Anyway, I figured I'd post my prediction roster for the base version of Fire Emblem Warriors.

Bare in mind though it's likely not gonna be to everyone's taste. That's what DLC's for. Basically, I'm going with the Hyrule Warriors method.

Shadow Dragon: Marth, Caeda, Tiki, Merric, Gharnef
Shadows of Valentia: Alm, Celica
Awakening: Chrom, Lucina, Robin, Frederick, Tharja, Gaius, Gangrel
Fates: Corrin, Azura, Xander, Ryoma, Takumi, Camilla, Garon
Warriors: Original Hero (alternatively, Anna), Original Villain

Basically six heroes from each game shown so far, plus a villain. That being said, I kinda cheated a bit and merged Shadow Dragon and Shadows of Valentia, since they take place at about the same time with only a sea separating them.

I also tried to diversify weapon types. Swords, Axes, Lances, Thunder Magic, Wind Magic, Dark Magic, Bows, Hidden Weapons, and Stones/Transformations are all present. Staves were purposely left out since they're not combat weapons, making the only other major weapon types left out Fire and Light Magic (and if they have an original Anna, they can have her use one of these).

As for roster selection, I took into account roster space (as this roster assumes a smaller roster), importance, worldwide release and notability, popularity within their game, and whether or not they have a unique weapon. Take Merric, as an example. He's not the most important Shadow Dragon character, but he's important enough. The fact that he has a unique weapon (the Excalibur tome is his signature) secured him a spot. Likewise, Gaius and Tharja were picked for their overwhelming popularity in Awakening and the fact that they offered unique weapon types (hidden weapons and dark magic).

I truly don't think we'll see characters outside of the Shadow Dragon/Awakening/Fates triad in the main roster (save Echoes:SoV for aforementioned reasons). People may whine about the lack of Ike, Lyn, and Roy, but let's be real...Ike didn't even get into Heroes at launch. He's STILL not in Heroes. If other games were likely present, why not show Ragnell in the teaser instead of Yato, Raijinto, and Sigfreid all at once? That's where DLC comes in.

If there were three DLC packs, I'd say they'd be this:

- Blazing Blade DLC Pack: Lyn and Hector
- Smash Bretheren DLC Pack: Roy and Ike
- Sacred Stones DLC Pack: Eirika and Ephraim

In the event of a fourth pack, I see it being the stars of Fire Emblem Switch. Basically, only Jugdral gets left out here. RIP Jugdral, doomed to never have a western release.

So yeah. Those are my thoughts based on nothing but the thirty second trailer. :p
If Ike isn't available as a base game character I'd probably throw up.

Eh, I wouldn't call Corrin a strong and powerful female character (or a strong character in general). Maybe by intention she is, but by execution she's very flawed as she shares every issue that male Corrin has a character and is generally just as bland as he is. Even in terms of female characters in the series, there are much better examples in characters like Elincia who do have to deal with being a being a leader, what that requires of them, and show some strong growth from the events that play out for them. With Corrin, the story doesn't allow for them to change too much (hell, arguably it asks for them to not change and retain their flaws) and it doesn't do a good job portraying the character's actions within the story in a way that works functionally or believably.

Ultimately though, I do agree that her popularity does come down to design. Male Corrin isn't too appealing for many whereas Female Corrin seems to have a charm, and as seen with some of the other characters in the series, good design can be enough to make a character more popular even if their character and story role are lacking by comparison. It just depends on the eye of the beholder, and for many fans that design was enough to win her a lot of favor.

The Robins' designs are better though
I feel because of the writing, it didn't help alot of the characters in the story. I mean, it's true how Corrin doesn't get much opportunity to show them developing in the story. But it also doesn't help when part of that comes from the siblings, besides Elise and Sakura, acting like entitled whiners and not even giving Corrin a chance to show development. Like with Xander(Chapter 12), Camilla(Chapter 13 and 23) and Leo(Chapter 18) in Birthright, Takumi in Conquest in general and, as I mentioned before, Xander and Ryoma in Chapter 6 Revelations. Like Corrin doesn't get a chance to explain their actions and those siblings don't let them even some space to talk.
Combined with Corrin's passive nature and little room for aggression, it doesn't give Corrin a chance to show development while his siblings are making a punching bag of them with their words. If you gave Corrin a defiant/aggressive stance on the times when they need to be, I'm sure people would have a bit more higher opinion of them. Like if Corrin stood their ground with Leo in Chapter 18 Birthright by talking about the people Garon has killed, his oppression over his own people and why Corrin is standing against Garon for his siblings who won't stand up to him rather than letting Leo go on and on about betraying their Nohrian siblings and hating his guts for the care the other siblings gave them.

Either way, I feel that the story is the main problem for all the story characters in general and it especially hurts Corrin alot when I enjoy their supports in trying to learn about the other characters due to being trapped in solitary and I actually enjoy the idea of them having a rather Rapunzel-like backstory. I also thought Male Corrin's design and voices were pretty nice alongside Female Corrin's design. I also believe older/taller Corrin is much better compared to Male 3 Robin. I guess I'm also sad that Male Corrin gets a much harsher treatment compared to Female Corrin.
It's why I'm hoping that if Fates ever got a re-release or remake, that the developers will look upon what's wrong with the story, re-work with what's wrong with the story and alongside that give Corrin much better development........as well as make Reina a non-Corrinsexual and actually allow Male Corrin to be able to get all the child units even after marrying a first-Gen female unit.

In other news, I got to see King Kong just recently. That was a really great movie and loved it alot. I was especially smiling during the last scenes of the movie. I really hope that Legendary Pictures takes inspiration from King Kong and use it for the next Godzilla movie with Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah. If they take what's good with King Kong and put it into the next Godzilla movie, I can definitely see the next Godzilla being really good.

I'm the opposite. I'm tired of them releasing amiibo doing basically nothing.

Like everyone is saying "oh they have to wait for a game where a character can have decent functionality before they make an amiibo of them", but that's crap, they've released tons of amiibo that do next to nothing in-game.

I also don't like them relying on amiibo to lock content for the sake of it. They should have more elements of a growth system in place, like in Smash, where you're raising a character and saving them on your figure.
I get you, but personally I keep my amiibo on a shelf. I only got amiibo of my Smash mains (+Duck Hunt and R.O.B. because it was the only way I could get G&W... (and -Shulk who I'm still missing)), Kirby, Link, and Pac-Man. I really didn't care about the functionality, I just liked the idea of having figures of my favorite characters, like real life Smash trophies.
Yeah BOTW is the only time I'm kinda annoyed at them. And yeah, while the amiibo's content is superfluous at best... I still want those costumes.

Though I can forgive it if they make them DLC down the line.
Don't forget the weapons, and the drops being random.
The only way you can use light arrows outside of the final boss is by getting the Twilight Bow with the Smash Zelda amiibo.

Why.

Think about it. Hyrule Warriors only used three games for the base, and expanded further through DLC. Considering we're still mostly in the dark about this game and it's releasing late this year, I'm banking on a small initial roster.

Plus Ike would sell, so they'd almost definitely save him for DLC.

I'm just getting tired of amiibo in general.

I hate that content I really want in a game is locked behind a hard to get figure that I don't want/can't afford to waste money on.
I'm looking at you, Breath of the Wild.
Perhaps this is small comfort, but...if you're industrious, there are ways to imprint data from amiibo onto readily available (and cheap) NFC tags.

Of course I'd never advocate piracy or anything.

Not ever. At all. Mods.

But if you're simply curious about how they work, for example. Then Google is your friend.

Hmm... out of curiosity and to those specifically who haven't already said so, what are your guys opinions on me? I haven't exactly asked a question like this before here (if at all) and would like to know more from those I often do not interact at this time if that's ok.
From what I've seen, you tend to cycle between highs and lows caused by a deep passion which, unabated, leads to uncontrollable hype, and thereafter a fall.

But we've discussed that.

Beyond that I see a fan with a great deal of hope. And beyond that, an overall decent human being. After all, in asking us what you think, you are at minimum being considerate.

I think you're alright, personally.

It might be because Robin just isn't that popular in general, and the male version being more popular as it is might make a female variant a little pointless right now.

Although who knows, maybe in the future.

Like I said, it's a fanservice armor and the closest thing you'll get to an old Link armor without amiibo.

Yeah BOTW is the only time I'm kinda annoyed at them. And while the amiibo's content is superfluous at best... I still want those costumes.

Though I can forgive it if they make them DLC down the line.
I dunno, I feel like Tunic of the Wild is closer in spirit.

Although if you want an exact copy of an old Link armor then yeah.

I feel like a lot of Amiibo content simply wouldn't happen without the Amiibo justifying their existence, be it BotW costumes or various crossover content in other games, so while it can be a bit frustrating to have something you want that you can't get I'm kind of hoping it gets Nintendo into enough of a habit and stockpiles them enough assets to get them to keep making said content even if and when Amiibo are phased out.

I don't think they'd pass up the opportunity to give Tellius its own pack given there are also relatively popular characters like Black Knight, Micaiah, Sothe and Elincia to consider. Especially the former two.

I could even see them upping the DLC packs to three characters in exchange for maybe having fewer packs. They could add Roy to Lyn and Hector's pack to make it an Elibe pack. Not sure what they'd do with Sacred Stones. Maybe add Joshua, he was popular, right? (It's more just the fact that he's literally the only other character I can remember... even though I've played that game xD).

My advice would be to breath in and out while thinking of other things you like; think about Isaac using Ragnarok as a Meteor Smash on the Duck Hunt dog Dark Pit as he goes flying into the abyss of Final Destination. That way, you will have other thoughts in mind compared to what you're thinking of right now. :)

You seem like a really guy, one who is quite passionate about the things they like. While I personally think you overreacted a bit a few pages ago, I don't let an incident like that make me judge an entire person.

I think it would be wise to take a bit of a break, but not leave entirely. I'm sure there would be a lot of people who would miss you if you left.

We've got some news for all the Fate series fans here.

First off, the first Heaven's Feel movie of the trilogy will premier in Japanese theatres on October 14. It will be called "Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel 1. presage flower." The poster for the movie can be viewed below:

Second, we have a new trailer for the upcoming Fate/Extra anime: Fate/Extra Last Encore. It is based around the video game series that is a spinoff of F/SN, and it will be released in winter 2018

Finally, a new Fate/Apocrypha anime will be coming out this July. This anime will be based on another spinoff series of Fate by the same name. Here's the trailer:

Seems like we still have a long wait until the HF movies begin, but the Fate/Apocrypha movie caught me by surprise. I haven't read Fate/Apocrypha yet, but I do know several of its characters, so this should definitely help kill some waiting time for those few months.
I found about HF's release date by accident when browsing MAL, guess it'll take sometime for it still

As for Apocrypha, is it a "Grand Order" styled aka "holy **** how many drugs were they in?" or something that resembles the main series more?(As in, the Grail War and stuff)
Well I mean, not everyone who prefers Female Corrin does so for fanservicey reasons. Hell, I much prefer her over Male Corrin despite not really liking either too much in Fates itself.

She just clicks with the design better IMO and has a better voice.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I prefer Femui too, her default design is just way better and her customization options are actually usable. I only went with Mamui once and that was because I wanted to try out Felicia 1(conclusion: Femui is better and Jakob 1 is best Oifay)

Well I don't think of you as a bad person if that's what you're really looking for...I do know that you're passionate about Smash and what we could get for a next installment of the series...whereas the rest of us are focusing mostly about our other interests..

It's usually best not to worry too much about what others think of you however...that's how people tend to think less of themselves if they think everyone dislikes them...Of course that said, don't be an asshole (not that I'm saying were being one just speaking in general)

Considering they aren't exactly the most prevalent or well known (read: inherently profitable) of characters, much like what Nintendo did with their other less-individually-profitable amiibos (the retros, the Miis), it certainly wouldn't surprise me if the Corrins wound up in a two-pack. I hadn't thought of that before though, but it certainly makes sense.
I figured since both would be released around the same time, it made more sense to release them as a pair rather than separately. Not really thinking of it in a manner of profit, but just for thematic purposes.
In seriousness, I don't have strong opionions about many members (i do have a few), but I would sya there are other suers here you have been 100 times worse and still stick around all the time.

I feel like I have more poetic happy places.

Like Corrin beating the jerky out of K. Rool.

Of course, I actually like Dark Pit, but that involves actually having played Uprising and then having done a whole lot of Light Vs. Dark when I wrapped up single player.

I think K. Rool would not mind doing this for many reasons (in a 1v1 Final Destination match anyway where K. Rool throws a kannonball on Corrin's head as a meteor smash). I'd certainly feel better about watching a match like that. :)

I added a zoo for the polar bears in minecraft, and it's exactly like seeing polar bears in a real zoo

You either can't see them or if you can see them they aren't doing anything

Edit: I take that back

They also drown in knee high water

The fact that they showed all three major character linked Fates swords in the teaser instead of opting for Ragnell is enough for me to doubt them using Tellius in the base game.

This is only true if they go the Hyrule Warriors method...which I honestly don't think they will.

I know most people here don't have any experience with Warriors games beyond Hyrule Warriors because they only play on Nintendo or don't find Warriors gameplay interesting without a beloved franchise attached to it, but trust me, as far as modern Warriors games go, Hyrule Warriors was the exception to how these rosters are put together, not the rule.

If you are expecting Chrom, Lucina, Marth, etc, to all have completely different playstyles, then I'd say to temper expectations a bit. In most Warriors games, different characters usually fit under a class (similar to Fire Emblem), and can have different weapons based on what class they are. The movesets are the same but they have different stats, meaning certain characters can excel more with different weapons. There's even Avatar creation in some games where you can make an avatar of your own custom class.

Each character has what is known as "compatibility" with a certain weapon type as well. In order to use a weapon type, a character must get their weapon compatibility rank to a certain rank (from 1 star to 4 star), which is done by reaching a certain Level. So one character will be able to use Dash class weapons from the get go, while another character will need to reach compatibility rank 4 to use those kinds of weapons.

Furthermore, characters can have signature weapons that only they can wield properly.

The only reason Hyrule Warriors went with the system of "every character has unique weapons that only they can use" is because Zelda characters are much more quirky and unique compared to one another compared to Fire Emblem characters. Where as the difference in abilities between Fire Emblem characters is much closer to the differences between Dynasty Warriors characters.

I'm not saying FE Warriors will have the EXACT same weapon system as modern Dynasty Warriors games, but it's much more likely to be closer to that of the core Dynasty Warriors games than it is Hyrule Warriors. Which is honestly appropriate, since that's similar to how weapons and classes work in Fire Emblem itself - and Koei Tecmo like borrowing from the source materials gameplay elements (like the exploration elements and classic Zelda item usage in Hyrule Warriors).

So you can probably expect MORE characters than this, but don't expect them to all play completely differently. It's honestly gonna be much harder to differentiate a lot of these guys anyway. Even looking at Smash, Marth, Roy, and Lucina are very similar in terms of the kind of moves they pull off, and even some of Corrin's swordswipes are borrowed from Marth too (Up-air, Forward-Air). It will be even harder to differentiate them in a game like Dynasty Warriors, where stuff like frame date and hitboxes aren't near as relevant or intricate as in a fighting game (and they don't need to be either).

Oh well, thematically they work fine as well, given they are the same character, but neither is really more important than the other.

But I figure if Nintendo thought they'd could make a notably higher profit selling them separately, they probably would. At least imo.

Like, hypothetically, were they to make an amiibo of both Clouds, I suspect they would be sold apart, because they'd each make a decent chunk of change for Ninty.

Nope, you're wrong, this is Seth, tremble before his might!
You probably don't remember him because you got waisted.
Well I usually go for low-waisted, which is funny, because Seth goes for high and wasted.

But in all seriousness: can Seth Rogen please be a character in FE?

Hmm... well guys, after some decision making and what-not (among looking at people's opinions), I have decided to stay on Smashboards, although I plan on taking breaks from the boards if Fire Emblem becomes a recurring discussion point throughout the day here for long periods of time or in other places as to prevent me from ranting or anything else that may cause me to not act like myself.

I'm going to be honest again with you guys; I really do intend on being a genuinely nice person and I try to do my best to stay calm under most situations. I've learned that being kind and helpful is an important trait that I intend on retaining. But like all humans, we have anger and feelings of frustration every now and then. Today was just a day where I ended up choosing to release those emotions; I now feel much better since they're no longer within me.

Although I am unsure if I can receive forgiveness from Opossum Opossum at this time, I really do have to apologize for my opinions being rather harsh. I really am passionate about Smash and its future, but unfortunately, the amiibo news really got to me and I ended up acting like an entitled fool because of that when I shouldn't have completely dismissed the possibility the amiibo was a variant of an existing character. While I am no longer as upset as I was earlier, I do have to politely disagree with this news and that will be my final viewpoint on the matter. Either way, I imagine the chances for new characters in the port still isn't out of the question; I plan on holding onto that as something to look forward to in the months leading up to E3. I hope you can forgive me for my actions.

you dont have to leave because of a topic you dont like. Just ignore it and continue talking about what you want. And maybe not be so angry about it being talked about

Of course, but I think for now (and possibly for quite a while), that's what I would prefer doing; leaving for a bit and then coming back if its brought up. I'll eventually go back to what I was doing before, but its just for now so I can adjust (as silly as that may sound).

Just watched the new MHA(finally)
First 6 minutes were OP+**** we already knew(I counted), good to see we're still with the slow ass pacing from S1
OP was nice, though nothing special. Considering it and the pace, my bet is that we get a new one by episode 13-14 with Stain teasing or smth. Maybe do an Evolving Credits and just add or change some scenes with we get to the Stain Arc before the midway point(which I hope we do because we don't need repeats of Deku vs. Kacchan where the fight takes the whole goddamn episode).

ED song is nice and waifu-focused ED shows how much of a long-running Shonen MHA will be.

Finally,

I love Iida's hand gestures, they speak to me in a personal level
Also, he's totally Kunikida aka Daddy Knox, just without the cute ribbon and ponytail

Guys. I want you all to at least TRY Ex-Aid. Not just because I'm a KR fangirl, not just because I want the fandom to grow, but holy ****, this show just pulled off a great twist of the 'stuck in an MMO' theme that's used by popular stuff like Konosuba, Log Horizon and THAT show
