LOL I missed Humpback Pump Track's announcement initially because I couldn't tell if it was an April Fool's thing or not. Turns out they just wrapped up a big Splatoon tourney in Europe and announced it there.
The single picture I saw looks much more dully colored than the other announced stages, but then indoor BMX tracks tend to be a lot more dully colored than the rest of real life, too. Seeing as your job is to spray brightly colored ink on it, the stage probably isn't staying brown for long LOL.
I like that they seem to be focusing on the Inkling's lifestyles a lot more, though. Hangouts, gyms, concert stages and BMX tracks fit the idea of commercialism obsessed teenage squids a lot better than various industrial locations. Kinda hoping the stages they bring back from the original other than the one already announced lean more into their lifestyles, too.
*EDIT* Looking at other screenshots, the stage's identity and attention to detail comes through more on these. Even the more reduced pallete on this stage stands out a bit more than a lot of the comparatively brighter areas in the original due to the way the colors, lighting, and textures were handled.
. . .Waaaait, is that a souvenir shop? LOL
*EDIT EDIT* UUUUUUUUUUUUUH. Just saw it pointed out that one of the weapons in a screenshot might be a Hero Splatling Replica. It has those glowing blue lights. . .
