I was bored so I made a pretty chart sheet containing which Pokémon type combinations have been used or not:
Note this is accurate as of Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Here's what's been done in Gen 7:
Normal/Dragon - Drampa
Bug/Fairy - Cutiefly
Poison/Fire - Salandit
Ghost/Fairy - Mimikkyu
It's also worth noting that there were some "Pokémon" from Pokéstar Studios in Black 2/White 2 that have unique type combinations: UFO 2 is Psychic/Electric and F-00 is Steel/Normal.
I was thinking a bit about this at work...
34 Current Unused type combos.
And I came across an easy way of getting down to 25 in Aloa.
Electric/Dark: Mega Luxray.
Ice/Steel: Mega Vanilleuxe.
Fire/Grass: Tiki. We've talked about this at length.
Bug/Dark: Mosquito.
Dark/Fairy: Wolf in Sheep's clothing pokemon that I've brought up.
Ice/Bug: Make something like the Armored Crawmad from Pikmin 3. Ice area seems fairly late so it may be a "durant 2."
And lastly... hinges on an idea. An abandoned research facility of project AZOTH found in Aloa.
Electric/Poison: Computer Virus pokemon.
Poison/Steel: As I've said before, go medical. Like a toxic vial creature, something made out of syringes, etc etc.
Electric/Psychic: Alien. Like small alien floating in a ufo-like-lower body. Give it levitate... actually it'd kinda be a good way to go for a Mega Beheeyem.

Some other possibilities...
Bug/Ice-The Weta would be perfect for this concept
Bug/Psychic-Either a moon moth Volcarona counterpart...or the theoretical Eclipse Scorpion legendary
Normal/Steel-Porcupine
Normal/Poison-Shrew
Poison/Steel-Mega Nidoking
Bug/Dragon-Either Mega Flygon or a new dragonfly pokemon
Bug/Dark-chupacabra/cockroach
Dark/Fairy-Gremlin/chupacabra could work here also
Normal/Ice-a Wolf!!
Fire/Fairy-Alola island guardian
Ice/Fairy-another Alola island guardian...Water/Fairy is more likely but since there's an ice area on the one island it could be possible for it to chill up there...
Without getting really blunt, the issue was more about like-farming, posting spam, and abusing the system. It's kind of hard to remember as it was around a year ago and was more of a bullet point within an on-going debate regarding the direction the site/Smash community as a whole should take.
It's bad enough some don't watch the street while they're in it to make sure cars are not coming, but this is just stupid. I'm so glad the police and cracking down on this misbehavior. They're endangering a lot of lives because they aren't focusing on their driving. Go is cool and all, but come on. :/
Since this NES Mini releases more than 30 years after the release of the original NES, we could then expect a SNES Mini coming in 5 years and a N64 in 10 years as well.
