You know, I realized something: Is Scrooge McDuck's butler Duckworth going to appear in the DuckTale reboot?

Haven't seen him yet.

Spiderman: Homecoming was really good. I was expecting it to at least be a good quality film, but given my relationship with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I didn't think it would appeal to me as much as it did. Was also a little more risqué than I thought it would be at points. I'm excited to see the potential sequel, or at the least, Spidey's future in the cinematic universe. The Sam Rami films will always have a special place in my heart, but I think Homecoming is setting up a good direction for big screen Spidey.

Also wtf they basically made Aunt May a MILF, wasn't expecting that. :p

So, I was rewatching a scene from one of my favorite shows and it made me have this idea for a topic:
What is the one scene, in any form of media, that has made you completely break down in tears? And I'm not talking about just some crying, I'm talking about that scene that breaks your spirit with it and doesn't leave you alone even though you watched/read it a long time ago.
I can't recall ever even shedding a tear at a film/show/book/game. Unless you count when I was super young and was scared ****less of certain things (like those metal spider things from Spyro 1, seriously, **** those dudes). Usually, the most I'll get is misty-eyed.

But there's definitely some things that fall into the "keep me up at night" camp.

I could list loads, but I'll only go into detail on two. Both are from Professor Layton games (Lost Future and Miracle Mask).

Professor Layton games are kind of known for their tear-jerker endings, but the two that effect me the most are Lost Future and Miracle Mask. Lost Future is an obvious one, it's the first time in the entire series where we see Layton lose his composure, and make a selfish, desperate cry for something he dearly wants, and it's made all the more heartbreaking by how genuine of a couple him and Clair seemed to be, how much of his life he was willing to dedicate to her happiness, yet that was all stripped away from him in an instant. And to be teased by the prospect of her being alive with her literally being right there in front of him, but she has to go because "lol we don't want a time paradox", just makes things worse, it's like the worst thing that could happen to a distraught person. And then they sell the whole scene by having Layton take off his hat and clutch it to his chest as he stands in silence. It sounds silly, but when you know the backstory behind the hat that they reveal in Lost Future, it's just the nail on my heart's coffin.

Miracle Mask's ending also got me pretty emotional. Hell, the entire game just clicked with me in a way I don't think any of the other Layton games did (which is saying a lot because the others DO click with me as is). It's personally my favourite game in the series. But it's kind of different than Lost Future's epitome of a sad, depressingly unsatisfying ending. It was a bit more bittersweet, though actually more on the sweet side. Layton's friendship with Randall was just beautifully constructed throughout the entire game, and even though Randall was a new character, they still did an exceptional job of making him feel like he was "always there", and it makes the fact Layton lost Randall all the more heartbreaking. The scene where he has to face Randall's girlfriend, Angela, is particularly effective. But even more than that, the entire relationship between Randall and Henry was just a thing of beauty. Henry cared so much about Randall and was unwilling to believe in him being dead. So what does he do? He dedicates his entire life to making sure that, should Randall EVER be found alive, he would have the best possible life to come back to. He basically builds a city for the guy. He looks after Randall's parents, giving them the best possible care so that even old age won't kill them off before Randall is found. And he even fakes a marriage to Angela, so her parents won't have her married to someone she doesn't truly love, so she can go back to being Randall's beloved when he is found. And that's the most important part, it wasn't a matter of "if" for Henry, it was a matter of "when" Randall would be found, he even convinced a distraught Angela of this. The tragic part is that Randall misinterprets everything Henry did as him trying to steal Randall's life, and replace Randall's places in the world, and as such, tries to make Henry's life a nightmare. But that's not even what gets me, it's just the fact Henry did so much in the first place, and when everything finally works out in the end, it's so gratifying. As unrealistic as the whole situation is, I was willing to ignore it because the very notion that someone would do those things for a friend is so uplifting, the scene where all of this was truly revealed had me floored and speechless.

Also it's only recent, but everything to do with the Zora's Domain segment in Breath of the Wild has been keeping me up at night (in part because I've been listening to the OST and re-watching the best cutscenes and stuff). Granted, there's some personal reasons behind that one, but it's still really powerful stuff regardless.

Let's all play a fun little game.

Think of two characters from fiction that would bond really well with each other due to the similarities they share in terms of their personalities and traits. State the similarities they have, then discuss how the two could bond.

The catch here is that your two characters of choice must each come from different series.

Here's mine:

Takumi from Fire Emblem Fates and Rem from Re:Zero.

Similarities between the two characters:
Both suffer from severe inferiority complexes (especially when they compare themselves to their older siblings that are seen as prodigies) and self-confidence issues; such issues are so severe that they sometimes see themselves as worthless with a strong need to prove themselves by handling difficult situations on their own. They initially distrust the main characters from their respective series due to the MCs' ties with enemies that damaged their lives in the past (part of the reason Takumi distrusts Corrin is because he/she comes from Nohr, whose king killed Sumeragi when Takumi was very little, while Rem distrusts Subaru because of his witch's scent that is shared with the Witch Cultist members, the group responsible for killing her parents and everyone in her home village).

How Takumi and Rem would bond:
Takumi is known for having horrible nightmares. One night, Rem might notice Takumi suffering from one in his sleep. One of Rem's magical abilities is curing someone out of their nightmares by holding hands with the person suffering from the nightmare. Reminded of the nightmares she used to experience and how her sister helped her out of it, Rem would help Takumi out of his nightmare by holding his hand as he sleeps. When Takumi wakes up the next morning, he learns that Rem helped her and he thus trust her more (I imagine he would initially be suspicious of Rem due to her oni powers, which would likely scare him at first).

Later on, Rem would notice Takumi talking about how worthless he sees himself and how no matter how hard he tries, he can never prove himself. Reminded of what she thought of herself growing up, Rem would reach out to Takumi and teach him the same lesson that Subaru taught to her. This would deepen a friendship between her and Takumi. Likewise, Takumi would return the favor by teaching her to be more selfish in her life and not go throw her life away in foolish situations. He could even teach her a thing or two about battle tactics and strategies (considering that Takumi likes reading history books to learn about war strategies, and is even a good war planner if his supports with Ryoma are anything to go by). Perhaps the two would even become good battling buddies. One relies on close range combat with a morningstar (Rem), the other focuses on far-ranged combat with a powerful legendary bow (Takumi).

Ja'far from Magi and Killua from Hunter x Hunter. Ja'far has Sinbad, Killus has gon and they were both former assassins

So sharks, zombies, and sharks that make zombies?

. . .I'm actually kind impressed with the sheer lack of originality. It's essentially a living parody of itself.

Sharknado lives on because they're aware of how much the moves suck and they get many guest stars just to do random **** on the films.

I admit I enjoy that.

Yo, they stole the idea from an episode of Clarence.

How come Monaka isn't in the tournament of power? Anyone that can take Hit out in 1 punch and has the Ki of a God of Destruction, not to mention cloning himself and still having the power to fight against goku is probably the most powerful fighter in universe 7.

I found it funny there are theory videos from last year talking about how strong they believe Monaka is. They weren't even close

Sergio from the Sonic streams posted on Sonic Retro to say that today was the last major reveal they are doing for Sonic Mania.

All they have left is posting another music piece (announced on the stream today), and the opening cinematic on the 14th (which I will personally try to avoid as I want to watch it in-game when I get it).

All Might and Arthur.
They would go fight crime and bring justice together.

Alternatively, All Might and Archer
All Might: "I am the world's symbol of peace and justice!"
Archer: *thinking to himself* "I'm gonna kill this guy"

Finally watched Castlevania on Netflix, it was damn fine.

The setup about Lisa and Dracula was well done, and showed how the church actually were the ones who started this **** by burning Vlad's waifu.
*cue the most boss teleport ever by Drac*

I really liked the portrayal of Trevor "No ****s" Belmont of being a drunk snarky dude with a sense of justice. While I didn't asked specifically for an "imperfect hero" it is good they noted that he's like that due the grudge he holds because of what they did to the Belmont Clan.
Probably the Speakers knew that he would feel identified with them because they also are prosecuted by the church and made him stay in the town to fullfil the "A Vampire, a Hunter and a Scholar" prophecy.

Sypha is cool because she wants Trevor to drink her pee.

Alucard was set up well, by keeping the will of his mother and his powers well portrayed.

Lul no classic Castlevania music yet.
However is filled with nods to the games, like Trevor using knives and axe and Sypha being trapped in stone due a Cyclops

The gore is cool and shows how damn pissed is Drac.

The pacing seems to be an issue as a talk about a dude getting kinky with a goat was too long and the "boss fight" against Blue Fangs felt short + the "Trevor falls through many floors as possible" thing.

However the Trevor vs Alucard sequence was ****ING AMAZING.

8.5/10 would lynch a priest again.

I'm so annoyed. I bought Tekken 7 for my PC and everything runs fine. Gameplay is smooth and perfect. But every cinematic in story mode is lagging. It's just story mode where I'm encountering a problem. Sound is choppy and sometimes it's so bad it's unbearable to even play the mode.

My drivers are up to date. I've made Tekken high priority in Task Manager. Changed settings around in the game itself.

I've tried everything I can think of and still the problem persists. It's ONLY story mode too.

I just think season 1 should have been a movie since the first 3 episodes just kind of ended abruptly.

Perhaps the two would even become good battling buddies. One relies on close range combat with a morningstar (Rem), the other focuses on far-ranged combat with a powerful legendary bow (Takumi).
Owen (Total Drama) and Shiranui (Medaka Box).
Both have highly positive attitudes, and enjoy eating lots of food.
They'd both go to an all-you-can-eat buffet and get as much food as could fit on their plates. Owen would get lunch or dinner food, but Shiranui would skip straight to dessert. After eating some of his food, Owen would see all of the sweets Shiranui was chowing on, and try to take some, but she wouldn't let him. Owen would think she's funny, and they'd eat the rest of their food together.

Just had my first battle with one of the Absent Silhouette today in KH2.
I honestly didn't have as tough of a time as I expected (Granted, I didn't win, but I still did better than expected).
I suppose it's because this is the earliest opportunity I've had to fight a Bonus Boss so far.
I'm assuming that the difficulty of the KH2 Bonus Bosses goes something like this:
Absent Silhouettes <<< Sephiroth <<<<<<<<<<<<<< Organization XIII Data <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Lingering Will

Also, I really like it how Olympus Colosseum is more than just 3 rooms in this game and you get to explore the Underworld.(I also like that Auron makes an appearance)

Falco and Revali. All that needs to be said on that front.

Also for another crack one, Wentos the Travelling Salesman from Sonic Unleashed and Kass the Travelling Musician from Breath of the Wild.

For a more serious one that I'm honestly disappointed hasn't happened yet, I'd go with Rosalina from Super Mario and Blaze from Sonic. Both are generally the fan favourite "best girl" in their respective franchises, in large part due to the fact that they have powerful abilities that the other female characters lack ("UNLIMITED COSMIC POWAH" for Rosalina, fire casting for Blaze), as well as a more varied personality and character portrayal than other female characters in their franchise. They also both have some degree of authority (Blaze is a princess, Rosalina isn't royalty or anything but she's basically god in terms of the kinds of responsibilities she has). Both are also more quiet and reserved in nature compared to the rest of the characters in their franchise, while also having a more feisty side (Blaze manifests this with a short temper and was straight-up tsundere in her debut game, while Rosalina is an ice-cold sass queen in a lot of the multiplayer games who has no doubts she can win whatever she participates in, plus her confidence, toughness, and unlimited potential is a consistent mention in her bios).

As for how they would interact, I'd generally imagine Rosalina being a good mentor figure...or indeed, a motherly figure, for Blaze. While Blaze is powerful and does a good job with her royal responsibilities, she's still very young (14 years old to be exact), and has been shown to struggle with some things. Most notably, she's very socially awkward which can lead to her giving people the cold shoulder for no good reason (which has had serious ramifications for her at times), and she has a fear of heights. Rosalina is a calming presence so I think Blaze would be able to warm up to her fairly smoothly, and even she didn't, Rosalina would have the necessary patience for it to happen eventually (I mean she only visits her original home every 100 years). Rosalina can also fly and control gravity so she could probably use those to help Blaze safely overcome her fear of heights. Also Blaze likes cute things, and Lumas are cute, so there's that too.

The reason it's disappointing they haven't interacted yet is because they were both in Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, but unfortunately, the Mario & Sonic games have been dipping in quality for a while now, most notably taking out a lot of potential for character interaction by not having proper adventure modes. Rosalina was also a newcomer to the series in that game, and because of the fact all newcomers in the Wii U version were limited to one event (and veterans were also limited in the 3DS version), they didn't get a lot of story integration and basically no character interaction with characters from the opposite franchise (literally the only hint of character interaction Rosalina gets is Peach roping her into going shopping with herself and Daisy). So yeah, despite being in the same game, Rosalina and Blaze haven't interacted yet even though it's a no-brainer.

I also used to like the idea of seeing Rosalina and Shadow interact, since they definitely have a ton of similarities from a meta standpoint. But since Shadow's character portrayal has been all over the place for a while now, the idea has dwindled in appeal for me.

I tracked down the Alm and Celica amiibo at long last today. They look amazing.

Now to track down Marth, Robin, Luigi, Peach, Ryu, and Dedede. :p Then maybe Corrin, Ike, and Roy to complete the Fire Emblem set.

And then Chrom and Tiki when they come out to keep it complete.

Oh yeah, about Seven Deadly Sins manga
And turns out that there has been many females who were reincarnations of the original Elizabeth and Meliodas has to watch 106 of them die eventually... so I am guessing the Seven Deadly Sins are to going to face against the Demon God and the Holy Goddess at the end.
Escanor's power is very interesting, his power is at max when it's HIGH NOON. He also seems to have crush on Merlin, too bad that she cares more about Arthur than him. That makes me curious to know when will Escanor give it all out to Merlin and why Merlin care Arthur so much.

Nah, I was just scrolling through the Character page on TV Tropes when he, Sasuke and Rule 63 Human Sonic showed up.

Though I do plan on catching up with the manga after this season ends as there's no way I'm waiting until Spring 2018 in the most optimistic scenario.

Oh... if you are talking about the UA's big three, yeah...
That Sasuke is called Tamaki and he has a really interesting quirk, and I don't know why you called Hadou Rule 63 Human Sonic, I know she talks a lot, but in my opinion she isn't.

So...

Metroid: Samus Returns is coming out next month.

Questions....

  1. Are you excited for this game?
  2. Do you see excitement for this game around you?
  3. What was your initial reaction when Metroid Prime 4 was announced?
  4. What about Metroid: Samus Returns?
  5. How many Metroid games have you played before?
  6. Are you excited to see the classic 2D style come back?
  7. Are you excited even though its a remake?
  8. Do you think Metroid: Samus Returns and AM2R are in competition with each other?
  9. What do you think about the new Melee counter?
  10. What do you think about the new Aeon abilities?
  11. Do you think the internet will like this game?
  12. Do you think you will like this game?
  13. Do you think the game will add anything new to the story? Make a prediction if you do.

And since some new Fire Emblem Warriors stuff got revealed, I'll continue some questions from those.

  1. Do you like Cordelia as a character?
  2. Do you like Female Robin better than Male Robin, why or why not?
  3. Do you like the way the game looks graphically?
  4. What do you think of flying units being introduced?
  5. Wild guess! Who will be revealed next?

I just want to mention the FE Warriors graphics since it was brought up.

I've actually been concerned about the game's visual quality. Something about it feels cheap.

The character models mostly look decent, but some characters look a bit off in the face. Textures also look a bit weird too, some of the characters have a plastic sheen to them, most notably Corrin's cape.

Also the realistic textures in the environment don't look too hot. And the HUD looks really bland. I also feel the scaling of character proportions is off. Corrin is like, twice as tall as an infantry soldier, which shouldn't be the case at all.

Yeah yeah, "still in development" and all, bit Hyrule Warriors looked much more polished, much sooner.

Don't get me wrong, I still want the game, but hopefully they can polish the visuals a bit.
