almost forgot another important point. This one flat out conflicts with Tama's leak. At least given the data we know, there are 3 placeholders. While more can happen true, if this information was at this point then that would mean those 3 were already planned, meaning those 3 placeholders would be for them. It's a strange coincidence you just happened to stumble on this. Tell me, were you the one who uploaded that screen cap? I'll even go one better and ask, perhaps you were the anon 4Chan user posting that "for props". You sharing this after the reveal and the placeholders being found is certainly suspicious given all the info I can currently see.

I think you are mistaken. No one ever confirmed that the first two slots were for pre-ballot. It was speculated but with the lack of the release of those 2 characters, it's more likely that those two characters will be released in the upcoming months (as it probably takes 6 months to develop a DLC character), meaning they could be (first day) "ballot results".

Just realised, I never said who I think the characters or what the stages could be.

Let's go!

1. Wolf
2. Donkey Kong character (K. Rool or Dixie)
3. Third Party

1. New Star Fox Stage (Based on Zero)
2. 3DS exclusive past stage (Grate Bai plz)
3. 3rd Party's stage

As for who the 3rd party could be... I'm not sure. Maybe YCG have something going I'm not sure. Sonic & Mega Man were the only 3rd parties with wide support from the fanbase for their inclusion. Snake was a surprise to all, Pac-Man only became popular for speculation after Namco was on board and Ryu was another surprise. Point being, there's no big obvious one besides Snake and I don't think Konami is gonna stop it's projected business plan of "screw Kojima and money"

Hmm. That's a good guess, however I raise issue on one thing. I can accept he skimmed past the 3DS version as that's generally not cared about as much as the Wii U version. However it's the wording that's key.

Pirate Ship will be the FINAL returning stage.

Now of course, we have 2 additional stages to potentially look forward to. True, it might not conflict in the end, but if any other returning stage is announced then it dies. Still, at the very least it actually survived an information wave, that's better than 99.9% of leaks.

99% sure that's fake but what baffles me is why Riku? That's like that one kid who swore you could unlock Shadow the Hedgehog in Melee if you S ranked all levels in his eponymous game but claims that Sora, err, Sonic wasn't in because...?

Plans change? Keep in mind this is from early September. This is after the last patch we had and before the current patch. That means that it's "changed plan" could of been accounted for. Especially seeing 3 placeholders, and Pirate Ship. One coincidence is easy to brush off, but Two and surviving an info wave stronger means it needs to be kept in mind. Do I believe it? No, but I also don't have reason to discredit it at this time. After all it was a year ago we had a character fight in a flying mech and the Duck Hunt Dog as characters and no one gave it the time of day for a while. Time shall certainly tell at any rate.

That is the one caveat that would sway me. Still, this is at its core a text leak, and as such it needs to do more than predict a stage to convince me.

Hm... yeah, the short timeline is worth considering. I hadn't thought of that. I'm still cautious though, if for no other reason than it reads no differently than every other text leak we've seen.

I will grant that there's some meat to chew on here, but I'm only like 30% convinced it means anything right now. One or two screencaps would completely change my mind.

Could be a massive coincidence or we could have a legit leak once more.

In my opinion this leak does NOT conflict with Tama's. However, I'm also on #team strong fake for the Wolf, K. Rool and Bomberman leak.
