I think the fact that Zelda U info is coming via Famitsu and not an announced direct is potentially telling of the current state of affairs for general directs.

We don't know that it's any actual info though. It may literally just be a mention of the progress, they're talking about other Zelda-related stuff in the interview, mainly Tri-Force Heroes. We only know there is passing conversation about Wii U content. Plus Famitsu has exclusive interviews and details about games all the time. I don't think we can use this as anything regarding the state of affairs.

That's why I put emphasis on potentially.

A couple of people were asking me (I forget who) if I still thought the Shovel Knight thing might happen and how I felt about it the other day. I never got around to replying due to being super busy, so here's my belated response to that.

I think overall it's more likely than not at this point. I'm personally more confident in it than any of the other stuff out there right now.

I do still trust my source a lot and would honestly be very surprised if there wasn't at least some truth to it. We also have YCG's questionable behaviour about the whole thing, like their complete non-denial of it at PAX. Then, there's Stealth, who apparently is claiming to have heard from his own sources that it's a thing.

The continuous 'mislistings' of the SK amiibo may lend something to the rumour, even if they don't necessarily mean a whole lot. It's just strange that they seem to pop up so often; even on Nintendo's own site. On that subject, with all of the different 'mistakes' on Nintendo's amiibo site, why did they only bother to fix the Shovel Knight one? Weird.

I'm honestly not bothered which way it goes, but it's hard to deny that the circumstances aren't at least suspicious.

Why should he? I'm proud of him for taking the high road, and insist he stays that course. If it happens, it happens, if not, oh well.

So, guys. I am probably gonna buy this 'First 4 Figures' Tanooki Mario Statue (the regular version), 15 Inches tall, limited to 2000 in the world.

This one.
Would you guys say that 890 Swedish Kronor is a good deal for a brand new one of these? I am unsure.

For an item of which there are only 2000 units, that price isn't too shabby though still significant (€94.45 for me). Considering the tendency is for it to get more expansive, I'd recommend to get it as soon as possible.

Thanks for replying to my price questions all the time, Frosty. XD I bought it now, thanks to you, and I am sure it will look nice in my collection.
I wish I could have gotten the Exclusive version that came with a large Question Block and Super Leaf (ans scarf!), but that version was both sold-out, and didn't have the exclusive extra price for me. -w- Oh well.

Thank you!

Like I mentioned earlier - I really enjoy Splatoon. It's great to win, sometimes I even feel bad for the other side if my team just dominates the match. Otherwise I just hate losing streaks. (And I'm glad the Dynamo Rollers got nerfed. I hated being on the receiving end of them.) Haven't been able to devote enough time to it as of late due to studying for exams and trying to sneak in some Metal Gear Solid TPP every now and then, but once all of these exams are over, I'll play a bit more of it. The threat of the Octoling corruption also had a bit of a part in prolonging my playtime, so hopefully the real Octolings are on the way soon.

Eh, I do like Splatoon, its biggest problems is its very slim content, and that you need wi-fi to fully get the true experience of it.

Too bad the game is sold at its highest price in the US, while it's as the same price as a 3DS game in Europe.
Looks like another proof of Reggie abusing of his charisma to justify NoA's b******* choices...

Then that would mean that Reggie's influence also spreads to Australia since its still full price here :p

I have a little less faith in it than I did before based on something I heard but I'm still airing roughly on #teamprobablyreal. It's about 55/45. We'll see.

If you're asking if I'm going to say in public what I was told in private, even though I promised I wouldn't say anything. Then, no I won't.

Don't forget we still have the 23rd. Still plenty of time for an announcement to prop up for everything to go into hyperdrive.

Since the ballot is over and people are itching for more Smash content I think something dropping relatively soon is a pretty safe bet, but I'm not confident we will get anything that significant. Not by the 23rd, anyway.

Splatoon isn't perfect, but for what it is, it definitely has merits to stand on. And even then, it's something you can enjoy in quick bursts, not something to engross 5 hours in like you could CoD or something.

I love Splatoon, but I don't play it often as I think I'm terrible at it, and because leveling is so slow I can't try new weapons very often to see what works for me.
Level 13 and I still use the Jr.

So I don't play very often.
I also have a hard time setting up the gyroscope to not be ****ed due to my setup.

I had heard that Stealth claimed to know the second character and that it wasn't related to Roger's rumor, but this is the first I'm hearing that it was Shovel Knight.

I'm not about to put stock into what Stealth says though.

I think Splatoon should now have the optipn to offer all battle modes at once and switch between more than 2 stages.

Also, I haven't played in a few weeks and affording all the weapons aint gonna happen.

Here's something I think would be interesting to discuss:

Since it's presumably late in the lifespans of both the Wii U and the 3DS, and the vast majority of big releases for them have already released, what do you think the biggest unannounced game for each system is that will happen before they die?

(Pikmin 4, TP: HD, and Pokemon Z are all officially unannounced and I will accept those as answers if you don't think any bigger games will be announced for Wii U or 3DS).
A paper mario for WiiU could be it, TTYD seriously released on the gc end of life and idem for pm64, spm and SS didn't, but the first 2 were really late in life of the console.

I think the 3DS will probably last a couple more years so gonna discard that.

For Wii U... Maybe they'll pull a Skyward Sword and make Zelda U the Wii U's Swan Song, there's also Pikmin 4 to consider and perhaps a new 3D Mario (remember the Wii U has yet to get a traditional 3D Mario game, so I think that's likely).

There's really not much else at this point.

I had a dream.

I was working on a movie trailer in a Kim Possible-esque school being surrounded by people who wanted to see my talent, I was hiding under a blanket holding it with my toes and and hands on every corner. Somehow I was able to create a movie announcer-esque from my mouth and announcing a trailer for a movie about microtechnology and how people managed to use the technology to shrink themselves and create mini-versions of places to save space for earth. After people saw my trailer I was suddenly greeted by Ryan Secreast who told me that the trailer was great and hoped that this trailer would apply me for a job in Level-5 of America.

Weird huh, but now I suddenly have a high motivation for working for Level-5. Just really wanted to address my dream because I'll likely forget about it anyway.

Super Mario 3D World is as traditional as you could get and it is a 3D Mario game.
"Traditional 3D Mario" as in the collecthatons like 64 and Galaxy.

Mario 3D World is more of a fresh take on the 2D games, essentially being a combo of both 2D and 3D Mario elements.

Oh how I long for a Mario game like Sunshine.

Also, I should not have bought that First4Figures Tanooki Mario. Now I am totally eyeing the new F4F Samus Light Suit statue, and the Link-on-Loftwing- statue..

So according to Serebii, Pokken is around the 3rd most popular arcade game in Japan right now.

It was only really doing bad in that one arcade

I missed 13 pages in one day, did something big happen? You could just point me to the relevant page number if it's too much to summarize.

Long story short: RogersBase revealed that the "cool news" he was teasing was a Splatoon Direct with a "Smashing" announcement. Everyone else that knew spreaded the rumor like it was about Smash and he was disappointed in them. He doesn't seem to be as sure of his source anymore but he's apparently very credible.

Stealth may or may not have his own sources regarding the second character but we don't really know yet.

Roger is losing faith that the information given to him is true/accurate, so he came forward that his source stated there would be a Splatoon direct on the 23rd, with a "Smashing surprise" at the end of it (assumed by everyone to be Inkling DLC for Smash). With the latest Splatoon update dropping without any prior direct, and the 23rd being only two days away with no announcement, believers of the rumor lost confidence, neutrals are leaning towards it being fake, and disbelievers are confident in its falsehood.

I feel like mentioning, that they didn't so much "fix" the error as they did respond by breaking that section of the site. The amiibo compatibility thing in the games section still doesn't work for me.

Even if the rumors are all hogwash, we're likely getting characters or at least a reveal soon.

You just don't add a third slot outta nowhere unless you are planning on using it soon.

I guess I'm confused why they even need to add the placeholder slot to begin with. It doesn't make any sense. It's not doing any good in the build right now, so why was it necessary to add ahead of time?

I'd like to assume they have their own QA builds independent of the "production" build, as any software development company worth its salt would have... I just don't get why it needs to be there right now. Either it's an oversight and that code isn't supposed to get checked in (which I guess would explain how we found Ryu/Roy's sound files ahead of time, though honestly I'd expect to see more if this were the case), or there's some architectural reason that needs beta tested.

Well, today makes the 11th anniversary of F-Zero Climax for GBA, which was the last game that was made before the series went onto hiatus. :(

Sad that there's no evidence of a new game (not even fake rumors or "leaks" ever touch the series with a 10-foot pole)

Hopefully the upcoming Fast Racing Neo will help fill the hole.

You should really play the original FAST if you haven't already.
