idk why that is, Every other Pokemon from that gen I can look over but once it comes to Milotic, I look up picture after picture of it.

I actually kinda like Delphox, hated it initially but the RPG classes theming is enough for me to like the 3 XY starters
Just wish it would have a bigger type coverage to fit better with the Dark Mage theme

I can see the entire Pokemon fandom going "New Weapons Soldier Scream" if/when the dreaded Fighting type is attached.

It made SOME sense in gens 3-5 as it gave them a type advantage against rock types without adding any double weaknesses but there's not gyms so that reason shouldn't fly.

I doubt it was because of type matchups
GF doesn't care about 4x like fans do nor did BW have any Rock

the sulfur symbol graphically makes no sense

Ray-Ray is the first Chinese-Dragon-like pokémon, how could anyone hate him? Plus he's the all-mighty ruler of the sky.

And even better, he's basically Pokemon's Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan, one of the most important deities in Aztec/Mayan mythology, that's what made me love him the first place, xD I have drawn him a couple of times with Quetzalcoatl himself for fun, and also with Rids since they are dragon best buddies in my head.

xD Which I also find cool in a way is that in that SMITE game, there's a playable Kukulkan, but there's an alternate appearance for it that looks like a fusion between Quetz and Ray-Ray:

xD Yeah, Ray-Ray had stayed as my favorite pokemon for the longest time, and with one of the most amazing Mega Evolutions even if people call it OP, it's even better!

Rayquaza's based on Quetzalcoatl? Never knew.
I kinda just assumed it was just some kind of dragon interpretation of Ziz to go with Groudon (Behemoth) and Kyogre (Leviathan).
Nice to see multiple layers of design going into a single Pokemon. The origins of Pokemon design are usually fascinating and Rayquaza is certainly no exception.

I was bored and decided to go over to Serebii to read over the new Pokémon again and I can't believe I missed this little tidbit about Oranguru:

Oranguru live solitary lives deep in the forests and do not usually take much action. Instead, they position themselves high up in the trees to meditate. Long ago, people thought that Oranguru were humans who dwelled in the forest depths, so they called them “the people of the forests.” Oranguru is kind to the other Pokémon living in the forest, providing medicine for injured Pokémon and food for the hungry. Oranguru sometimes act on their own initiative and will use items that only humans normally use. From a Trainer’s perspective, they can be hard Pokémon to handle at times. Allegedly, there have been sightings of Oranguru using Poké Balls! The fan-like objects held by Oranguru are handmade by the Oranguru themselves. These fans appear to be made of layers of leaves bound together with Oranguru’s own fur.

I just want to point out that Rayquaza is my favourite Legendary Pokemon...and Mega Rayquaza is my favourite Mega Evolution...He's so awesome he needed his own tier

Rayquaza for the most part is based on the biblical Ziz...which is the Sky counterpart to the Behemoth and Leviathan...although it's appearance is based off of chinese dragons and somewhat off of Quetzalcoatl...Ziz is more griffin-like in appearance...
