It's a criticism of the time and of the character. There are reasons the ages of consent were increased. Being a norm in the past has no bearing on whether or not it deserves criticism. Everything can be criticized.
Well, my #1 favorite,I realized I never asked this thread my favorite Pokemon-related question. D: Figure now might be a good time since the Pokken news is still fresh in our minds.
Situation: Pokemon exist in our world. However, due to government regulations, each person may only own one Pokemon. Legendary Pokemon are protected species and as such cannot be caught. Battling is still legal within specialized recreational facilities, though. However, if a battle occurs outside of this, trainers are responsible for any collateral damage done by their Pokemon. All real world conclusions take place as a result of Pokemon actions. That is, yes, your Chandelure will attempt to burn someone else's soul, a Blastoise can kill on contact with its cannons, and yes, anything that sounds dangerous is dangerous. The sole exception is that Magcargo are not almost twice as hot as the sun (seriously wtf Pokedex...). For the sake of the prompt, you may not choose to forego Pokemon ownership.
Question: What Pokemon would you have as your partner and why? What issues would you need to be willing to put up with? Anything special you'd do with that Pokemon?

Generally, any electric-type Pokemon would be dangerous to have around electronics, especially computers, but the tendency to self-destruct every time someone mistakes it for a Master Ball would quickly become cost-prohibitive.. has a terrible stench that can be smelled from a mile away, and 's petals are so full of toxic spores that they shake loose with every step. Basically, I'd have to get rid of it as soon as I allowed it to evolve... oh, and Oddish spends all day buried underground and only comes up to walk around at night, so that doesn't seem to be a great use of the limited time I'd have with it. and are too wary of danger and aggressive to be manageable, and let's not even talk about the damage could cause if it gets agitated. #3 is out.

Only the greatest Pokemon is the proper choice.
Other than excessive slime or the off chance of her punching anything, there's no downside.

It's actually kind of tricky to pull off because when you get low in health, her attacks intentionally dodge you (and the attack that got you low ends prematurely if she hit you directly). AFAIK, the only way to pull it off is to take damage from the "wildfire" dancing along the bottom of the window - which is essentially the fire that she lost control of and can't stop if it's hurting you.
This is delayed, but as somebody who doesn't really care about the badges I've found trading cards to be a great source of money by selling them on the marketplace. Okay, most of the time they're not selling for more than $0.20 and usually are closer to $.10, but if you sell enough of them it stacks up, and with how cheap you can get games on sale on Steam, I've been able to pay for multiple games purely through funds I've gotten from selling trading cards.
There's not necessarily any requirement to do that, I think people were mostly just doing that to clarify what they were responding to.

Chansey's weak in terms of offence and there's a reason they're nurses. The Togepi family is very friendly too
