This wikia claimed Dedede was the heaviest fighter in sm4sh despite the tips saying otherwise iirc
I just checked the Direct.
It's not there either. It just shows a screenshot of the ballot page.
I feel like they would have specifically told us "you'll vote on the characters after the ballot ends" if this were true.
Doesn't help that there's apparently no recognizable source for it.

I scoured through the Smash Bros. Facebook page and found nothing pertaining to the Fighter Ballot and didn't find this quote either.

I don't where that came from, but I found this on the EU Smash Ballot.
This may have been posted before, but I'd just thought I would bring it up.
It says something similar on the US one, too.
It doesn't really lend any credibility to this.

Yeah, I just checked there too and couldn't find anything.

Yeah they apparently plan to publish our votes online. (Presumably for whatever character they decide to work on.) So they most probably really will be reading our votes and publish the best given suggestions and reasons from those votes etc.

Online polls are too easy to exploit. They're definitely better off just picking submissions on their own.

it be horrible if we had to vote, people would be stuffing the ballot left and right with bot spawned votes.

He claimed he didn't trust the pedia and checked the Direct for Confirmation, and that's why it's 100% true, because he's claiming the direct confirms it. So I'm grilling him to find out exactly where in the direct it "confirms" this is true.

I would assume Sakurai (or Nintendo) got some employees to look through the votes and see if there where any good/interesting/popular suggestions among them etc. I'm not sure if Sakurai would look through all these votes himself though....
