I usually taunt at the start of a match if it's a ditto match as a sign of respect when we both play the same characterChanging the subject really quick, what is everyone's opinion of starting a match on For Glory with a taunt? I'd like to know what the general consensus is on this act. How do you feel about it, when/why did this start and how should it be greeted?
Personally, I don't understand this gesture. I know why it's done, for the most part, but simply see it as a free hit. I've been told I'm being disrespectful if I take that free hit. My response is: if you give me a free hit, no matter how or when it occurs, I'm going to take it. Whether you whiff an attack, I read your option, I block your attack or you do something otherwise punishable..... it should be punished. Am I wrong?
When that announcer says, "Go!".... you better believe I'm going. I don't want to wait and see if you taunt me, even if it's friendly. I have a game plan when the countdown begins and it doesn't involve stalling for your taunt to finish.
I'm an old school Smasher and was not familiar with this practice prior to Smash 4. If anyone cares to shed any light on it, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
And when **** went down last match, like someone accidentally SD'ing, ending with a disrespect or I have been playing with the same person for some time and a mutual respect has been created
