Which to me is a double edged sword because the logic behind "sexy costumes" at times baffle me.

Well, for the past, I dunno, five or six years, the 'sexy' Halloween costumes have been made *intentionally* absurd. They sell really, really well, because they attract a lot of 'haha look at the dumb costume I'm in' attention.
