Hell I had fun with Corki in a game just now. And I NEVER had fun with Corki before.

Character is terrible as hell in the current from what little I can tell but when he isnt . . .ughhh


I still remember AP teemo. Because everyone loves to play against invisible mines that do 30% of your HP each, and he has dozens of all across the map.

I watched The Gaming Brit's video on how Ratchet and Clank lost its edge.

If you have some time to kill I recommend you give it a watch.

I've only played the first game, but looking at how the remake differs from the original does show that some of the charm was lost.

From a gameplay perspective, the remake looks fantastic, but the dialogue is very weak compared to what was there before.

Being a movie tie-in probably had something to do with that. It felt very kiddie to what I've seen from the other games.

Still, I'm interested in giving the remake a shot someday.

Closest contenders for funniest writing , for me would be Up Your Arsenal and Gladiator. The only thing I think the original has over the remake is length. The remake is really short, I guess because making such high fidelity games takes longer to do these days.

From what I could find:
- 10 new arena maps, mostly focused around the new terrain defence bonus feature (that boat map is one of them, so not quite Celica hype yet)
- Five new "Defensive Battles" maps, with the maps again based around the new terrain features (similar to the Starter Support maps, basically, and they come with lots of quests too. A couple of people have jumped the gun and are claiming these are new story maps, which would appear to be incorrect)
- Ursula's Grand Hero battle is returning, along with several quests that involve using her (a few people have mentioned Narcian as well; I'll check on this myself in a bit)
- Possibly a new debuff/status effect that stops people from attacking (they added an icon to that effect, at least; I'll see if there are any text strings that might give any more clues)

That's all I could find of interest, anyway.

Oh nice. The grand hero battle returns would be helpful for me to get those two on hard mode. More quests for orbs are always good, thanks.

I doubt they'd add such a nonsensical plot points such as "color stealing"
I don't mean that as an insult, I mean it becuse the whole idea of color stealing is a subject to Cartoon Physics and despite all the weird stuff in Pokemon, it has never used such things.

Gaming Brit brought up the cutscenes and the exact bit of dialogue in the video. The cut scenes are very stiff and just not interesting, and considering this was a tie-in to a movie, you'd think they would put a bit more effort into the animation of the in-game cutscenes. As for that bit of dialogue, yeah it was pretty bad.

Definitely not the intended result. Dunno how that even happened, I didn't do anything to change her specular intensity, at least not intentionally. And the intended change isn't showing up at all.

At least I know how to not make the game crash.

So after playing Mario Kart 8 for a bit, I was thinking I was doing very well because it was literally extremely easy to win races....

So I randomly checked my stats on the screen just cuz...and noticed 'Smart Steering Usage: 100%'
First off why does the game start me off with Smart Steering and why doesn't it make it clear where I can go to turn it off? Eventually found the option to turn it off mid-race when I paused the game which is probably the worst time to give me the option in first place...immediately crashed into a wall and got bodied by a barrage of red shells...

Man this game's pretty brutal if you fall behind even once...

Battle mode is just pure chaos as well...

Anyways while picking up the game at EB Games, I decided to have a gander around the store as usual to see if anything catches my interest...I really wish they'd start selling more Metroid merch...it really makes me sad...Plenty of Zelda merch though...One thing I noticed they had was a Zelda themed Chess set which was really cool (Not cool enough for me to spend $90 on it, but still pretty cool)...

The only Metroid merch I found that wasn't amiibo was just the one World of Nintendo Metroid figure...which was in Wal-Mart...but sometimes it would just be cool to get a few Metroid themed key-chains or stickers or something but everything is mostly Mario, Zelda, Pokemon...As a Zelda fan it's cool see, especially since the merchandise only increased after BotW's release, but it still would be nice if they had more for other Nintendo games...

I feel like I've gotten decent enough even as someone whose only kart experience is with a completely different franchise several years ago that I can come from behind if I mess up. . .if it's early enough in the race. Unfortunately the game loves to body you right at the end of a race, and often. It was imperfect working my way through the first two race tiers and 150cc hates me and everything I represent.

I wouldn't go online without having some progress in 100cc first, it's easier on my sanity to lose to people but it's tough enough to compete that at least having middle of the road practice is helpful.

Then they need to make it more clear how to turn it on and off rather than just making us start with it in the first place...cuz for those of us that didn't want it on, it was a pain trying to figure out how to turn it off...Smart steering actually cost me a win once after rasing the speed cuz I wanted to cut through some grass to pass the 1st and 2nd placers ahead of me just before they get to the finish line and it forced me to stay on the track (and lowered my speed for some reason), yeah no smart steering for me...I want to have full control of my vehicle as I'm driving off a cliff...

My first race was 50cc cuz I'm about as noob as it comes to Mario Kart but it was way to slow and dull, I've been racing 150cc for the time being, I've been doing fairly well for the most part, barring the few times I get massacred right near the end of a race...The game has simple enough controls that I'm able to more or less get the hang of it fairly quickly, from hear it's basically getting to know the tracks and figuring out how each character fairs with which vehicle...
