I'm hoping for more free stages like this. Seems like they'll be distributing version exclusive stages for free, while the purchasable ones are for both versions.

More past stages or as with Duck Hunt, stages from each version of the game on the other.

Some ideas (music selections on brackets):
- Mute City SNES on Wii U (same as Port Town Aero Dive)
- Magicant on Wii U (same as Onett)
- PictoChat 2 on Wii U (all songs originally on the PictoChat 1 stage in Brawl)
- Castle Siege on 3DS (Fire Emblem Theme, Attack)
- Halberd on 3DS (Meta Knight's Revenge, King Dedede's Theme)
- Skyworld on 3DS (Underworld, Kid Icarus Retro Medley)

With Duck Hunt being available as a stage on the 3DS version, the character no longer uses the same stages as R.O.B. and Wii Fit Trainer on Classic mode, appearing on his Duck Hunt stage instead. I wonder, though: is Duck Hunt now fought in this stage when unlocking? I mean, the stage is free, so anyone who has the latest patch will have the Duck Hunt stage no matter what.

Also, songs for the Duck Hunt stage on the 3DS version are: Duck Hunt Medley (remix) and the Wrecking Crew Retro Medley (not a choice for this stage on the Wii U version, being on the Wrecking Crew stage instead).

And great to see duck hunt stage coming to 3ds for free. That means it IS possible for Wii U and 3DS levels to get each other's stages as DLC. Now let's hope for Magicant to finally make its appearance on Wii U!

They had to have an exit plan for the Dlc. Dlc is a very costly expense, it's not like they can Keep Dlc in production forever. At some point it's just better to create a new game then release additional Dlc. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Dlc ends this December; and with the lack of characters in this update I'm seriously wondering if 2 is all we are getting. Bandai Namco had to have an idea when their people were going to be free so they can work on their other projects. It's not unrealistic at alll to say "okay we are going to produce Dlc for a year" as teams need to be organized.

I think more than 2 is possible, but I just wouldn't be surprised if that's all we are getting.

I feel the opposite way.
I find that the conclusion to the DLC being:
- the last really demanded cut veteran
- a newcomer that wouldn't have a chance in the base game but fair game as DLC

Is a pretty good way to end it. We have plenty of good newcomers from Nintendo already. Unless it's someone like Dixie Kong, I think they'd wait till next time.

The Duck Hunt stage being on 3DS makes it seem like practicing from one version to another is a million times easier now.

Free stages are awesome; I'd like it if they could do this more. Hopefully 3DS gets Smashville/Town and City or something while Wii U gets Yoshi's Island (Brawl) and Prism Tower.

I thought Gen 6 had plenty of good music and I am not even a fan of Gen 6.

Gen 4's music is great, all of that jazz and such. Great city themes too.

And Gen 1's music was great all around.

Omega Pirate Ship is awesome.

It's set atop the cannon tower and they even added little details like barrels and jars and even a treasure chest! All of them straight from Wind Waker. The Pirate Ship can sometimes be seen in the background.

On the Wii U version, the Zelda series has all stages from previous Smash games except Great Bay. Wow.

Yes, I just tested Classic to see if it was and you fight him on the Duck Hunt stage indeed. The stage also appears in All-Star Mode, like all other DLC stages with the exception(?) of Super Mario Maker.

Yeah, I also think that Mario Maker doesn't appear in All-Star.
