I bought splatoon today exactly. Its alright I suppose lack of voice chat really does kill the fun and the kills don't feel as satisfying as something like gears of war (which isn't a fair comparison mind you). Already a level 6 and the gameplay and music is great just a mixed bag of feelings right now

It's almost like the game isn't about killing at all since the kills don't actually matter and is more about covering the level in paint.

I'm not gonna make an assessment about Splatoon without playing it, but Undertale is obvious enough just from videos that I'm more than happy to ride the "Undertale is Overrated" hype train any day!

Like, the plot could be WORSE, I guess, but that gameplay is just so unpolished, the game is way too short for an RPG even by the standards games like Pokemon set, and a lot of the anvils are dropped a TEENSY bit too hard.

My contrarian gaming opinion of this quarter seems to be that I was/am infinitely more excited for Fatal Frame and Devil's Third than Yoshi's Woolly World. I am so burnt out on 2D platformers. Super Mario Maker is a blast for sure, but between that and all of the 15 or so indie I've bought in the last year and a half, it'll be awhile before I can get hyped over any 2D platformer.

Since it's presumably late in the lifespans of both the Wii U and the 3DS, and the vast majority of big releases for them have already released, what do you think the biggest unannounced game for each system is that will happen before they die?

(Pikmin 4, TP: HD, and Pokemon Z are all officially unannounced and I will accept those as answers if you don't think any bigger games will be announced for Wii U or 3DS).

Well, it might be like, when I die, then spawn and warp to a spot, then die. This cycle repeating over and over tends to get the better of my emotions. I can handle Smash Bros losing, but something about that kind of losing irks me.

I think I get into feeling like "helpless" and unsure what to do and it frustrates me.

That's cause you aren't supposed to just squid jump into battle. You can see people jumping in way before they land and you can just open fire before they're even able to orient themselves.

I'm surprised that neither or these were ever brought up when it came to playable Octoling speculation.

Just 4 months ago the debut Mario Tennis Ultra Smash cabinets didn't even have original artwork but reused ones from all the way back from the Wii era. The animations are not only extremely similar to previous entries but were really bad in some places (sometimes characters would just half-slide), the hit sounds are still being reused from the very first game, and the voice clips also seemed to be largely reused. I can definitely see why many are getting the impression that it's being rushed out the door for the holidays.

I'm curious how long has this game been in development. It's releasing in November yet we know nothing about it, as for the longest time we've only seen 1 court and (presumably) 1 game mode which is the Mega Mushrooms, with only very recently seen more characters introduced (though no new ones). There will obviously be more to it but I wonder how much.

Splatoon is awesome. I've always been a fan of the shooting genre but the last few years the genre has become so stagnant and 99% of the games feel exactly the same that it put me off them.

Splatoon is my bae. Most fun I've had with a shooter since giving Microsoft the boot and depriving myself of Halo.

It admittedly gets a bit stale for me now and then, but the second something catches my eye like a new map or weapon I jump back in and can barely put it down.

I absolutely love Splatoon. I just wish the servers were a little better. I know my internet isn't the best but I don't actually get kicked from other games when my network lags. I don't even experience lag on Splatoon, it just auto-kicks me off anytime it starts lagging the tiniest bit. :V
Otherwise the game itself is extremely fun. I'd play it constantly if I didn't get kicked all the time. At least the Single Player is good too...
