I definitely 100% agree with this article. The Smash Community acted very immature with those leaks. It was merely too much drama for me.

Not quite dead. It's a little hurt, but there's still reason to believe it IMO. Unfortunately, we won't know 100% until characters get revealed. Same goes for everyone's favorite kid/squid combo.

I'm not 100% sure on the details of the RB rumor. I think it's a bit too early to discount the rumors fully (as the people probably had some legitimate information), but I don't think you should actively hold onto them. Just keep them in the back of your mind until things get confirmed or deconfirmed.

For the record: I am in a long-distance relationship with a Japanese Nintendo employee who has worked with Masahiro Sakurai in the past. We are both avid gamers (I've even dabbled in competitive Melee as well as Smash 4, hence my username on here) and he sometimes feeds me information regarding upcoming titles. I am keeping both his and my identity a secret and posting from a computer I do not normally use to keep us safe from any possible reprisal.

I said it once, I said it about 6 or 8 times (lost count) but it's just speculation by this point.

Don't expect anything and don't try to think too hard about it. Every character is pretty much back at square 1.


We shouldn't expect any characters and just go with the flow because everything can be misinformation or the right information. RogerBase straight up changed his information towards a lot of things to expect a Splatoon Direct with a Smashing announcement by the 23th (or the end of the month but everyone gave up by this point) then changed it to Inklings are in Smash because he's so unsure and Tama is about as less confident in the SK rumor than he was 2 months ago.

Don't try to expect things and drag them on. We'll be waiting until the end of the year for SK or Inklings and for people just to say "Give it another month"

Just enjoy the ride, because there's difference between speculation and straight up expectations on certain things and I don't want people salty over it
