Likely a number of reasons. Maybe EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings had low virtual console sales. Maybe there's music copyright issues like with EarthBound having Johnny B Goode while Mother 3 has the Batman theme. Maybe due to it being a tremendous translation undertaking for minimal payoff. With EarthBound Beginnings, at least, there was an existing prototype. Maybe because anyone who wants to play it enough to buy it has already downloaded the rom and fan translation, and e remainder left wouldn't cover the cost of translation. Maybe because those same folks would inevitably compare it unfavorably to the fan translation.Real talk though, why NoA has been so cautious about Mother 3's localization?
Is it because the game contains many references to sensitive subjects in America or... ?
Likely, it's a mix of all of the above. It's partly why I don't think it'll ever be officially localized.
