Is the mini NES actually the NX?

They both have N in the name...

I'm not sayin' anything, but I'm just sayin'...

I doubt they would announce it out of nowhere if that was the case, especially since this little box doesn't contain any Breath of the Wild.

BUT.

I do see it as an attempt to offer something people can buy during the holiday season since the NX won't be available yet.

And considering the description, likely an attempt to keep Nintendo on people's minds for when the NX does come out.

Pretty good deal, if you ask me.

Seems like a pretty solid list to me. Most hook up and play emulators have one or two classics and a bunch of shovelware, but this is pretty much a Best of Nintendo collection. With some third party titles!

Pretty good deal, if you ask me.

Granted I already have 22/30 of those game carts, but as a collector that's pretty big. It would be great to see at least a few of the games that have been so high in demand go down in price.

I'm especially surprised they were able to get the NES 3rd Party giants: Capcom, Konami, Temco, Taito, and Namco on board. Although no Dragon Warrior, Tetris, or anything from Hudson Soft is kind of a surprising exclusion. Guess it's VC only games.

I don't feel like crunching the numbers but that's at least $200 worth of NES games, assuming you weren't already emulating them on the Virtual Console in which case you'd be spending the same amount of money.

Yep, mission mode as been announced.

It doesn't look mind-blowing, but at least it's something. It was only announced for arcade, but it's safe to assume Wii U will get it (for free hopefully).

I'd be all for a PSone Classic Mini Edition. All the classic Crash and Spyro games (except probably Crash Bash since that hasn't gotten a digital rerelease outside of Japan), MGS1, FFVII-IX + Tactics, Mega Man X4, Castlevania: SotN, etc. all in one package would be great.

Thoughts on Mini NES....

Its cool...not particularly hyped but its definitely cool that they did this...at 60 bucks its not a bad price either...basically 2 bucks a game plus the system and its attachments...I guess it allows players to use the original NES controller on VC as well so that's very cool as well...

I'd be interested in trying out a few games such as Megaman, Castlevania and Final Fantasy if I do end up grabbing it....

Also if I do get it, it'd be the third time I own the original Metroid...

That NES looks pretty cool. I'm surprised Nintendo are even doing this, but it's an incredibly smart move IMO. I'm really curious though as to what architecture the machine is running on. If its my bet though, I would say probably some off the shelf parts and an emulator instead of an NES-on-a-Chip. Although, I'm sure Nintendo could be fully capable of making a chip like that themselves since they have all the documentation necessary. Definitely cool seeing this though.

Hopefully if they make a second iteration of this, they might be able to add an actual cartridge slot onto it. I would definitely buy it if they did. For now, I'm probably just going to buy the controller and use that to play some of my VC games already.

I really loved SAO but I can obviously see the issues, like the rollercoster rider of quality in the show. IMO it was amazing then good then great then alright then amazing. (going with the story arcs in order).

The sexual stuff I'm okay with (except 1 Asuna scene I won't say because Spoilers!) tho I would prefer if there were none.

I don't consider it a bad anime.
