Updated the title (finally)!

I'm excited for the re-release of the NES. Its a good move for Nintendo, and will help people replay the classics.

So some weird **** just happened to me.

I go check the mail and turns out I got an SD card from Amazon. But I had refunded it some time ago because I bought one locally. I got the refund and used the money on something else, so I thought everything was cool.

Till this happened.

Now I got a free SD card that I don't really need.
Stuff like that happens all of the time with Amazon.

When I bought my (first) Rosalina amiibo from Amazon Germany, it was over two weeks past the expected delivery date so I contacted them about it. Then they sent me an e-mail overnight while I was asleep saying the package was lost, and that they were going to refund me within 3 working days because they didn't have a replacement.

Wake up next morning to head out to college a bit later than usual that day because I didn't have some classes that day. As I was getting ready, I heard something at the front door. When I was leaving the house, saw an Amazon package there, and what do you know, it was my Rosalina amiibo.

And then after that, I checked my e-mails and saw the one about my package being lost. And then I got my refund a few days later even though I got the amiibo from them anyway.

While it's most likely right, they could be lying just as much so the surprise says hidden.

Anyway:

There was a Nidoking outside my house last night, but I couldn't find it :(

Darkrai looks amazing.

And the NES mini is pretty awesome. I'll definitely pick it up.
I don't see why people think FFXV will come to NX. I thought it might before, but after more thought...

The game releases in September. NX SUPPOSEDLY releases in March.

That's like, half a year for one of the most anticipated games to be out and for people to buy it. Anyone who really wants the game will already have it by the time the NX releases, especially considering most people with a Wii U will likely have one of the other systems.

I can only see FFXV NX happening if Nomura gets around to making that hugely enhanced PC port he wants to make, where they might port it to the NX as well.

It's been announced that the controller for NES Mini uses the same kind of port you connect to a Wii Remote (and yes, you can plug in that NES controller to a Wii Remote to play Wii & Wii U games). I wonder if plugging in a Classic Controller into the NES Mini is possible.

I'm not sure if I'll get but if it can be modded to have moar games than my interest will increase.

Also, today TurboGrafx16 games have FINALLY been released on the Wii U eShop.

EDIT: You CAN use Classic Controllers into a NES Mini, I just found out.

So my Wii U is trying to install System Update but I prevented it for now.

Anyone know if the update is mod safe so I can unblock the DNS?

Done a lot with Pokémon GO today. Went to my first Pokéspot, evolved my first Pokémon (Pidgey), and caught a bunch.

Also, when I was playing, I ran across a Psyduck but the game crashed in the middle of the Poké Ball shaking. Thankfully when I restarted the game, it said I did indeed caught that Psyduck!:cheep:

Well it looks like we are Playing with Power once again folks.

Also im surprised that that they went out of their way to put 3rd parties. Hell they even have Konami games there.

Overall it's a pretty damn good deal, but im not exactly happy on some of the inclusions:
-Castlevania 3 is missing (yet we have Castlevania 2, which is by far the worst in the trilogy)

-FF1 on the NES has aged so badly that i honestly wish they didn't include it (i know i know, im gonna piss someone off by saying this, but NES RPGs are so......dated nowadays that it's hard to come back to them)

-There's only 1 Ninja Gaiden game, at least they could have put the second game.

-There's only one Mega Man game (the second one) is it too much to ask to get at least Mega Man 1 or 3 as well? Hell they could skip 4-5-6 if they wanted it. (then again i have Mega Man Legacy Collection on the 3DS so it' doesn't bother me)

-The Worst omission for me is: No Hudson games at all, which is wierd since they could have asked Konami (they put Castlevania and Contra, i don't see why they didn't include Adventure Island and/or Bomberman)

Overall it's a decent line up, but im unlikely to get it at launch, mostly beause i only see myself playing 25 out of the 30 games included (plus i already own Mega Man 2 so i don't count that one) so it will likely be low-priority as of now.

The only games i would put are River City Ransom, Casltevania 3 and maybe Mega Man 1 or 3.

The timing on this video is rather ironic. If you're a Nintendo fan this is MUST watch.

I never realized the Playstation was actually the 2nd competing system that was created out of Nintendo rejecting a 3rd Party's idea or that it can run on Top Loading NES systems.

For $60 total, it beats paying $5 for each game on Virtual Console (plus there's 10 games I haven't played).

And like I said, if it can be modded to have moar games, I'll be more excited (it's not like it needs updates/patches or anything).

Yeah, i know it's a good deal, but not every single game is to my liking. Plus i have played almost every game included, even if i don't own them, so it's not like im going to discover a forgotten gem or anything. Also i live in Chile, so im not sure what 60$ (which i assume is 60 US Dollars) is in Chilean Pesos.

Also i don't use mods, so that point is irrelevant for me (with that said an Update/Patch that added more games would be sweet, but im not seeing it)

>tfw Pokémon GO still isn't out in your country and everyone else on the internet is having the time of their life

You can get the APK. It's apparently not region locked, as I saw someone at my my college playing it, and it hasn't been released in India either.

It's running from Google's servers, so any busy place can be a gym or a Pokémon hotspot.

They probably wanted variety more than anything. No Hudson Soft makes sense in hindsight considering there are no games from them on the Wii U VC. Just like how the original Contra or the NES Metal Gear are still not available, it's more Konami shenanigans sadly.

8 Bit RPGs haven't aged well, but it's good they put at least one of the more memorable/playable ones on there. Heaven help us if the original Dragon Warrior was picked instead. Kind of weird they didn't use this chance to promote Earthbound Beginnings.

I do agree River City Random >> any of the Double Dragon games IMO.

I always questioned why Konami never ported NES version of the original Contra to VC, yet apparently the MSX version is available in Japan. I can understand not releasing the NES version of Metal Gear considering Kojima's own disapproval of that port, but what's been holding back Contra all this time? Was the MSX version considered superior?

NES Mini says it has multiple suspend points for each game. However, I don't see how it would be done as the NES controller doesn't have any other buttons and I don't see such on the system itself either.

Odd...

Yeah, i gotta give Nintendo Credit for representing almost every genre that the NES offered with at least 1 game. The Beat Em Ups with Double Dragon 2, the Shoot Em Ups with Gradius, the RPGs with Final Fantasy, and the platformers with Basically everything else.

The reason why i think is that they didn't include games like River City Ransom is because games like those unfortunately fall more on the obscure side, and it's likely that Nintendo wanted to Include the most iconic NES games, even if some of the choices for games have aged badly, if not poorly. It's essentially a Iconicness>Quality situation sadly (im not saying that all of the choices are bad, far from it, but that's how it feels to me in some cases).

Again the only thing that really bothers me is the inclusion of Castlevania 2 (which honestly is a waste of spot for me) yet they excluded Castlevania 3 (the best game in the trilogy in pretty much every aspect except the difficulty), i honestly would have switched them around (they Skipped Mega Man 1 and went with 2 instead, so i don't see why they couldn't skip 2 and went with 3).

Despite this, i really like how Nintendo is handling this idea. I hope they do the same with the Super Nintendo (SUPER Classics) and i hope the number is higher (at least around 40, yeah i know im dreaming), also if that ever happens, that means games Like FF6, Super Castlevania 4 and Mega Man X are a possibility.

I love how the NES Mini is practically smaller than an NES Cartridge. How far we've come, folks.

I already got my NES and a solid chunk of those games though, so unless they go the route of SEGA's mini-consoles and let you add new roms, I think I'll pass. Might get that controller though.

I would but apparently they've been banning people for playing using illegitimate downloads.

That, and because waiting for my country's official release means the servers will be properly prepared for my country.
