Sometimes I feel so weird for liking Street Fighter V.


That sounds kind of boring.

It's a trope done so many times, its stale.

And I don't trust the Far Cry writers enough to make something nice out of that idea.

I haven't seen it pop up much, if at all, in FPS to be fair.

It'll probably be decent enough.

Well, damn, as if Christian's weren't getting **** on enough. I'm gonna go ahead and guess this also takes place in the American South. So, basically what they're saying is since I'm a Christian and I live in the south I must be ****ing evil. Hey, thanks Ubi!

Though I doubt they'll do something interesting with it. Montanna's got some cool and unique landscapes.

Only as a joke, minor sub-plot or a historical piece. Rarely do we actually get something set in modern day times where the main antagonist is "Extremist Christians." And when we do, it's always some White Savior story about how not all white people are racists and that minorities need white people to combat racism. The last game I could think of that sorta explored it was Bioshock Infinite, where it was both a "historical piece" and a minor sub-plot.

I get the snark but switch the words around and it could apply to any minority villain.

Maybe it's a lot more common in literature where people have more freedom, but once it moves to Television, Movies, and Games, you'll be hard pressed to find something where it was the entire focus. Not just for an episode, not just a sub-plot, not just a funny joke, but the entire focus. When there is, it's generally a historical piece rather than something contemporary.

Bioshock Infinite didn't get any because it's setting was historical fiction where the majority of people aren't going to deny racism was a thing, on top of that, it was a small thing that wasn't even close to the focus.

Things like Far Cry 5 or Get Out where it's modern day and the racism is the focus does stir a lot of controversy. No one is going to make a fuss about something that takes place during Jim Crow era, but you put it in modern times where people still insist that all forms of bigotry are a thing of the past, and it's a nightmare. The moment these sort of topics push past the 1960s, that's when people grow uncomfortable and the controversy starts.

Like, I'm disgusted and horrified on a number of levels by the kinds of people that act like this and things like this still just kind of make me feel like a monster just for existing. People can't look at the extremists in any group without assuming every single member of a group is like that, farmbubble fartbags doing that is half the reason they're farmbubble fartbags in the first place. And I mean, there's a LOT of farmbubble fartbags, but things like this just kind of make me feel simultaneously embarrassed for existing and too embittered towards anyone that thinks that way about me to want to "go to the right side."

And I mean. . .if it's a choice between being with people who are human trash and being with people who think I'm human trash. . .I don't really have anyone left for me then.

The nice thing with the developers of BI is that the ending almost caused one of their guys to quit, but the main developer, Ken Levine, actually talked with this guy and after getting feedback, altered the main villain, why people followed him and made the ending alot more about the theme of free will and choice. Which is rather nice and cool and something I respect about Levine in that he wasn't trying to go for a ending that came across as "religion makes you evil." and stuff and that he took feedback from one of his own team to help make the ending far less that.

Also, in terms of Christian Extremists, let's not forget what recently came out.

Still a great game though.

I think you took offense before looking into more details.

I don't get the reason to get offended unless you fall under the specific group of extremists. It's not like this is some cherry picked stereotype people, groups of christian extremists definitely exist and pride themselves of off being so. It's not something arbitrary like Christianity as a whole, it's a very specific set of ideals.

But part of the reason why these groups tend to flourish is because the nice, well rounded Christians like yourselves tend to not do anything about the extremists, instead whenever the extremists are called out, you guys tend to take offense to it to. And I'm not singling out Christians, the same could be said for other groups to such as the people under any ethnicity, LGBT, other religions such as Islam, and so on.

That feeling when RogersBase recorded a game of Smash he played with me literally sitting right next to him, yet the video itself doesn't appear on his vlog video for some reason. And yes, he ended up losing his match and was set to leave, but not before telling me to avenge him for his loss; I would technically not encounter him again after that. I still have to wonder if I unintentionally confused or worried the guy by running into him when I imagined I wouldn't see him for the rest of the convention...

Oh well; I think it was for the best, honestly, and the video has probably been deleted or locked away somewhere by now. I didn't even imagine myself running into him after the first encounter, but it happens.

USF2 is getting some odd reviews.

They're all like "It's good, but it's not good."

All criticize the price, as they should.

The price and the lame mini game should be the only real complaints. Both of which are pretty valid I'm sure.

It's effectively a port with 1 new mode and 2 "new" characters. Not the worst of it's kind, but far from the best.

I'm sorry that you feel this way, Coricus. While I am not sure what has been happening for you recently, I know there are humans out there who are completely crazy or have insane views that they can't break away from. As a result, I sympathize with you as I've sometimes encountered these types of people before; it's almost impossible to reason with them and it's best to just let them be or attempt to report them to authorities if they go too far.

Don't let yourself get down from these type of people, though; there are plenty of humans out there who are not trash or think of you as such. For example, I believe you're a great person and that I am happy to know a fellow Smash fan who is as passionate about the game and its future as I am.

Oh I'm not offended. It's done plenty often for me to not really care anymore. As a matter of fact I'll never deny the fact that there are indeed extremist assholes in Christianity. I just think it's hilarious all things considered that they always stereotype the south as the extremists and that's not exactly incorrect either since that's where Christianity thrives the most. You took my post way wrong. It's just not a very original concept is all.

And for the record there's not much we can do considering that we're always drowned out by the offensively loud minority. It's not like we can straight up protest against them because in every church there are extremists and no church can get along. The reason there's a church on every corner in the south isn't just because we're a religious culture it's also because none of us can agree on anything. Like, no one agrees with each other. It'd be a cluster **** if anyone decided to protest against anyone. Because everyone has their own views. The most we can do is to try to distance ourselves from those people.

Pretty solid design for the most part. Simple enough to allow for cool gear to add on top of the base uniform. Though I don't dig tattoos on Virgil. He's supposed to be a dorky and good natured kid. Tattoos are an easy way to make someone badass or attempting to be badass.

The best part is that he has the baseball cap from the first costume and the dreads/color scheme from his newer ones.

I hope he's DLC at some point.

This similar to what minorities feel 24/7.

None of this means you're a bad person or a "farmbubble fartbag," it's just a reminder that white people aren't always the good guys like we're lead to believe (until they reveal that the main character is a white guy, and that'll be lame). If it's uncomfortable, that's fine, it's a topic that isn't always brought up in our society unless it's in a historical context. It's not a message that all white people are bad but rather that there are other issues out there that need to be talked about.

yep yep, I do, the battle mode is way better. not having to work for characters is always good, youb ust work to get kart parts. the racing is more or less the same. All in all, I think, imo, it was worth the double dunking

Aside from that, the only difference is the reshaped Battle Mode, which I believe is on the levels of the awesomeness that was Double Dash's, if not even better.
