Metroid II: Return of Samus is obnoxious.

I'm just not having any fun with this game.

There is no map feature which is vital for Metroidvanias so that's a thing. Even then, it wouldn't be so bad if environments were varied enough to have landmarks or names or something. I'm stuck wandering around places that look the same. I tried using an online map, but I'm still just as confused.

The music is obnoxious aside from one track and I found most of my new abilities early on so it feels like I'm already at my peak.

Samus is super big compared to the rest of the screen and creatures feel more agile then her so the game feels hard in a bad way.

I've killed half of the Metroids and I don't feel like I'm having fun.

I think I'm done with the game. At least for a while. Maybe I'll just play AM2R instead or something.

Gonna start an Etrian Odyssey game next.

Bored post. Redesigning moves that raises Evasiveness and lowers Accuracy to do something else.

Spoiler

Evasion Raising Moves

Double Team: Blocks an attack, then strikes. Goes through Protect. Basically Shadow Strike but a Normal-Type move. 80 BP with 100 ACC.

Minimize: Becomes small. The next hit has priority but is weaker.

Acupressure: No longer raises Evasion.

Accuracy-Lowering Moves:

Kinesis|Flash|Sand Attack|Smokescreen: Blinds enemies, canceling their next move. Like Protect, except this cancels any non-attack move instead.

Leaf Tornado|Mirror Shot|Muddy Water|Mud Bomb: Lowers Evasion instead of Accuracy.

Secret Power: No longer has the chance to lower Accuracy.

Mud Slap: A 40 BP no effect attack. Basically a Ground-Type Water Gun.

Night Daze: 90 BP attack with 100 ACC with no additional effects.

Octazooka: Ignores stat buffs, 100 ACC, 70 BP

I just need MegaMan and Venom. I wouldn't mind seeing X as a unique character too. The fact he has yet to be in a fighting crossover game is jarring. Even Volnutt got in over him in Tatsunoko VS Capcom. But to be fair, Volnutt is far more cartoony and really fits the settings. Will X not be a costume for once? I guess we can only hope for fangames doing that again at this rate.

Well, there are two of them but I'm gonna assume the first one because EShop sales and EOIIU is still somewhat expensive
Also, while Story mode gives you two exclusive classes and a set team, it isn't the most balanced of them(healers aren't as useful as other support classes and 3 offensive classes is overdoing it), though you shouldn't struggle with them for the main game
