Well, I feel better about myself now, lol. Since I beated him at level 45.
I really don't want to be arrogant, but I kind of think you did it with a little bit of luck lol.... No.. Wait I literally mean you might equip items that upgrade your Luck.
You are right on the location being a problem. Which is why I decided to move to a better place so that we could fight like real drivers.
I mean hell there is one driver enemy in Mor Ardain at the old Bridge where it is very narrow and there is a level 85 bird around the area, so you can't even lurk him out either.
Funny thing is... I beat him by knocking him off the bridge... Yes, that actually count, but of course you don't get any rewards.
I don't know, maybe they just do it by accident?
Something tells me they might be intentional.
Rex: Mythra/Pyra, Gorg and Roc
Nia: Dromarch, Adenine & Agate
Gorg is for Nia, and Adenine is for other.
Though, while no.4 was able of heal. I don't remember her healing alot during the last fight. Maybe the final result wouldn't have changed that much if I had changed her place with Tora & Poppi.
The AI tend to focus on doing driver combo first, and then depending on the Blade combo chart and which type of Blade you are using. Sometimes you have to wait for them to charge, or if you have the element for the last Blade combo, sometimes... You have to do it yourself lol...
I always use Nia when battling against unique monster.
Dromarch special II heal alot too, I was really happy when I saw my entire party was fully healed.
This is why you have to look at every Blade's special art description and also their battle skills.
Besides Dromarch's special II... his special III and IV also heals... just drop HP potions. I also love Dromarch's special IV attack, the fact that Nia rides on Dromarch, he shoots aqua wave, and then Nia catches his weapon and does the final slash was just insane.
Vess special I also heals
So is Floren's special II Lilliam Dance
Boreas II and III special
Dahila's special III
Ursula's special II
and that's all I know so far.
Yeah, I have still trouble to know which element can break which elemental orbs. Granted, I did break the only one I was able to got.(Which still almost killed the boss)
I see, I remember I mention this back in my old combat tip...
You will notice sometimes some orbs blinks, this means you have a Blade that its element is opposite of that orb. Orbs need three hits in order to break.
Opposite elements can do two breaks, sometimes you have aware if any of your Blades can do opposite element orb break when doing chain attack. Or you must at least break one orb in order to do more chain attack, and you have to press B in order to recall the Blade you used and do special II attack, and then if do another round is special III.
Water<> Fire
Wind<>Ice
Earth<>Thunder
Dark<> Light
Go with opposite element orb first... and then it may be a gamble to choose which Blade you use until
So, if you can, the maximum orb is... eight... so this mean you can do at most 24 special attacks! But if you did not know yet, you can only do chain attack until you get full burst... and full burst is when every driver and Blade performs Special IV and it can do a hell lot of a damage!
You may also find element orb break Aux cores that once a Blade equip this Aux core, if the Blade hits the opposite element orb it will just break, sometimes it will even hit more than one orb, and this can rack up the element gauge.
So, I may have to recall my past review on XC2 battle system, the chain attack is a super huge improvement over the original, no need to mention XCX because there weren't any chain attacks.
Potions honestly didn't help me alot, I don't know where they flyed, but I was never able to see them during the fight due to how big the boss is. So I had count on my auto-healing equipement and Nia to save me.
Yeah, that's my grip on HP potions... but it seems that if you perfom the art it at the right timing it will have chance to get more than one HP potion and it will fly just nearby.
All around, this fight was quit frustrating, but once you have a elemental orbs and a chain attack to boot, this boss and his blade became a bunch of jokers.
Yes, but you must be excel at doing Blade combos too. You can't do the same element of Blade combo. And doing Blade combos can be really useful and fun.
But ya know what they say, you can't have a rainbow without Reyn some waters.
Well... Reyn is in Xenoblade 2... I mean... Gorg....
