The "3 Step Glitch" renders the Nearby tracking Pokémon Useless, and it may make impossible to capture Pokémon.

Basically it shows Pokémon in the vicinity as beign three-steps away, but no matter how much you walk, it will always be 3 steps ahead.
Wait; you're saying that this glitch basically makes the game unplayable right now? If so, I guess I won't be touching it until the glitch gets fixed...

The radar is supposed to display 9 Pokémon, with the nearest being the top left, and the farthest being the bottom right. Under each Pokémon, it's supposed to show no steps, or 1-3 steps, depending on how close you are to the Pokémon.

3 steps means it's within 1km from you.
2 steps means it's within 100m from you.
1 step means it's within 10m from you.
And no steps means you're right on top of it.

So it's essentially a game of hot and cold.

However, an update that came out in the US version, before the release in other regions, literally just broke the radar to always show three steps no matter how close to or far away from a Pokémon you are. Making it impossible to efficiently and finely hunt down Pokémon with just the game.
Data mining has confirmed that the glitch was intended.

No, the radar just doesn't work.

You can still catch and do things but you don't know where the Pokemon is unless you use something like PokeVision to see their location.

In fact, it makes it slightly more infuriating.
My favourite part though, is that the CEO of Niantic said he doesn't condone the use of unofficial apps/websites for finding where the Pokémon are at.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Yeah I don't know, I'm getting more exercise out of chasing a Scyther trying to beat a timer than I could've just aimlessly walking about.

Yeah, River City Ransom is a great NES game, i really want to get it on the 3DS's Virtual Console (screw emulators) but im out of savings right now.

I was estatic to hear about Tokyo Rumble. I also heard of River City Ransom SP, which is apparently a remake of River City Ransom with new stuff, and i hope that game comes overseas as well.

Oh and Tokyo Rumble is getting a Physical release, all the more reason to get it for me.

EDIT:
Yellowlord Yellowlord , it doesn't make it unplayable, it's just that it makes it really hard to catch Pokémon in general, up to the point that people use stuff like Apps and Websites that show the location of Pokémon.

Played some Indie Game Battle now that I can play it at full speed. It's alright. Rather slow and floaty. Don't like the limited controller configuring.

I'm aware it's a work in progress so I'll still keep my eye on it.

They could have removed the three step system in order to find a way to fix it.

Still, it's removing a major part of the game. And if you don't want people using unofficial apps, you're not doing a good job of preventing it by removing the three step system altogether.

I agree. I loved RCR, it was a lot of fun when I was younger and still is. Beat em ups are always fun titles imo.

You know this game is dangerous when people are forced to make PSA's especially for it.

Some people are just too dumb to live.

Wait, is River City Ransom on the upcoming NES Classic Edition?

*checks* NOPE!

And I read RCR as Retro City Rampage (a totally different game).

True, but this isn't to surprising. At least they were able to get these done quick, to maybe help the growing issue.

Thanks Andrea!

You are right, I started to have a healthy life years ago, because having a great physique is a silly dream I have.

I'm a little more lazy now because it's Winter here.

But yeah... I think I will do some exercise now XD

So, I gave the Star Fox Zero demo a try...here's my thoughts...

When it comes to the controls...It's really not as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be, though I have to admit it is a little jarring to be flying the Arwing around and having to look away from the screen at your Gamepad to aim more efficiently, when I'd rather just fly and shoot like in other Star Fox games...also one gripe I have is constantly getting thrown off by the gyro's motion controls and having to constantly readjust when it goes way out of whack, upon the readjustment I ended up getting disoriented way too much as a result...

I do have to say that this game would've greatly benefited from having more control options...because if the player doesn't like the way the controls work in this game, they have no other choice...I know a lot of other games have only one way to play but most of those games don't implement a lot of motion controls and split screen focus like in this game...

As for the other vehicles...Walker (aka Arwing's chicken form), looks awkward as hell but feels decent but not great...Gyrowing is waaaaaay too slow but is ok, Landmaster is @#%$%@#$@%@$#....seriously did not like how it handled...

Overall it just needs some getting used to but from what I hear the single player campaign leaves a lot to be desired...Each of the vehicles didn't really feel that great to me, but at the end of the day I can't really be bothered trying to 'git gud'...
I think it'll remain a game that I will not purchase, I've never really been invested into the franchise all that much beyond smash and if I was going to get into the series I think I'll start with one of the classic titles before putting my time into this game...

So Super Smash Con is less than 2 weeks away.

Most excited for news on both Super Smash Flash 2 & Super Smash Bros. Crusade (especially the latter as they've been suspiciously quiet since their last news update).

Y'know. I'm actually looking forward to the final build. Mainly because I can finally use a GameCube controller natively with my adapter. Good thing they're finally implementing that now.

Apparently, Sausage Party has positive reviews and Rotten Tomato's gave it a whooping 100% score.

Maybe I might check this film out after all since Seth Rogen rarely disappoints with entertainment.

I'm curious how McLeodGaming did it.

Long before the news, they stated that feature was out of their control and said Adobe themselves was to blame for it. Wish I knew.

Would be awesome if they reveal that the built the engine from the ground up while they were developing the game. Start getting away from Flash since that's starting to kinda' get phased out.

I'm honestly just secretly hoping after the game is completed that someone will port it to Wii Homebrew so I can have a console experience with it. Heck, even Wii U Homebrew would be awesome. Although, this is just more than a pipe dream IMO.

Super Smash Flash 2 Beta better come this year.

I hope my computer can run the game with this version.

It's been a long time since I played a game on my computer, last one was Undertale.

I've been vaguely interested in that movie.

I love the premise, taking a rather innocent concept and turning it into something horrible. Admittedly though, some of the jokes in the trailers are pretty much "how many times can we say **** in an animated movie."

Still, I hope it's good, I probably won't see it in theaters though. I would like to see more R-rated animated movies because of it.

I feel like I'm at a point where I want to talk about hype stuff constantly with the NX but we just don't know anything to talk about yet. LOL.

I will say that Breath of the Wild is likely the first Zelda game I will actively seek out to purchase for myself, though. Before I just borrowed the DS Zelda titles from someone else, and while I found them alright I wasn't quite mind blown enough to start lining up for every future title announced. With Breath of the Wild, though, something about the footage on the livestream looked. . .really good.

I think my favorite part of the DS Zelda titles was when I could just mess around and goof off doing things other than the main quest. A game doing nothing BUT that? Sure, why not! The gameplay looks pretty fun as well.

And then there's the tree climbing. Why do I care about tree climbing? Funny enough, it has to do with one of my first video games, which to this day is still sitting around with very little progress.

Sonic '06.

I couldn't beat the actual levels, so instead I wandered around the hubworld looking for Silver Medals. One that I couldn't figure out how to get for the life of me was up a darn tree.

Now I can take revenge for the inconvenience of video game trees once and for all. Establish dominance. Conquer.

. . .Oh, and cooking looks fun too. I just hope the fact that you probably don't have to farm for any of it means getting ingredients for it is easy enough to actually make it as fun as it sounds. . . And I hope it doesn't rot if it stays too long in your bag or anything.

Was trying to figure out a trick and found a quote that speaks to me instead, heh.

"You know, obviously video games are designed for the player to play the way the designer has intended them to. But a good game is a game that gives you enough freedom that the player can create their own way of playing and can find ways of playing that the developers didn't envision. There are so many options strategically in certain games. Obviously the stage layout and how your tools work has all been done by the designers, but, because you're so free to choose your approach to it and your strategy, people can think it through on their own and really come up with creative ways of how to attack these games. They're designed in a way so that, as you play it, you get better and better at it and start to understand the depth of the strategy and the best ways to use what you're given."

~Miamoto, paraphrased so it's not just fanboying Pikmin

Shiggs is weird about certain things but when it comes down to the core design and gameplay he's pretty much got it, imo.

Are the DS Zelda games the only ones you've actually played so far?

Because OoT, TP, WW, and MM are really solid games and I can't really say you've given yourself a good enough grasp of the series if you haven't played any of them yet...ALttP and ALBW are great titles as well...

Well there's also Four Swords that they send out for free whenever a Zelda anniversary rolls around. Didn't make it very far in that one, though. The gimmick made it a bit difficult.

I will admit I've probably missed the best experiences. It might be partially that the E3 stream was the first time I actually sat down and watched footage of a Zelda game.

*EDIT* Why did I call it a demo? I know it's the full game and I said that for some reason.

Excited for the same reasons. Both fangames are turning out very nicely, especially how extreme the differences are from the first versions to what the games are now, both very close to completion.

For those interested, what characters will you main in either game? I know I'll stick to Weegee for Crusade

So this guy made a Sonic tier list that has been causing a little bit of a fuss.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

I'm not here to cause slander towards his opinions. They're strange and different, but they are his.

But I decided to make my own one after seeing it. It still has some areas I'm not sure about, and I pretty much avoided most spin-offs. I couldn't even fit the Storybook games in.

But I guess people can let me know what they think and I'll catch up in the morning, if they're interested.
