It's obviously releasing on less platforms, and Capcom has even stated they're intentionally making the game for competitive players. Who in fact, love it. Who's to say these figures weren't expected in some way, but instead Capcom is making more money off of eSports and stuff?

Most competitive players don't like it as much, especially a big name in Infiltration.

They mostly play it for the mo,eh which is there.

It isn't a bad game but compared to fighters which does sell better like MK and Smash, it's kinda faili bc especially considering SF4 at its first launch did better and Pokken outsold SFV at one point at Launch

It comes to ~300 units sold per day.

For a franchise that defined the fighting game genre, that's rather embarrassing. Also makes for bad PR.

This is a key point to the whole argument really
Street Fighter is huge and whilst over 1 million is good, it's not good enough for every game out there (GTA doing 1.6 million in a year would be a disaster for example).

Now they are making some money off of the competitive crowd and the DLC. But that's going to be from a group of people smaller in size than the install base and it doesn't really tell us much at all.

Capcom also expected to have 2 million units moved by the end of March last year.
SF V is only at 1.6 million almost a year later.

Can I say that, even tough I never played SFV, I still feel a little sad for Capcom? Even tough it's their fault that the game failed financially?

I guess like Jim Sterling said in his last Evolve video, you have to get a great impression when the game release. It's your only chance to make sure to your audience that the game is worty to buy. Because if not, then good luck trying to regain people trust because it will be very hard, or impossible in Evolve and SFV cases. Even with all the free DLC or additional content in the world.

Ninty's got a Super Bowl ad for the Switch apparently.

I'm skeptical about it generating as much as buzz as Super Bowl ads normally do, but the most important thing is they got a spot and showed off Zelda. Though I'm disappointed they didn't have Skyrim or FIFA in the extended commercial. Poor mans versions or not, they would have generated more buzz than the motion control games IMO. It's good Street Fighter 2 was there.

I hear this a lot that Nintendo's online service isn't worth it, but honestly we don't know how it will truly handle for the Switch...

I feel like that's one reason it will be free for the first few months...it's like a free trial and then once it gets up and running then the fees will drop...
As much as the fee sucks it gives Nintendo an opportunity to give us a better service that people have been asking for since the Wii...

That's honestly good, because VR can be translated as "Privilege goggles", you need lots of money for it and it can be bad for the eyes depending on the person, so that's less potential VR players

Well, it's not impossible to work with games used for VR systems like the Playstation VR or Vive. I mean, the Joy-cons are pretty similar to the controllers used for each VR, although last time I checked, the Vive's controllers didn't have any control sticks, whereas the Joy-cons do. Then there's the potential alongside the HD rumble.
Either way, we'll see what happens. Although it is nice to see Nintendo is preparing for future events.
