Just put extra emphasis on it then I guess
Ok, before I say anything, here are some disclaimer
- I won't be going too much on your opinions on XCX...
- When it comes to video games you also seems to think that anything that people widely accepted/agreed should be considered as a fact, well for me it isn't. That should only be considered as a popular opinion, same with any statement such as "This ??? game sucks/great", this is just an opinion because not everyone is going to all like or dislike the game... "Mario is no longer a plumber",for example, is a fact, because Nintendo officially said that.
- I will still criticize on your thoughts about sidequest because you still have a lot of things either didn't explain thoroughly, or just talk way out of your league.
- It is better if you can reply to my quote section by section...
- Ok, now you said you have played XC, problem is you didn't mention it in the first place. Now this is sort of your fault to be honest.
just like this:
Literally nobody was ok with XCX just saying "Here's a list of items you need. We're not telling you how you get them nor are we telling you where. And the tracker orb thing won't work". There's nothing subjective about this poor design choice not being good
This is what I said a part that I will never understand sine I haven't play XCX. So ok, fair enough, but then again saying it is a poor design choice is still your own opinion.
But XC1 didn't HAVE the problem of not telling players important stuff. And players could ALWAYS check the tutorial! And yes, there was a Collectopedia
(I have checked later down your quote that you have played XC... question is... how long? Have you even do most of the quests?)
Tutorial doesn't tell you were are the collectible items are, same as XCX, you can only get them by getting the glowing orbs that are scatter around the area.
Collectopedia doesn't really help either, it just gives you rewards if you complete a certain category or a region.
XCX isn't a spiritual successor. It's called Xenoblade Chronicles. By default that means it isn't a spiritual successor
Just think about Xenoblade like Final Fantasy, same name doesn't mean it isn't directly connected or anything related, the reason why it is called Xenoblade is because it still share the same battle mechanics and even have some term throwbacks, however, Xenoblade Chronicles X is a spiritual successor because it has no narrative connection with the original.
This is from the XCX wikipedia page:
Despite carrying the "
Xenoblade" title,
Xenoblade Chronicles X was not a sequel, but instead a
spiritual successor carrying over the basic themes of the original
Xenoblade Chronicles.
In conclusion, Xenoblade X is a spiritual successor since Nintendo already confirmed it.
Except ONE OF X'S WORST ASPECTS WAS KEPT OVER. If 2 keeps it, then all criticisms for X are valid due to them keeping one of the worst ****ing things in that game!
I should point out you have used "If", Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is obviously a sequel to the first game, therefore like I said you can't put all the same criticisms from X to 2.
And it is one thing to be disappointed that the system that did poor in XCX not being refined in XC2 or even feastures that have been removed... like XC2 removal of armor customization, but saying that they keep the worst thing in the game is once again talking way out of the portion (You are still talking about the sidequest right?)
It isn't the ONLY criticism I have, but it sticks out like a sore thumb. It's one of my biggest gripes with the game. There's the character designs, lack of customization, auto attack mechanic change, voice acting being a bit wonky, the new art style which I'm not fond of
Totally get it, that said, most of these points you point out are personal opinions, and they are totally fine but that does not mean that everyone will agree with you though.
I here, don't agree or mind with character designs, new art style. I am mixed with character voice acting, and like you my biggest gripe is till the lack of armor customization when it is actually possible to do so.
It doesn't MATTER if the developers had different mindsets if they keep in the same **** that nobody was ok with
Sidequest are a norm in Xenoblade, so not sure why they have to remove it.
I don't think sidequest were something that nobody was ok with, because it is one thing to say the sidequest wasn't well designed and then say everybody thinks the sidequest sucks. And even so, I have explain a lot on why XC2 sidequest is better than XC, but you didn't give out why those people's opinions you saw said that sidequest was bad. If it is bad, tell my why.
Um. I HAVE played the first game. I bought the Xenoblade N3DS with the cover plates and theme. I have a Shulk amiibo too. I said it was irrelevant because Xenoblade 1 didn't have the issues I have with XC2, so you randomly bringing it up as a counter argument means **** all
I have point this out in my early disclaimer.
I have also bought Shulk amiibo (In scalper price btw because Shulk amiibo was scarce), have the theme too, but no cover plate because I own New 3DS XL. I also own the soundtrack CD.
Then again, I have played XC2, while you don't... so since you haven't even try out those mechanics, it is really hard for me to take your opinions.
Nevertheless, it is understandable that perhaps you think that XC did a lot of things better than XC2. However, I think the sidequests in XC weren't good and were too much, this is where we can debate about it.
But you here also kept comparing XCX to XC2 as well, which like I said, XCX is a spiritual successor so it is not very wise to compare XCX and XC2 with the same perspective.
The guy has a similar opinion to me on that one thing. Besides, that's a lie, as you kept saying "You haven't played it! Stop saying bad things about it" to me for a while
That person (I think it was
@Apollo Justice ) does have the similar complain, but at least he played the game and I told some of the things that he got wrong. And he later admit it but still thinks that the collectibles shouldn't be too hard to find, I even though still disagree with that but I also give him tips on helping him.
Because... it may sound cruel but that is what it is, but I never tell you to stop saying bad things about XC2, I just think that you should at least played the game and then give out your opinion so it can be more easily accepted, is this kind of logic wrong? Because I am very curious to know what you think about this. You think it is totally ok to give negative thoughts on games or even some aspects of the game that you didn't even play?
'meeting in the middle' is a ****ing awful mentality that I've only see get used by people who are a waste of oxygen, so sorry for being skeptical
I'm not really sure where do you mean by "people who are a waste of oxygen".
And that is what it should happen if you want to understand people's different opinions ok?
I double checked that and you know what? You're right, I simply misread a post of yours, which is genuinely my **** up and not yours. Sorry about that
Nah, that's ok, not trying to bash you or anything really. And this is why I prefer PM...
It's irrelevant to compare the two when the topic is "Stupid **** they left in despite nobody wanting it". If XB2 has the EXACT SAME stupid **** as XCX did, I'll compare it to XCX. Because they both have the same issue I have. How much do I keep having to say this in hundreds of posts before you realize what I'm saying?
Which in fact... XCX and XC2 are not the same if you ask other people who are Xenoblade veterans.
Again, it is one thing to complain about the sidequest not being better than XCX and say they still kept the same stuff as XCX did... you can't compare the game entirely just because of one staple mechanics in all Xenoblade games...
XCX is more of a spiritual successor and the basic setting are completely different compare to XC1 and XC2.
- XCX is about the earth destroyed, and human stuck on a different planet...
- XC is about people called Homs live on one of the two large titans called he Bionis
- XC2 is about people in Alrest live in different titans, and do their best to survive.
- XC focuses on Monado
- XC2 focuses on the Aegis, Pyra's weapon.
- Nopons... is in all Xenoblade series... kind of like Chocobos in Final Fantasy series
And with that said, I also hope you at least point out every stuff you don't like in XCX and XC2... and why you don't have those issues in XC... and again it's funny for you to say this since you haven't play XC2 at all.
Pffft, **** that, if I was comfortable with my voice then life would be a HELL of a lot easier
I don't think your voice will be an issue when having a voice chat discussion.
Voice chat have some advantages on dealing with debates, because...
- You can instant reply
- You can discuss things more better because you don't have to type keyboards all the time.
- It is more manageable when discussing stuff.
Nevertheless, if you prefer not using voice chat to clear things out of the way, I am fine with that, probably just that I'm not going have any more replies on your complaints on XC2 on this thread, until you have played the game.
Hey
mario123007
, just curious, did you fight Confiscator Jimmy? If yes, how did you went out to defeat me? Me, after a numbers of death and retry. I just beaten him after activating a chain attack while my party was almost dead while his lifebar was half filled. Leaving him almost dead while my party was fully healed thanks to Dromarch. (
Praise the Water Lion!
)
Yes... I did way before I reach to Indol... I beat that stupid Confiscator Jimmy around level 50... yes I repeat... level 50... Blade linked monsters are really hard to deal with...
also...I REALLY HATE XC2'S UNIQUE MONSTER LOCATIONS...XC2 unique monster are not only so cheating... but also in some very BS places... just take this Confiscator Jimmy... his location is rugged and hard to move around, and it is possible it will attract other monsters easily...
It is still a bit of mystery on how some monsters resonate Blades, and it is unknown if the Blade controls the monster or the monster controls the Blade...
It was Nia having Dromarch, Electra and Agate
Rex having Pyra, Newt, and Perune
And Tora having Poppi alpha and Poppi QT...
Odd that I didn't beast it with Floren... his special II also heals a lot. (
Praise the Venus Boy Trap!
)
Yep, but before doing that you have to do Blade combos and break elemental orbs in order to get to the second chain....
I also use Nia for almost every time I fight unique monsters...
Dealing with this monster you better off have Tora as your main Tank... and do more chain combos asap... you don't need that much healer Blades since it will use heal nullify... which was really annoying...
Also like I said, doing Driver combos helps a lot to stop monster's attack, extending Blade combo cooldown, and get HP potions, so besides healing with Blades doing Driver combos can also save your life... like a lot
And oh yeah, doing chain attacks while almost dead can also be very risky, if you don't have any Blade that can heal while doing special arts... you are done for... it is better to save party gauge just in case... and also do as many special as you can in order to fill up party gauge quickly... also doing Blade combos and Driver combos at the same time also helps. You also need to know if you can break all elemental orbs... you must know which element counters which element...
