear (incidentally another game wrapped up in politics) isn't a great example really and you highlighted part of why.
You don't have a pacifist option against the bosses at all. Just a "I didn't shoot them with bullets, just a very large amount of Tranq darts that are probably deadly in that quantity anyway" if they aren't a fight against a Metal Gear.

The reason this happens is because Smash does a poor job representing Shulk's character. Probably more than any other character.

Smash Wii U/3DS didn't have any story mode so the only thing they could pull from is how he acts in battle. But in XC1, Shulk is only so energetic during battle gameplay because he's fighting with his friends and they're all supporting each other.

So in Smash, he's just talking to himself and it makes him look like a generic energetic shonen protagonist who's really full of himself.

But in XC1 he's actually really reserved and modest and would rather have his head stuck in a book or having a one-to-one chat with a close friend, than fighting. And the only reason he fights at first is for a purely vengeful and selfish reason, not because he enjoys the act of fighting itself.

Like Smash doesn't give you a proper impression of his character at all.

"Having some political themes in it" =/= "a game about politics".

That's like saying Dr. Who is about time travel.

XC1 and XC2 also have political themes in them but the games aren't about politics. So do a lot of Final Fantasy games. Hell, even Fire Emblem has this.

A game about politics would probably have to have a degree of visual novel and macro-management mechanics to it, which would be a very acquired taste. Along with whatever shooter gameplay or whatever you have for the main levels.

I think it'd be a super interesting concept, but it's not something that appeals to the wider market. Don't expect a AAA company to make such a game.

Yeah, it's always sad seeing a meme you love get overruse and then killed.

Like, I kinda like the Uganda Knuckles memes in a way, I don't know why, they look so cute, yet, their accent and the way they speak make me unable to contain my chuckle (no joke intented I swear) when I hear them. But the thing is, I started liking the meme after it was dead. 'cuz now, peoples talk less about it and thus, it's less annoying to found the good stuff about it.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say about "Smash Shulk" not being like "XB Shulk" and how the memes wer getting bad for the original one reputation, but you did a better job than me at explaining that.

In any case, tomorrow, I have alot to do, so, good night everyone!^^

I prefer to say I've a deep disdain to BotW rather that hate. Skyward Sword and that other herpes of a game are the ones I genuinely loathe.

I guess you were quoting a post by that Schnee117 user I've put in my ignored users list after how he answered me like a ********* the day I told what I thought of BotW weeks before its release, and how he keeps acting as such by liking every posts made to counter my arguments right?

But to answer to your question, well, at least Metroid suffered from 2 major droughts, so I think no one would find anything to complaint with.

I made a summary of it during Lana's day here.
The Legend of Zelda is bigger and more important than Metroid, and as such got the lion's share of the anniversary hype. Get over it.

It's ironic you'll sling juvenile insults at a franchise you don't like, but the moment someone so much as MENTIONS they don't like Metroid or Xenoblade you fly off the handle. It's just embarrassing, man. No one thinks you're clever for calling the game "Herpes Warriors." If anything it further serves to lessen their opinion of you.

Just give up the obsession at this point. It's not a good look.

I think I'm the only one that didn't got a chuckle out of the accent and the phrase...as the original singing knuckles was pretty cute:

Kirby 64 update:
I made it to Ripple Star.
It's been a really good game so far, although it's a bit slow paced and some levels are poorly designed.
However, the pacing is still better than it was in Dream Land 3 and the collectibles are less of a pain in the ass to find. Also, I really like the mix copy abilities gimmick this game has.
Anyway, I'm going to bed. I have a day off school tomorrow and I'll probably finish Kirby 64 in like an hour or so.
Good night guys!

Back from the visit. So here's the deal, the doctors had agreed that Aussie can have her phone back on Friday. But here's the catch, each friend can only talk with her for 1 hour like a visit. And there will be a limit of 20 people since any more would overwhelm her, especially in DM's. So whoever wants to speak with her on Friday, let me know or tag me. Sunday and Tuesday are also possible. Wednesday will be her release date from the hospital and grand return.

Adri, Champ, Aldra Nun, Aegis, Xeno, Dirk, SegaUbi, Kahirok, Mike, Ken, AceNova, Backslashed, Synth, Doodicus, KeybladeSmasher, Mr J, ThatShadowLink, and SCMidna are on the list That is 18 people now.

So speak up if you want to speak with Aussie on Friday or any of the proposed days. These are only DM's and the doctors are giving me that chance.

Eh, I'll say it. I'm a huge Zelda fan but I genuinely got nothing out of Hyrule Warriors. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing how much that game clicked with people. Particularly it's interpretation of Ganondorf....

Joke: Customers not reading the prices.

WOKE: Customers read the prices, you scan it, and it scans as more expensive. You now have to deal with it because someone forgot to change the prices.

It's a game that lets people actually play as someone other than Link, that's at least half the reason for most people.

I get that. But the actual gameplay loop itself didn't work for me. It's hard to get excited about playing Darunia when the gameplay itself does nothing for you.

Oh cool, I'm sure she will be thrilled to speak with you.

Will keep that in mind if possible. She will be online and you will know for sure. Also, the doctors are monitoring her, though that's more to see if things are "clean enough".

Warriors games are definitely a niche, yeah. If you just can't get into them, it won't do anything for you even in spite of it's quality as a Warriors game.

As someone who likes Warriors games, Hyrule Warriors is easily one of the best (THE best of the ones I've played, for sure), and I know a lot of the Warriors community agrees. You can tell Koei Tecmo took that one seriously, probably because they were handling one of Nintendo's flagship IPs.

And I think that's about it. I feel very exhausted right now after a day of asking around for these "scheduled chats".

Though I can't help myself since many miss Aussie and wish the best for her. Good thing there is one week of therapy left and she is finally free. Back in a familiar environment and chatting with those she love. It will be sweet, there's even a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament planned to celebrate her return.

I don't think anybody has a problem with somebody not liking Hyrule Warriors. As long as they are respectful about it and not sounding like a kid calling names, having a tantrum or whatnot.

My biggest issue with HW was that the minor enemies are so ineffective at attacking you.

The Legend campaign was fun, but felt a bit easier than it should be to me in some levels (not always the case, though; Ganondorf's first level for example is amazing, because it makes you feel powerful and unstoppable. Considering you play as Ganondorf himself, it makes perfect sense).

Adventure Mode's really been making up for the challenge aspect, though.

Other than that, the gameplay is still fun overall. I've had a lot of fun playing it, but I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

I mean, its a Warriors game. It'll be repetitive as hell because that's its nature. Doesn't help that the enemies usually aren't engaging or fun to fight much, but that has to do with the sheer number of enemies, rather than being any threat. Compared to DMC, Bayo and OG GoW, I think the series pales in comparison.

I feel like you'd only really be able to play one if it was a franchise you REALLY liked and you went into it every once in a while and left it at that.

That's most if not all Musou games in general really. Minor enemies are just there for you to cut through like a hot knife through butter so you feel badass knocking people all over the place. Also to build meter if you want the real reason

My issue was how the Zelda gimmicks just didn't mesh well with the Musou formula for me. Feels like it really killed the pace at times.

I REALLY like Zelda. I spent hundreds of dollars on a CD-i for a game I knew was complete garbage.

But it's just not my genre. I'm not even particularly that fond of the better examples you listed.
